Kyoto, Higashikujo Kamitonoda-cho 48-1, Minami Ward (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
great location,
nice room and onsen,
free ice cream, matcha and coffee
Love the pillow choices, toothbrush choices. Only the toilet before checked in was just one unit and had to wait to freshen up!
The hotel's best asset is its location, right across from Kyoto Station, making travel incredibly convenient. It's also only about 100 meters from the Kansai Airport Limousine Bus stop. Plus, there's a popular restaurant nearby that's open until 11 PM.
Very nice hotel… just opposite train station… and Japanese breakfast …
Free coffee service from 3 PM to 10 PM, and 6 AM to 12 noon (machine also provides match latte, cappuccino, espresso, strong coffee, mild coffee). Also, free ice pops in 4 flavors. Check in and check out can be fully automated, but there are also receptionist in the lobby. Has public bath on the first floor with Mikimoto based body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Just a few steps from the pedestrian...
Location is perfect, it is just next to the Kyoto station, good for commute between places. The onsen is a plus after a long day of sightseeing

Otsu, 2-1-28 Nagara (in the centre) 🧭 Map
This hotel perfect for a stay out from bustling Kyoto city. a bit far, but very good location if you dont mind 10mins walk to JR station.
It was far from any station, about a 12-minute walk. It was also a bit far to call a taxi, and carrying heavy luggage was tiring.
Being a Toyoko Inn, there's nothing wrong with the hotel itself. The rooms are clean and the service is also excellent.
The only downside is the location.
It's a bit far from both JR Otsu Station and Keihan Biwako-Hamaotsu Station, so it might be a bit difficult if you have luggage or during hot or cold seasons.
Also, there are no convenience stores nearby, so you might find it inconvenient if you...
Self-check-in was available, but the service was quite good.
There was a water dispenser and a small seating area.
The room was a bit more spacious than typical Japanese rooms, but there was only one elevator, so the wait was quite long. The breakfast was simple and delicious.
It's a few minutes' walk from the station, and there's a small shopping street nearby.
My room was in front of the air conditioner unit storage area, so the view from the window was terrible.
Apparently there are rooms with views of Lake Biwa, so I wish they'd let me choose the view I wanted.
Even though I asked if I wanted a room with a good view when I checked in...
I wish they'd explained to me that, if there was an air conditioner unit outside the window, unfortunately there were...
High C/P. So rush hour it is hard to take elevator

Kyoto, 3 Higashikujo Shimotonoda-cho, Minami-ku (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just about a ten-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station and a mere five minutes from Aeon Mall, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, and subway and Kintetsu stations are also nearby. The hotel breakfast is also great, offering a good variety of both Japanese and Western options, and the service is very attentive...
The room is spacious and cozy.
It’s near the Kyoto station, transport is very convenient.
Staff are helpful.
The bus stop is right outside the hotel, and the subway is just a few minutes' walk away, making transportation very convenient. There's also a large Aeon supermarket about a 5-minute walk away, with a great selection of beef and sashimi. Staying at this hotel is very convenient.
The room was quite small, and they didn't even provide toothbrushes or toothpaste. The Wi-Fi was also unstable. The only good thing was that it was cheap.
We stayed at Green Rich Hotel Kyoto for two nights, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. It was truly one of my favourite hotels — and that’s saying a lot, considering I’m a seasoned traveler who has visited 36 countries.
Location: The hotel is conveniently situated about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, with multiple bus stops located right at the entrance. Getting around...
The room was small but tidy, though the bathroom was extremely tiny, almost like one on a cruise ship. It had cooking facilities, but no stove.

Hotel was really good and convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
The room was clean and nice. There was a convenience store nearby, which was convenient. I went by car, and the parking attendant was very kind, explaining the nearby parking lots in detail and checking their availability, which was a great help.
Had a quick one night stay in this hotel and enjoyed it.
I was expecting older room type that I saw in photos, but I got a nice renovated room that is the same as new APA hotels.
The location is very convenient, but be careful as there is another APA hotel literally on the other side of the road - this one is the smaller one.
Unfortunately there are no washing machines available.
The breakfast is...
I was generally satisfied except for the fact that the front desk was a bit cramped.
It's easily accessible from the station.
I'd like to use it again.
Good and comfortable stay, but needs improvement. The cleaning staff showed unprofessional attitude. I had put my full trash bag outside my door for collection. It did get collected, however they simply threw another trash disposal bag into my garbage bin and left it there for me to open and wrap into the bin. Since they had entered my room to do the needful, how many seconds would it have taken them...
Great service and I love that they installed filtered and purified water in the shower that you can use for drinking. They have a cafe right down the lobby which has really good and affordable coffee, matcha etc. It’s about 3mins walk to the train station and they have a couple of convenient store nearby within walking distance. The one downside we found is they don’t have any laundry services within...

Beautifully designed hotel in a quiet area but very conveniently located (15 min walk from station). I love the onsen and afternoon drinks in the comfortable cafe. Highly recommend the Japanese breakfast.
Love the ambience of the Hotel!
Close to bus stop station and love the ONSEN!
Stayed for several nights in December — very good location for many attactions and Kyoto station in walking distance. Staff was very helpful with the luggage and treats, also warned about free calligraphy lesson in dinning area which was additional impression during my stay!
Good hotel, breakfast was very limited. There were 2 types of breakfast Japanese and American
Excellent hotel overall, in my opinion. As a family of four, two adults and two toddlers, the room we received was too small. We could not find a place to store our luggages.
Really enjoyed this hotel. Around 1 km walk from Kyoto Station. Breakfast was good, bed was comfy, and I loved the natural feel — zen garden, onsen, and the hotel smells nice too.

If you are planing a cheap hotel near Kyoto I recommend this one. Literally the hotel is in the station just get the elevator and go down and there you go you arrive attge station and after 2 stops 9 minutes you arrive at Kyoto station.
Located behind the JR station which could take you to anywhere outside the town. Need to walk to other location within the town as there's no connecting train. The hotel is rather old but is ok to stay at affordable price. A restraurant within the hotel that serve good food.
The location right next to the station is super convenient. The front desk staff were also excellent.
Great stay! Very convenient location close to the station.

This is a clean, standard business hotel with complimentary coffee. It was very convenient to have a coin parking lot right next door, as I drove there. I might have just missed them, but I didn't see any convenience stores or train stations nearby. However, if you take a taxi, it's a convenient location to reach both Gion and Kyoto Station. Most of the guests were foreigners, and perhaps by chance...
Clean and spacious, with a quiet surroundings. The front desk staff were very attentive! 👏🏻👏🏻
The location is a bit of a walk, situated between Kyoto Station and the city center, which was a slight drawback. While the lack of nearby restaurants is a disadvantage, the hotel itself is pleasant and clean, making for a comfortable stay.
Really great! Clean, comfortable, and bright! The lighting is fantastic (even captured my friend's bed🤣)
Nice location, near bus and metro station, also the receiptionist are super friendly, we can check in early even if it is 7AM. 😍🙏
I still wouldn't recommend staying here if you're driving, as parking is expensive and very limited. Housekeeping only changed the towels and made the bed, but didn't replace the mouthwash cups. On the plus side, they provided two bottles of water in the room daily. Hygiene was perfectly fine, and there was a bathtub in the room. The downsides were that transportation was a bit inconvenient, the convenience...

The hotel has an excellent location right in the city center, with everything within easy reach. It is modern, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfasts can become a bit repetitive over six days, but we were never left hungry.

Loved this hotel and everything about it. Rarely would I stay at a hotel again, but for Hotel Musse I will for sure return. The location is excellent, amenities are self service on the 2nd floor, love the shampoo/conditioner/body wash that the hotel provides. Everything was very convenient. The hotel is only 5 mins walk to our metro station. Hotel was nice just the internet service was not really that fast but overall was ok.
Stayed at Park Hotel Kyoto and had a really great experience. The place had such a good vibe from the moment I arrived. The environment is comfortable and clean. You can have a rest and coffee in the lobby downstairs.
Excellent location and clearness, good value for money
One of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed in, centrally and conveniently located. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
There are two key things to be aware of when booking this hotel:
First, regarding occupancy: If you are traveling as a couple, you absolutely *must* book for two people. Even if you reserve a twin room, failure to book for two will result in an additional per-person fee and taxes being charged upon arrival.
Second, concerning housekeeping: Our room was not cleaned once during our three-day stay....
A truly comfortable stay. The hotel boasts a fantastic design aesthetic, from the lobby to the rooms, seamlessly blending Japanese aesthetics with modern design. The in-room lighting is superb, and both the bed and sofa were incredibly comfortable. The space is generous enough for two people, so it never felt cramped. The location is superb; it's in a quiet area, yet just a short walk to bustling areas...
An excellent hotel. This chain is consistently reliable, so you can't go wrong. The price offers incredible value for money, especially for Kyoto. I recommend booking on a weekday. The facilities are excellent, and the rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy. It's quite popular with Western (European and American) tourists.

The bedroom was clean. I liked that they provided pajamas. The service was quite good. The location is great, right on a street with lots of shops.
Amazing location. Clean room. Helpful front desk. Room is on the smaller side for 2 people with big luggages, but for the price, it really is worth it.
Front desk staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Managed to check us in around less than 10mins. Very smooth check in and check out. Room was also just nice for solo travellers. Will definitely go to the same hotel on my next visit to Kyoto 😊
This hotel exceeded my expectations. It's great value for money and super convenient for shopping and dining. I'd definitely book it again if there's availability next time I'm in Kyoto. The single room wasn't small at all, and it's right near Daimaru Department Store.

The facilities are a bit dated, but the environment is nice, the room is spacious, and the breakfast tastes great.

Good foods and excellent view.
service is not detailed, , no coffee to be provided for breakfast, room is old, food is so so, hot spring is good, spacious outdoor
The free call service from the station is very convenient for travellers who come to stay but not driving. Both the breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The in-room onsen with jacuzzi and the beautiful landscape is spectacular. The public onsen is also clean and well maintained.
The only flaw is tv in the room is rather old and would appreciate an upgrade.n

Clean and tidy room with nice breakfast. Very local cuisine style of breakfast with some western style bread.
Conveniently located, just a 2-minute walk to the subway station. The room size was perfectly adequate for one person, which is good considering Japanese rooms are typically small. The bathtub was also comfortable for a soak. The only downside was the rather mediocre breakfast.
Room is clean and hotel is near to subway station. Highly recommended to those who wanna stay in Kyoto. Free green tea and coffee available as well.
The coffee machine at the entrance offers great sports drinks that are refreshing and quench your thirst, and the service is excellent. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to quickly transfer to the subway. Plus, it's super convenient to borrow an umbrella from the front desk when it rains – huge bonus! A good place — workers on reception were helpful and kind. I liked the underground lounge zone with free drinks. Room was normal and warm. Recommend it!
We stayed 2 nights and we got a nice room on the 11th floor. Rooms are large for Japan standard, you can have space for 2 big luggage’s on the floor.
