The place is cool too, close to the city center and has comfortable rooms with a reasonable amount of beds per room
Free parking, large room, and large supermarkets around
A very cosy and familiar guesthouse, the people that are in charge are lovely and very helpful for whatever you need. The place is really close to the main market street and not so far away from the city center.
She spent over an hour writing down a 4 day itinerary for me by hand! My debit card was having problems, so she accepted my American cash and booked everything for me on her own card! She then loaded up a bag full of groceries and sent me on the road
The lady taking care of the hostel is smart, well spoken and extremely helpful! I came kinda unprepared to Iceland and she took ~3 hours to plan my trip, look for the cheapest rooms and even refunded a unnecessary ticket i bought so i could use it for my trip back to the airport
I would only go back to Iceland if she was there to help me plan my next trip, no lie. Best hostel I've ever been to!
Oh, but make sure to book directly with the hostel, not through a booking site

Not as long as I thought it would be, beautiful and bright, shops on either side, lovely little gift shops, places to eat and get a coffee, very pretty and unique, keep walking past the colours and it leads you right to the hallgrimsta
We had a great experience staying at Rainbow Guesthouse. The house is very clean and orderly. The location is absolutely perfect! It is in the heart of the city and only minutes walk from many of the fun things to do
Our room was cute and cozy with a little balcony outside. The kitchen is fully-equipped. It's a very nice place to stay!
Beautiful place, very local and easy to get to places within walking distance. Enjoyed my stay
I would highly recommend it and will definitely be staying here again when we return!
kitchen is full of kitchenware which provide for us to cook ourself. Nice loc, close with Laugavegur, also able to walk to Harpa concert hall. Near with Bonus supermarket also
It was a bit hard to find at first. I carried my suitcase and searched for the front desk for a long time. I found it on the side of a small street, and it was half underground
Had kitchen to cook own meals it was great , morning around 6:30 to 8pm u can’t use the kitchen since breakfast will be serving, neat shared bathrooms and receptionists were cool and helpful
The small room is simple, but has everything you need. I was especially happy about the large desk. The breakfast was surprisingly good, given that food is quite expensive in Island (only the coffee could be better)
The best thing was that the brother at the front desk was very nice. He could help me book a taxi and book a bus ticket to the airport because Uber was not available here, which was inconvenient
Clean, warm, cosy despite basic - and the most affordable spot we were in Reykjavik. Very, very central, 100 mt from catedral and just aside Laugavegur (main downtown shopping and social life street).
But some people came and stayed on my floor for a few days and they were SAVAGES! I went into the restroom during the night and someone had deficated on the floor! I was so angry not just bc it was unsantitary but bc they were rude to the wonderful hosts of this amazing establishment!! SHAME ON THEM AND I HOPE TJEY SEE THIS AND ARE EMBARRASSED!!! But in the morning the restroom was as spotless as...

Quiet Guesthouse with cosy room, kitchen and bathroom. Close to City Centre.
Owners very nice people.
10-15 walk from the centre, easy parking and access to the main road out to the sights
Cute cozy room not so far from the centre of Reykjavík. Very nice breakfast.
Very clean room with a cute design, small but well equipped kitchen, one shared toilet and shower, hot water all day, easy check in and check out. Was very pleased!
Great, clean guesthouse with only two rooms so lucky if you get one! Well equipped kitchen to make food which is appreciated in the slightly expensive Iceland
Nice quiet place within walking distance to downtown. We were able to easily find parking each time we arrived.
Reykjavik, Lækjargata 6a and 6b (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Entry was a bit rundown and 2 flights of stairs to climb. Facilities clean and quiet. Shared bathroom and kitchen. Check-in instructions clear and easy to follow. Good location for shopping, restaurants and bus pickup.
Great spot in downtown Reykjavik. Bus stops just outside to get around the city, to/from the airport. Easy walk to the main city centre, waterfront, and more.
You just get a code to your room in a e-mail and that's all. Showers aren't very nice, they use geothermal water so it stinks like eggs. Breakfast is also alright, nothing special, but absolutely sufficient
Nice placement and average rooms. If you have social anxiety, this place is perfect for you, because you don't really have to talk to anyone. There's no one on the reception
While a bit cozy and squeaky in places, this was an affordable space for my family in the heart of Reykjavik - close to everything we wanted to see.
On the downside, it's all pretty basic and the owners aren't very responsive - I had to email on the day of arrival to beg for the door code that should have been emailed more than 24 hours ago and despite warning them first when I booked and then again when I asked for the code that I'd be arriving around 2am (having previously stayed here and knowing the system), my room card had been removed from...
Reykjavik, Lokastigur 24A, Midborg (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Rainbowstreet, sunvoyager, Harpa center and mostly all the bus stops where the local tours starts are in walkable distance
The shared bathroom is very small and only has 1 shower but there was rarely a line. We weren't able to enjoy the back porch due to the weather but our room was quite comfortable enough to look out on the streets
Loki 101 Guesthouse was the perfect place for my stay in Reykjavik. Its location in the city is fantastic, the room was clean and comfy, and if I had any questions the staff was extremely quick to answer
The hosts and cleaning staff are super friendly and this was the PERFECT base to explore the city. It has the best location and a very well equipped kitchen
I will certainly be staying here again on my next visit!
Although I didn't meet the owners they always responded quickly to any questions I had by email. There were only a few downsides for me. Other guests could be noisy in the corridors and kitchen at all times, day or night
Reykjavik, Laufasvegur, Midborg, 101 Reykyavik, Stolichnaya oblast, Islandiya (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This is a gorgeous little guesthouse in easy walking distance to all the major attractions and sites in Reykjavik
It was very well set up with a full and large kitchen / dining room for guests to prepare their own food. It was more like a hostel than a hotel. One shared bathroom per floor worked fairly well
Centrally located, easy to walk to the centre of town. Despite this, it is remarkably quiet. Room was very clean and bright
When i tried to use the stovetop the power went out due to a vlown breaker, forcing me to use the shared kitchen vs the private one in our suite (after i found the breaker box and reset it), so that was inconvenient
There is a step from the road down to the front door and two biggish steps from the door down to the floor itself but they are not hard to manage (even with a buggy)
Shame there was not a separate toilet tho. Room was neat snd well decorated bed and bedding was amazingly comfortable. Narrow stairs up to bedrooms and down to kitchen were challenging for a 70 plus body
Reykjavik, Bergstadastræti 46 - Key pick-up: EirÃksgata 6, Midborg (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Its is super clean, quite and placed in strict Reykjavik center. The hosts are really friendly and kind, constantly on your disposal
The beds are clean, and they have free modern duvets which are not folded under your mattress, like the old style of making beds! Some accommodation still use to make their beds this old way in Reykjavik, really a right mess when you wake up!
We were there end of September. Very nice location, very good price. The rooms look good, ambient is very homey and the owner Elza was really nice to us
Location - perfect, in the city centre.
Good parking place for car.
Clean, stylish and in the city center. I like the community style.
Best host we had in Iceland for a week and that's saying something because every host we had was nice.. The house interior was beautifull and edgy, with really good taste decoration and the rooms are very comfy
Reykjavik, 16 Skolavordustig (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Clean restrooms that each have a shower, you share with other guest but there are 4 so it's not an inconvenience. There is a kitchen you can use. The door to the building is secured with a code that only guest have
We stayed in The Tower and it's AMAZING. You get a great 180 degree view of the city. You are conveniently located in the middle of so much. You can easily walk anywhere and come back home between anything
Good location for walking around downtown with enough options for parking! We were in a room with the small shared kitchen but it was good enough since we were only spending one night
Only about $60 a night which is a really good deal considering it's Iceland. You get your own room with a key to it. We booked last minute but the staff responded really fast
Step out side and you have shops and restaurants and the awesome famous church is on the same street. Everything is nearby including a 24hr convince store
Room was clean and the host was super attentive to us driving jetlagged from our flight

I was a little worried because I thought it was someone's actual house but I was able to come and go as I pleased at all hours without fear of bothering anyone. It had the privacy of a hotel but the feeling of being home
wonderful place to stay, Super nice and friendly staff, very convenience, modern and warm design,
Lovely place!! Highly Recommended!!
I'm planning my next trip and I'm for sure staying here again!
Lovely and clean. Kitchen and bathroom in good condition. Bedrooms nice. Very good location. Would recommend.
Great place for a great price! However your stay will be very dependant on how noisy your neughbors are...

The staff are super friendly and helpful. Though a bit out of town, it is close to the bus terminal for airbus. Taking a bue to city centre is also easy and convenient
I had to buy a big bottle from the store that I ended up using it twice and then throwing an almost full bottle into the garbage because I can't fly back with it in my luggage
Beds were comfy, kitchen and hallways were very nice. Our room was assigned wrong originally but they were very helpful and upgraded us to a private bathroom
I wish the rooms would come with body wash and shampoo, or at least offer the option to buy a small bottle of body wash and shampoo at a reasonable price
Great place, it needs some improvements
The place was amazing and the staff was very friendly
Also when I booked it said that luggage store was provided free but apparently to be safe you have to get paid locker
Wow! I really loved this location and the community was great! I have stayed at multiple hostels in my travels so I am familiar with shared spaces. I stayed in the 8 room female dorm with a shared bathroom
Alicia as very productive and she helped us in a very professional manner she was amazing at her work,We was with our friends and could see that she was very talented and make our time So special! Thank you Alicia !
I was able to store my luggage upon early arrival and for my late departure. They even have a bar and esspresso/coffee. They have an amazing rooftop area as well! The staff were very kind and helpful
They provide ear plugs and all the guests I encountered were courteous. The price was phenomenal for all of the amenities. I used the kitchen daily and loved all of the community space to hang out
The owner is lovely and has a beautiful dog. The bar area is a plus, full of sofas, chairs, and all kinds of games. Last but not least, a magnificent terrace overlooking the main street downtown
I was impressed by how clean and organized they keep everything. I would definitely recommend this place to any other solo travelers

I am really sad that it is temporarily closed because it is an awesome place to stay: from the unique pod feature (which is super safe and cool - and trust me you won't feel claustrophobic), great location, awesome staff, all the way to a cool wall feature with all the guests' signature on it
I've made friends and nice memories and I hope it will reopen soon so others can enjoy this place too
We tried it because the pods looked fun and a bit more private than a typical hostel. There were more than enough toilets for the amount of guests, and they seemed to be very clean
The pods did not seem to lock at all but would still recommend for the experience
I have booked this pod for my trip in Reykjavik in 2019
I appreciate they sell some snacks, so you don't have to go out if you are just a bit hungry and have no food. The reception has nice couches and a great view

Not badly located, not far from the center and the bus terminal. The inconvenience was that there was no socket near the bed.
Very clean place far away from the city centre. The beds have no curtains but they are provided with a little lamp and a plug. Several toilets available and a short front desk opening times
Very good quality / price relation. For relatively good price you will get a place to stay in very good location im Reykjavik. Short walk to The city center, bus station right around the corner
This hotel is excellent! Even though it has shared bathrooms, they are very convenient and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, allowing us to make breakfast and simple stir-fries for lunch
Excellent location very good service everything nice tidy and very respectfull staff
Hostel offers shared kitchen with everything you may need and multiple bathrooms

When we arrived I accidentally booked a day late but the receptionist immediately helped me fix it and even though we were like 4 hours early for check in they let us into our room! We booked a double room but got a free-of-charge upgrade
Both rooms had TVs and they were great. This hostel is right in the city centre and it's on the seafront. That does mean it's windy as hell when you step outside but the view makes up for it
It was better than we expected, friendly staff, clean amenities, spacious room, kitchen was provided as well, knowing everything is so expensive in Iceland, we can’t avoid to prepare our own food while getting ingredients from supermarket nearby
On my very first day, I bought a pizza without realizing there wasn’t actually an oven 😅
Instead of letting me feel awkward or disappointed, the person at reception immediately noticed and kindly showed me an alternative way to sort it out
Stayed here for 5 days during my recent to Iceland. Its very chic and comfy! Our room had a great view of the church! The staff are super friendly and helpful! Its affordable and quiet for a hostel
This place is amazing, book here if you're going to Reykjavik
Reykjavik, Karastigur 12, Midborg (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
This is hands down the best place to stay in Reykjavík and I’ve traveled here a few times and stayed at both hotels and BnB’s - nothing compares to the warmth of Our House which really is your home away from home
Also Bedda, the owner, is very help- and cheerful turning even the bleakest of Reykjavik's days into pure sunshine. Update: Coming back to Our House after four months really did feel like coming home
Cute little b&b in the heart of Reykjavík. Great price and awesome amenities, including a sauna. Kitchen was clean and well provisioned, though we only used the fridge and toaster and coffee maker.
The bathroom also has a sauna (!), and the rest of the facilities (kitchen, toilets, reception area, laundry, etc) is equipped with everything you need
Great, very hospitable place with all kinds of different guests make it feel like staying with a large, diverse international family
You’re 2 mins away from the coolest shops in Reykjavík including Sandholt cafe which is a must-visit for brunch or lunch

Because of this wonderfully welcoming atmosphere making friends and getting to know people. I'd recommended this hostel to anyone. It is spotlessly clean, accessible, and in a great location
Located in downtown Reykjavik, this little hostel still offers you a quiet environment for your stay. The owners are nice and friendly and also very caring about you
This is one of the friendliest places I've ever stayed. The owners work hard to ensure that everyone feels welcome and give some excellent travel advice for exploring Iceland
They offer you a bed in a small, clean building, which definitely is the best value for money you can get. I very much recommend you staying a few nights there!
Very clean facilities, and has a kitchen and fridge that every guest is free to use. Highly recommend staying here, especially for anyone on a budget
Fabulous location, affordable cost considering every other place in Reykjavik. The managers who work there are so accommodating and very friendly
