We also really liked the robes they gave us for our stay at the hotel; we felt like locals.
The outdoor bathroom floor was incredibly slippery. While showering at night, countless flying insects and moths swarmed around me. Every time I opened the sliding door, insects flew in – it was disgusting…
It was just a typical tatami room at a Japanese inn, but compared to other hotels I've stayed at, such as the Atagawa-kan in Atagawa, the Yuraku-so-an in Jozankei, Sapporo, and the Takinoya in Noboribetsu, this place was simply terrible. The service was poor, and the environment was awful. I even slipped and fell after soaking in the hot spring at night – a very embarrassing experience. I woke up early the next morning, ate breakfast, and wanted to go back to sleep, only to find my blankets had already been taken away. I was exhausted. Dinner I ordered was also mediocre. Perhaps Hokkaido has spoiled me too much. 🥲
