Guesthouse KYOTO COMPASS - Hostel in Kyoto

This is my first time staying at a guesthouse in Japan, and this place has been the best. Thank you, Mama and Papa, for your wonderful hospitality.

Five-star recommendation, the owner of the homestay is a very kind and friendly couple, suitable for friends who travel alone.
Facilities: There are two floors in total, with two bathrooms and two toilets. Most of the time, there is no need to queue. There are also many free snacks to eat. The walls are decorated with banknotes, coins from various countries, and hand-painted by guests.
Hygiene: The sanitation is cleaned every morning, and the public areas are very clean.
Environment: There is a small Japanese courtyard, which is beautiful on rainy days. The room is very warm. The location is not as convenient as Sijo, but it is okay to have buses around.
Service: This is important to say that the boss is really nice. I received a hand-painted card with my name on it the next morning. It was really touching to experience this warmth in a foreign country. Every day when I come back from outside, I will hear "Welcome back" and see two smiling faces. My roommates have always been Chinese, and it is also a different experience to communicate with different friends every day. I left here today and changed my residence and felt a little uncomfortable.
Finally, I wish mama and papa good health and happiness.

Papa and mama is very friendly to every visitors. I’m come to Kyoto without any itinerary plans and mama did told me which tourist spots to avoid and which is a must. If you love peace and calm you should definitely stay at here.

I got a lot of positive emotions from staying here!
Of course, you still have to understand that this is a place where you live together with other people, but here it is more of a plus than a minus!

The breakfast is delicious, there is an opportunity to give clothes for washing, convenient bus stations are nearby, you can take a bike.

Very good host, warms the heart of the tired traveler. It is a warm experience to chat with friends at night. The host asked me which one is better, "Empresses in the Palace" or "Joy of Life". I laughed to death. Who will recommend it to me next time?

Mama and Baba are both extremely enthusiastic. When Mama takes the initiative to introduce and chat, she will also tell you that if you feel lonely, you can talk to her. In the evening, Mama's daughter has a birthday, and everyone will drink and chat together. The breakfast is extremely rich, and we can eat the only fruit in Japan. Baba will also hand-make postcards for each guest. In a word, it is really great~

I really like this place. I mingled with Mana Baba just a few minutes after I arrived. The only thing I don’t like about Japan is that it’s too quiet and doesn’t talk. But when I get here, it’s like I’m at home. I can open up the conversation box and chat. Dad likes to adjust the atmosphere. They grow tea for us to drink, and my mother makes a very rich breakfast. Unlike other places, we like to sit in the living room and chat as soon as we get home after playing outside for a day. We like it very much. I will stay here again when I come to Kyoto in the future.

Mama & Papa are the kindest hosts ever! They made the trip in Japan so much worthwhile! It is one of the best hostels I've stayed in mostly because of Mama & Papa! They really make you feel at home, and you get to experience the whole Japanese culture :)). Lovely! Definitely recommend and will for sure stay with them again when I'm in Kyoto! Papa and mama were very friendly, wholeheartedly welcoming you after a long day of travel.

My best choice that I take this guest house during my travel! Mama and Papa were super nice and all the things in this house was totally Japanese (also very clean and comfortable!!). I’ll come here again when I travel in Kyoto next time ♡
