Faultless. Spotlessly clean. Warm. Spacious with a lovely balcony. Quiet. Very comfortable. Handy location - shops etc, public transport... Tea and coffee (fancy machine) topped up daily. Wonderful kitchen. Walking distance to 3 supermarkets. Full fridge/freezer. Mini bar stocked with all sorts! Flat walking. Lift too! Towels changed daily. Cosy duvet. Reception staff all friendly, helpful and obliging...
Apartment was great, as was the location. Only two minor adjustments I would make personally - put felt pads on all the furniture, this will reduce noise for the apartment below. Second is the shower, place a bracket at an angle for the hand held sprayer so it doesn’t just spray you vertically!
Good, well equipped facility in an excellent location. Good, courteous staff. Only downside is location works against you at weekends late at night with street noise (unless you're one of them of course), so perhaps not best for young families. Recommended.
Spacious and clean room. Very comfortable bed, great kitchen. Convenient location. Staff were professional and friendly. Very happy with our stay. Recommend highly. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
Staff were lovely and very helpful. Apartment was clean and spacious. No USB/USBC points though so take plugs. Garage was underneath the apartment so very handy. Would stay again if we returned.
The staff were very friendly and helpful: the room was spotless and cleaned each day. The hotel is the perfect location for exploring Reykjavík!

Excellent location, a couple of minutes walk from town. The rooms are clean and have everything that we needed. There's tea, coffee and a little carton of milk. It's warm and cosy, the bathrooms are clean, with underfloor heating. Kitchen is very well equipped. We are having a very enjoyable trip, thank you. Highly recommend 👌
Very cosy and comfy place in Reykjavik. We stayed here for 2 nights. Self check-in was very easy. The kitchen is well equipped and rooms is very comfy. The location is close to the city Center so you can go walking to all the places like the church, rainbow street. The place is very quiet as well.
Decent guesthouse at convenient location (10 mins walk from city center). Overall the whole building is very well maintained and clean. The kitchen is quite small for the amount of people that can stay here, but otherwise very well equipped. There are plenty of showers and toilets, all in great shape! Our room was super small, no place whatsoever to put our bags. Very inconvenient if you stay longer...
Staying at REFURINN Guesthouse was a wonderful experience. Owner Jay was very helpful. Property was very clean. Great locations to shopping and dining.
Great location and great staff
Near city center, has free car park and few minutes walk away provided you can find an available one. Room is clean, 3 toilets with 2 showers, upstairs 1 toilet with shower. Quite a few rooms sharing the amenities. Full kitchen though a bit small.

Even though the room was small, it was cozy and comfortable. The showroom was a bit old, but other than that, a very good value for money and the breakfast was amazing!!  Thank you very much. We’d love to stay again.
Excellent pancakes! Incredibly delicious breakfast.
This place made our trip to Iceland perfect. The host is a gentle and introverted man, but you can feel his passion for hospitality in the way he welcomes you. He truly did his best to make us feel at home. The breakfast was a highlight, particularly the pancakes which were amazing. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Lovely place full of an old fashioned Icelandic charm. The one thing I have against it is the red ants. They were in the room and breakfast area. They bite too!
Wonderful, helpful, delicious breakfast-comfortable bed- very happy and would stay there again—I lost my key to my suitcase and the host got tools to help me break my lock! Such relief!
Nice place to stay, friendly owners, good breakfast, wel located not too far from the center and close to the BSI bus station.

Close to the BSI main bus station (airport bus drop off) about 10-15min walk. Self check-in is possible if you arrive late in the evening. You will be given the passcodes for entrance to the building and also to the rooms. You just have to contact them. As for my room, I stayed in a single bed. It is small but all good. It has its own sink which is pretty useful for doing skin care. It also has cabinet...
Excellent location. Very near the BSI bus terminal. Getting around the city is easy on foot or by bus.
I think it's great for groups of friends traveling together. For couples, the room might be a bit basic, but the kitchen and laundry facilities are really convenient, making it perfect for a more budget-friendly trip.
1st night in Reykjavík, our room located at after entrance need to go down one floor with twist type staircase which is so torturing for us, due to 3 of us with three 28cm suitcase and also our hand carry bag. Kitchen and dining area was good and all kitchen utilities is fully equipped, we expected oil is provided but is not One small problem is the water shower is very slow and the shower curtain...
This hotel offers decent value for money in Iceland. The elderly gentleman at the reception provided excellent service. Although the bathrooms are shared, they were very clean. They also offer a €5 breakfast. The location is superb, within walking distance to both the bus station and city attractions. The only minor drawback is the soundproofing; you can hear footsteps in the hallway. Everything else...
The curtains in the room were broken, so we couldn't close it fully. The fridge was little smelly too. The water had a strong sulphur smell. The location was okay.

Place is clean and safe.10 minute Drive to Reykhavik. The property management is very responsive which i love easy to communicate.10/10
The view from the room was spectacular. We had a car and access to Reykjavík and out of town for sightseeing was very easy.
We had a room on floor 1. It was comfortable. The bed and shower/bathroom were good. It was clean. But note that this is budget accommodation with a worn headboard, old kitchen units, a bust window opener, a loose tap and a poorly secured fridge. Doubt much maintenance is done hence the cheaper price. It was in an unbeatable location, though, easy to park and just 15 minutes into downtown Reykjavik...
As 4 travelers, it was great to have a place we could all have our own beds without getting more than one room. Grocery right across the street, 1 block off the main bus line, a nice restaurant a couple doors down. Would definitely stay here again.
Our stay was ok. The bathroom was a bit of a mess—the shower didn’t drain properly and didn’t have a proper door. Dirty water pooled everywhere whenever we took a shower. The water all smelled sulfur-y and had a strong sulfur taste, so we ended up buying a bunch of bottled water from the grocery store. We were only there 2 nights but ran out of basics in the shower like soap. That being said, it’s...
Contact free flat. Clear instructions given on how to enter the property. Nice not to have to worry about taking a key out when exploring. The hot water was out in the whole area and we were informed of this. However, when we were able, the shower was amazingly powerful. We enjoyed your stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. The parking available is free street parking, we went in late February 2026 and had no issue with finding a park close by. Rooms were quiet and safe. Good heating and a large bathroom. On our first night we had issues with the shower water not draining, we emailed and they had it fixed within hours. Although this wasn't communicated to us which was disappointing...
Very nice guesthouse situated in a quiet area, yet close to central city. Owners contacted us before arrival to instruct about access to our room. When leaving, my daughter forgot her gloves and hat in the room. The owner contacted us and arranged sending the items to Sweden. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The hosts are also very kindhearted and let us keep our luggage there post check out while we went on a day trip. Thorey and her husband go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and special.
This suited us perfectly for a three night stay. The building looks great from the outside. The room was a little quirky but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and if you like a cheeky afternoon nap (like me) the sofa is also comfortable. Easy to check in and out. No hassle or fuss.
Our family stayed in a 3-bed apartment and it was absolutely perfect for us. Could not have asked for better setup for our group. The room and bathrooms were very clean, high ceilings, windows that could be opened to let crisp air in, quiet residential neighborhood, and within walking distance to downtown. Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again. The breakfast was a big highlight, it’s not very often a hotel breakfast tastes like a home cooked meal!
Originally we did not receive the code for the floor door, but the help we received was good. The room itself was very neat and tidy, and had all the equipments we need to make our stay comfortable. There is a bonus 5 mins walk away if you need anything and the location of the hotel is ideal.

Such a cozy spot! Very clean, comfy beds. Host was very quick to respond to email. Loved the shared living space, fast wifi. Kitchen had everything we needed and more! A short walk down town, would definitely recommend.
Very cosy place. They have warm rooms all the time. Big comfort kitchen and a lobby with a lovely cat. The location is perfect for short walks to the center. They have always warm coffee for the guests. The rooms are clean and the shared bathroom is clean with warm water all the time. I would definitely recommend it and i will come back to this next time.
Located just a short walk from the Cathedral, the Baldursbra guesthouse is ideal for the budget traveller, the rooms a quite big, and the room we had a small sink and mirror for brushing you teeth before bed or doing makeup. Very cosy place, a bit small, so I would only recommend it if you're planning to only sleep there. Got a nice gift when I entered my room. The location is a bit hidden in between buildings, but you will get a mail with good directions before you are able to check in. Very friendly owner, and she will contact you if needed. Basically wouldn't expect more for this generous price
The hotel had poor soundproofing and no front desk, so those who don't speak English well should probably think twice before choosing it. The owner was very nice and let me check in early. It's very close to the church. After taking the airport bus to the last stop, it's about a kilometer away. I took a taxi, which cost 90 RMB.
Our room was 102. King bed. Very clean. Shared bathroom, but not a problem.
The location is the big plus for this property, however, if you want quiet between 8pm - 11pm, this is not ideal without ear plugs due to live music at the local bars. The property details do not specifically say it's a shared bathroom/shower so that was a surprise. The property also provided the door code to the wrong door so I was glad I had a working phone and they answered promptly to provide...
Very cute and cozy house in the city centre of Reykjavik. The kitchen is very basic but it had all we needed. Room was spacious and clean. The house is very quiet but you can hear noise from the other rooms on the same floor. There is only one toilet though, so it’s easy to find it occupied in the morning. Very kind host, quick to reply.
Good location, very clean and convenient check-in. The room is small, and since it's an attic, the roof is slanted, so it's easy to hit your head if you're not careful. There is a small open space outside the window with a nice view.

This is not a 5 star accommodation as in luxury etc. But it by no means deserved a 4 star review , so I had to give it 5. Lovely and cosy and clean. Very very helpful and friendly staff. We also had the breakfast basket added and it was fantastic, such a lovely treat every day. Would highly recommended both for couples and especially for families.
We absolutely loved our apartment which had a separate double bedroom and twin beds in the living area. Having a sofa, kitchen and dining table was lovely - it felt like being at home. the breakfast baskets delivered to our door were very generous and good quality. The kids loved having a PlayStation! Good location close to the main shopping street and places to eat. Highly recommended.

Wish they had some signage so we would have known we were standing across the street when we asked a stranger if they knew where the place was. The shower was tiny and water flooded the floor no matter what we did to keep it from happening. Great location.
Wonderful location just off the center of the city. Comfortable and clean apartment. Felt very safe for a solo traveler. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave. I didn’t use the other appliances. This is a great option in Reykjavik--the location is wonderful and the price is quite reasonable, especially since you get a lot more space than in a normal hotel room. More like a backpackers hostel than a guest house. Clean but very basic - especially considering the price. Tiny bathroom (no problem for us - but a larger person would not squeeze through the shower door). There is a shared kitchen with a coffee machine which is a plus. On the downside, it's all pretty basic and the owners aren't very responsive - I had to email on the day of arrival to beg for the door code that should have been emailed more than 24 hours ago and despite warning them first when I booked and then again when I asked for the code that I'd be arriving around 2am (having previously stayed here and knowing the system), my room card had been removed from...
Entry was a bit rundown and 2 flights of stairs to climb. Facilities clean and quiet. Shared bathroom and kitchen. Check-in instructions clear and easy to follow. Good location for shopping, restaurants and bus pickup.
Sleeping was challenging The guesthouse has no control over the music coming from the street (teenagers playing loud music across the street until very late at night) or the bar downstairs, nor can they do anything about the noise of the pipes. While a bit cozy and squeaky in places, this was an affordable space for my family in the heart of Reykjavik - close to everything we wanted to see.
The location is okay, there are several good restaurants nearby, but the overall environment is poor, maybe because the building is old. The heating was not very good and the room was very cold. There is no elevator, so you need to carry your suitcase upstairs. All in all I don't think it's worth it compared to the price of ninety pounds a night.
Great spot in downtown Reykjavik. Bus stops just outside to get around the city, to/from the airport. Easy walk to the main city centre, waterfront, and more.
