The main advantage of this hotel is the location in the old parts of town, which means that you can walk to several of the attractions. For example, there was a great temple and museum right behind the hotel. Some of the rooms are very small though. I would recommend paying extra to get a little larger room otherwise you will feel like you’re in a boat cabin

The hotel is a few minutes walk from Arashiyama Station which is very convenient. It is a very quiet area but across the Togetsu-kyo Bridge is the busy tourist area with shops and food. This is the inn where my child stayed on a school trip when he was in elementary school. It's very close to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for sightseeing. For dinner, we had sukiyaki. There was more than enough meat for our family of four. It was a great deal and delicious. For breakfast, we had chawanmushi and miso soup with yuba, which was very satisfying.

The hiking above Mii Dera temple was amazing. A lot of hiking options for outdoor enthusiasts. The Mii Dera temple is also not crowded and a joy to stroll around 20 minutes walk from hotel koo.

I stayed at the Chaya house which was absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and a joy to speak with. Otsu is a smaller quiet town with lots of character and friendly residents. I highly recommend checking out the local Izakayas and cafes for an equally excellent experience.

We loved our stay at hotel koo. It was the perfect combination between japanese traditional house and modern scandinave touch. We felt so at peace in this room, a perfect moment of relaxation. Bed was really confortable and the room so big. The staff were super welcoming and it’s nice to have free homemade snacks and drinks. I definitely recommend this hotel to design lovers

My husband and my experience here was absolutely incredible! The facility in the main area and our room was wonderfully lovely and high quality. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. We celebrated my husband's birthday here and everything was perfect!

In 2 words: simply amazing. We stayed here for 1 night, perfect to get away from the hustle & bustle of the big cities. Within easy reach by public transportation from Kyoto (20min by train) or even Osaka, I would definitely recommend this place. The smaller city is quaint with some traditional parts. I was very satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable and the space was quiet, allowing for a very relaxing rest. All the facilities worked well, the bathroom was clean, and the hot water was stable.

Stayed here with my partner and really enjoyed it. It’s about a 10–12 minute walk from Kyoto Station, and roughly 10 minutes to Pontocho and the main central area. Most major temples are only a 10–15 minute Uber ride away, so getting around was easy. If you want to stay right in the absolute middle of everything, you might prefer somewhere more central. But for us, staying slightly local was perfect...

Very good location, very clean and very friendly staff. Would recommend staying here but the Laundry was kind of expensive it was 700 yen for a wash and dry 😞😞

The room was comfortable and clean. Although it's a bit far from the bustling city center, the surrounding area is quiet and perfect for rest. The room was fully equipped. The staff were also very friendly and patient during self-check-in. I highly recommend staying here!!!!!
