Electra Palace Rhodes - Premium All Inclusive in Ialyssos

I went to this hotel in September to celebrate a couple of special birthdays and to be honest the hotel staff were wonderful. My husband surprised me with a ring from the hotel jewellery shop for my birthday which cost €230. I had been back a month when I noticed one of the stones had fallen out. I reported it straight away to the hotel as the jewelry shops’s phone number was unattainable, and both are refusing to repair replace or refund because I ‘wore it’!!!!!! How ridiculous. The hotel is trying to distance themselves from the jewellers but if you have them on your premises you need to take responsibility. Under EU consumer law (Directive 2019/771), all goods sold in the EU are covered by a two-year legal guarantee. If a fault appears within the first 12 months, it is presumed to have existed at the time of purchase, unless the seller can prove otherwise. . DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT THIS HOTEL it’s a con!!

We stayed here for a week in September 2025 and while there were some positives, overall the hotel did not live up to its 5-star rating or the price we paid. The pool area is beautiful and the bars are well stocked, but the service was very slow – waiting for drinks around the pool quickly became frustrating. There was also a very strict sunbed rule: if towels or belongings were left for more than 30 minutes, staff would remove them. In theory this should prevent the usual “sunbed wars,” but it was taken to the extreme. Even if you went for a quick swim, joined an activity, or popped to grab a snack, your things were gone. At times it felt like staff were just waiting for you to get up, which created unnecessary stress rather than relaxation. We had paid extra for a sea view room, and while the view itself was absolutely incredible and the room was very clean, the room was very overlooked, which took away from the experience. On top of that, the noise levels were a real problem – the walls felt paper thin. We complained one evening about the loud noise from the room above, but despite being assured someone would check, nothing changed and the problem continued. For a hotel of this standard, that was very disappointing. Dining was another letdown. The Italian à la carte restaurant was enjoyable, but the buffet was poor: limited variety, long queues, and food that was cold by the time we got back to our table. Nearly every dish came with a warning about fish, which suggested much of it was stored or cooked together. Desserts all tasted the same and lacked freshness or variety. In fact, one day we even went out for lunch instead. On the positive side, the private beach attached to the hotel is amazing, the on-site shop was very handy, and the indoor pool and gym were both good. Outside of the hotel, Rhodes itself is incredible. We rented a car and found some of the bluest water we’ve ever seen. The locals were so friendly – even the cats! For the amount we paid, the service, food quality, and overall experience simply did not meet expectations. Rhodes is a stunning island and we will definitely return, but unfortunately we won’t be returning to this hotel. Very expensive for not a great stay.
