I stayed for 7 nights at Hotel Regina Ex Royal, and unfortunately, the experience was below expectations for a 4-star hotel.
Pros:
* The staff was kind and polite.
* The food was decent and tasted good, though not very diverse.
Cons:
* Cleanliness was poor, both in the rooms and especially in the bathrooms, where there was a persistent unpleasant smell throughout the stay.
* Very limited activities for children – only one hour per day.
* Music for adults stopped at 10 PM, while in other hotels the entertainment continues until midnight.
* The bar also closed at 10 PM, which led to long queues and overwhelmed staff near closing time.
* The elevators were a major issue: only two small lifts available, barely fitting a stroller and two people. Long waiting times and crowding were common, especially in the mornings and evenings.
The hotel is rated 4 stars, but in my opinion, it doesn’t deserve more than 3. I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend it to those looking for a complete and relaxing vacation experience.

A catastrophic experience, undoubtedly one of the most deplorable to date. This establishment constitutes a veritable breeding ground for infection and poses a serious biological hazard to anyone entering its premises.
It is my firm belief that the Bulgarian authorities must take immediate and explicit action to identify and implement responsible solutions for managing such locations, where human lives are placed in jeopardy—most gravely, the lives of children spending their holidays here.
The administration of this establishment deserves nothing but condemnation for maintaining such intolerable and hazardous conditions.

Five stars for the entertainers Kris, Paco and Ani, they were very nice and welcoming, we had fun in table tennis, pool, archery, darts and basketball contests. They even gave me a diploma for winning the table tennis contest and announced it at the microphone, it was a touching moment for me.
The hotel is under renovation and is being rebranded as Hotel Regina. The rooms were a bit dated, but the view of the sea from the 14th floor was impressive. The rest of the hotel looked very good. The pool supposedly had mineral water, indeed I didn't feel excessive chlorine. Food was great, everything you could desire, especially the cakes were my favorites.

It was good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel have a new management from 2025 and besides old reviews that I read, now everything was great, the rooms, the pool and food.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience we encountered at your hotel, Royal Hotel, on 26th August 2024. Our troubles began as soon as we arrived. We had anticipated that parking would be available as part of our stay at a four-star hotel, but instead, we were surprised to find that we had to pay an additional 20 BGN for parking. Although we were unhappy with this unexpected charge, we eventually paid it and hoped to move on and enjoy our holiday. Unfortunately, the problems only escalated from there. When we arrived at the canteen for our scheduled check-in at 2:00 PM, we were met with a long, chaotic queue. We were forced to wait nearly an hour to check in, which is completely unacceptable. When I questioned the staff about the delay, they cited being short-staffed and claimed this situation was unprecedented, despite knowing the exact number of guests expected that day. Such poor planning and lack of organization are inexcusable for a hotel that advertises itself as four stars. After enduring the frustrating check-in process, we encountered yet another inconvenience: the elevator. We had to wait an additional 10 minutes just to get into an elevator. This delay, coupled with our already frayed patience, made for a terrible start to our stay. Upon finally entering our room, we were horrified to find the beds in a dreadful condition, ripped apart and looking like they had been through a disaster. This level of neglect is shocking and completely unacceptable. We decided to have lunch by the beach, which was decent but unremarkable. However, dinner at your hotel was the worst decision we could have made. Despite paying for an all-inclusive package, the food quality was abysmal. The food was unlabeled, looked unappetizing, and appeared as though it had been carelessly thrown together. To make matters worse, both of us experienced stomach issues after eating, leading us to question the hygiene standards of your kitchen. It is absolutely appalling that a hotel of your supposed standard could provide such poor service and amenities. The state of the food alone is enough to warrant serious concern. It is shocking that this establishment is allowed to operate and even more so that it has been given a four-star rating. I am requesting an immediate investigation into these issues and a full refund for the distress and inconvenience we have endured.

Well incredible hotel went with Loveholidays and complained whilst there how dirty the hotel was and the fact they only cleaned the room twice after begging advertised as 4* not even 1* and as Loveholidays are no longer covered by ABTA no point complaining they just ignore you - bar was often closed common areas dirty - all inclusive - no do not eat or drink there

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone!! The food is inedible if you even manage to get any, it's cold/undercooked, the elevators take forever, customer service is non-existent, nobody seems to speak English, there's mess everywhere, the pool water looks like sewage, the activities listed on the website are not available at the hotel, the bartenders don’t know how to make the ordered drinks (rum and coke came out green), the rooms have not been cleaned and the trash bins are full. Nothing in this hotel is as advertised, avoid this place at all costs. 0/5

The hotel is a disaster. Arrived at 9 a.m., checked in at 2 p.m. and reception pointed to the sign. When we got to our room on the 12th floor there was no toilet paper and we had to pick it up at reception. The fridge, TV and telephone were unplugged and not working. Even with the plugs plugged in, the TV had no reception or was only terrible. Breakfast: No rolls/bread once, no butter/margarine once. My coffee machine is bigger than the two in the hotel and so there was only a limited amount of coffee available and it came in plastic cups; cups and glasses were a rarity. In the afternoon, because it was all inclusive, pizza, ice cream and chips were also served in plastic cups because the dishwasher was broken. So in the evening there were only small plates of cake because there were no large plates available. Drinks, where available, were also only served in plastic cups. Cleanliness: The dirt was always well distributed; on the terrace it stuck to the floor and tables. Some of the chairs were broken and dangerous to sit on. Great picture here, but the pool bar is no longer there, it's a storage room. The terrace bar is no longer there either. The only thing left is the hotel bar next to the restaurant, and drinks were rare there and there were long queues. Apart from Bulgarian, English is the language spoken, and until you answer in English, then you are no longer understood. Lift There are 2 lifts, each for 5 people or 400 kg, although 1 of them was often broken and out of order. The hotel is on a mountain and the beach is reached via a sloping staircase with a broken railing or a road with lots of detours. There used to be 4 stars, but from my experience of the hotel, 1 star is already too much and I warn everyone against this hotel, except for the adventurous. Best regards, Achim T.

A horrible stay.
Hotel wasn’t fully opened.
Rooms were worn down, not clean, staff speaks no English, pools were empty, all inclusive dinner was an oily tasteless soup, a salad , an over cooked chicken stew with rice and a mini slice of cake. Asked for more rice ( as that was the only eatable ) and took 1 hr and begging to get it. Elevator didn’t work, getting to the 6th floor was getting up at the 4 and then walk 2 floors. Door lock was kind of broken, anyone could get in. Linens were full of stain. We asked for a refund of our second night since it wasn’t even a night just we needed late check out at 16:30 and manager lied into our eyes that we will get it, then told to ******* “no refund, we can stay an extra day ir get a free parking” note: we had no car and was on a business trip. The worst experience of my life. Stay away

I liked my stay in the hotel very much. The rooms and the food were okay but what made my holiday was the animators Reni and Melek, who were very nice and played very cool music by the pool. And honourable mention for the best beach they have here in Bulgaria, I really enjoyed my time there.
