RIHGA Royal Hotel Kokura in Kitakyushu

Great view with great service.
It was a nice place to relax 🤗

We booked a 3-bed room for one night. The location was excellent—right next to the subway station—and the outlet was also nearby.

The reception staff were very helpful. In particular, the receptionist assisted us in booking a French restaurant. As you may know, Japan often requires reservations 1–2 days in advance, but she managed to secure a table for us on the same night.

The hotel also offered a special dinner set at each restaurant. We truly enjoyed the dinner set while watching the sunset and fireworks from the 28th floor. The food at the French restaurant was excellent.

Although I can’t remember the receptionist’s name, her attitude and assistance were greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Lastly, the sauna and spa required an extra charge. My personal feeling is that the surcharge was a bit expensive for hotel guests. If Trip.com or the hotel could offer a bundle package including the room charge plus sauna & spa access, that would be wonderful.

We booked one night in this hotel. The room size is as stated , very spacious with a beautiful view of the city, the room can even sleep for 3 persons. Toilet is clean although it’s an old style and design with a bathtub.
Breakfast have western and Japanese food , eggs have a few ways to cook and will deliver to your table after order. Service is good.
This hotel is next to the train station. A convenience store is just located in the middle of passage connecting to the hotel and station.
Free parking is available in the hotel, which is very convenience for guests with cars.

Reception at 4 pm was slow and it was necessary for several guests to wait for the two reception people even though they had three other people greeting guests.

The nearby Shinkansen station provides easy access to the hotel which is an easy 5-10 minutes walk.

Wifi worked well and the air conditioning was good especially in the cold weather. Rooms are a good size and in good condition with above average views.
House keeping was also good, though guests need to request daily services by placing a card on the room door otherwise daily service is not provided.

The four lifts provided an efficient service. I didn’t have breakfast on this occasion but have had it in the past and it’s of a good quality and high standard. The staff are lovely and caring.

The location is good being near the main Shinkansen station. Beyond the station there are shopping centres and street malls with a variety of restaurants and shops to meet most people’s needs.

There are also many nearby restaurants that should suit most people’s cuisine, budget and type of food.

Buses and subway stations are nearby and provide access to various parts of the city. There are several attractions within 30-60 minutes of the hotel such as temples and museums.

Overall a pleasant stay and happy to visit again.

This hotel is excellent! The room is spacious, and the bathroom is huge. The night view from the window is beautiful. It's right next to Kokura Station, which makes getting around super convenient. Breakfast was also very good and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again.

+ The location of the hotel was superb. There is a rooftop walkway from the station to the hotel, so there’s no need to worry about rain or bad weather. I was offered a room on the 17th floor, and the view was great. The check-out time is 11 a.m., which was perfect for me—especially when traveling with an infant, as mornings can feel rushed.
- The carpet on the second floor was a bit dirty and needs cleaning.

If I hadn't stayed at a Hilton previously, I probably would have thought this place was quite good. However, compared to the Hilton, the facilities here feel a bit dated, which is understandable given it's an older hotel. The location is excellent though, with plenty of dining options nearby. It's very convenient for both driving and using public transport. Getting to Kitakyushu Outlet and Shimonoseki Port from here is also a breeze. Overall, for a place like Kokura, the value for money at this hotel is pretty good.

Probably the best hotel in Kokura,rooms are huge and spacious,hotel is a proper 4/5 star hotel. Will definitely stay again as the top choice in Kokura.
