Kyoto, 51 Okazaki Higashitennocho, Sakyo Ward (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Fortunately they booked us into a brand newly renovated room. Room smells spanky new, located is great for us as we can easily catch different buses to different corners of Kyoto to visit the major sites
On the plus side, there's a shuttle service from Tokyo Station, though it's not very frequent. The hotel also has a large public bath, which is wonderful for relaxing after a day of walking
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Heian No Mori Kyoto Hotel! The place was clean, comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved our time here and will definitely come back again! 🌸😊
Overall environment is quiet, gives you a relaxing and calm vibe. The staff members are very polite and helpful. Unfortunately the west wing is under renovation now but it does not really affect the good experience
But I could still hear snoring from the next room. Also, this area is considered a high-end residential neighborhood in Kyoto, so you won't find many fast-food joints or snack shops around
Now that I've stayed twice, I want to give a more thorough review of its pros and cons. On the downside, the rooms aren't very soundproof. However, guests generally quiet down after 11 PM
Kyoto, 20-4 Sujakudonokuchicho, rayon Simogyo, 600-8842 Kioto, Prefektura Kioto, Yaponiya (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
There are plenty of restaurants nearby, along with several 7-11 convenience stores. The room is very spacious, quiet, and comfortable. It is well maintained and cleaned thoroughly every day, making the stay very pleasant
The room was spacious, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, with the shower area being quite large. The room overlooked the fish market, and the hotel is right next to the Railway Museum
The breakfast was delicious, and my family especially loved the grilled saury. The service was friendly, and we even received dining vouchers. There are multiple restaurants downstairs to choose from
The staff was amazing and some of the most helpful that I’ve experienced. I wish I had photos to show of how amazing the room was, but even the bathroom was bigger than the other hotels we’ve stayed in Japan as well
This hotel deserves a glowing review, no question about it! The location is super convenient, right outside Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station on the San-in Line, and next to the Railway Museum
The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and attentive; they remember guests' needs, which is a really thoughtful touch. Honestly, staying here made me love Kyoto even more!
Kyoto, 445-3 Myohoin Maekawa-cho (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel was pretty good overall. Its location is excellent, very close to Sanjusangendo Temple. The front desk staff, a lovely lady from China, was very thoughtful and helpful
The experience is amazing. The room, the garden, the staffs and the location (outside the center so we can relax) are perfect. We had a garden-view room with a balcony that we could enjoy our drinks very relaxing!
Where everyone can call luxury hotel. The staff is very warm welcome. Location is nice. Bedding and amenities is good high brand. Recommend for who like to living in the luxury hotel.
The environment is very good. Most of the service staff are Southeast Asians. Their service is not as meticulous as that of the Japanese, but it is also very good.
Terrence is comfortable with a nice view over the garden and Japanese not call amenities. Maiko performance are available on Tuesdays and Sundays
However, the weather was not so good. The hotel is not too far from Kyoto station but not close to any major attractions by walking
Kyoto, 341 Shimizu-Cho Kawaramachi-Dori, Nijyo-Agaru, Nakagyo Ward (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The only downside was the subpar soft service. Halfway through my stay, my own towel went missing. I suspect it got mixed up with the hotel towels, but this level of housekeeping service is simply unprofessional
The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious! So worth it! My daughter said she wants to stay here again next time we visit Kyoto! Too bad I forgot to take pictures of the amazing breakfast
The hotel is situated in the relatively quiet area of Nijo, yet it's still within walking distance of Kawaramachi. Walking back to the hotel along the Kamo River or the small stream nearby every day was very pleasant
This hotel is fantastic! The decor is new and has a wonderful Japanese aesthetic. When you walk into the room, there's no unpleasant smell at all – it's very clean, and the bedding is super comfortable
Before check-in, I emailed them to confirm the private shower facilities in the room and the extra bed, and they responded promptly. However, I do want to complain about Ctrip's customer service here
The hotel is new and very clean, with comfortable rooms. The only downside is that it doesn't have a window. They offer free coffee and a public bath. Overall, it's excellent.
Kyoto, 26-1 Higashikujo Nishiiwamotocho, rayon Minami, 601-0000 Kioto, Prefektura Kioto, Yaponiya (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The very attentive staff handed me a towel to dry off. Next time I am in Kyoto, this will be the main place that I stay. Very nice large room with bath and a shower room. Everything extremely clean and well looked after
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, where the hospitality truly stood out. The front desk staff greeted me with the warmest smile one that never faded and offered an ice cold towel to wipe off the summer sweat
Located behind Kyoto Station, I got a bit lost trying to find it the first time, but once I knew where it was, it was easy to get to. It's very close to Kyoto Station, clean, and most importantly, quiet
Wonderful hotel, very short walk to Kyoto station. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I left my luggage there for storage and by the evening when i came to collect i has been soaked by the Kyoto rains
One of the best hotels I have ever been to! The location was close to the Kyoto Central train station! The staff were super nice, kind and respectful! Our room was relatively big and had enough space
I had some time before check-in and was waiting, but they let me check in a little early. The room was clean, and I liked that it had a window. If I go to Kyoto again, I'd probably stay here again
Kyoto, Kamiosakacho, San Tiao Shang ruShang Da Ban Ting 509Fan Di , rayon Nakagyo, 604-8001 Kioto, Prefektura Kioto, Yaponiya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
This hotel is great in many ways. The location is excellent: the subway, the Keihan light rail, the airport limo bus stop are near. Shopping and nightlife are walkable. It occupies a peaceful spot overlooking the river
I was very pleased with the hotel room design, comfort and space. The parking is first come first serve even though I had requested for it earlier so I had to park elsewhere for the first few nights
However, if you have luggage, would suggest to go via exit 3, take the lift to another hotel lobby (I can’t recall the hotel name). Solaris is across the street from this hotel. I don’t see any lift if taking exit 1
Food
I did not order breakfast from the hotel. There are cafes around and at the underground mall. The hotel will provide you with a list of cafes and restaurants serving local Kyoto food and other cuisines
Amenities
Good selection and of good quality. They use Laura Ashley toiletries. Amenities can be picked up at the reception - you take what you need - hair band, cotton pads/buds, toothbrush, comb etc
Very good stay, hotel staff very friendly. Room room size is okay for 2 pax.
Just by the Kamo River, love the morning walks just by the river. Food and shopping conveniently by the hotel location.
Kyoto, 272-6 Shijyohorikawa-Cho (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Surrounded by many eateries, convenience store and supermarkets (life) and near train stations. Come with public bath and sauna separated by gender.
Only cons is that you can smell cigarettes in the lobby.
I booked this through Ctrip's group buy, and it was excellent value for money. Although the room was small, it was very well-designed. It was also very convenient and safe for my child to stay there alone
The location is great, nestled between Hankyu Shijo-Omiya and Karasuma, making it easy to walk to both. This is super convenient for getting between Osaka Umeda and Kyoto Kawaramachi
The Hankyu Line and Karasuma Subway Line are both within a ten-minute walk from the hotel. The LIFE supermarket and convenience stores are also very close by
the hotel strategic location easy to acssess other location near conbination store family mart
Plus, there's a Shijo-Horikawa bus stop right downstairs that goes to Kyoto Station
Kyoto, 284 Nijoaburanokojicho (in the centre) 🧭 Map
There was a sauna, a spacious bath, and a space to relax. There was even a fruit platter, and I was glad I went in. For me, it was an incredibly luxurious trip
Hotel Mitsui is a very new and well designed property. Using the spa though, the Japanese soaking pool, is troublesome, so we didn’t
I don't like crowded places so I had ruled this place out as a possibility, but the reviews were so good that I decided to go. Since it was the off-season, early check-in and a room upgrade were guaranteed in advance
An absolute must-stay for maximum indulgence and relaxation. Love the private onsen spa! It's a delightful stay with a marvelous location.
There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc
The staffs were really helpful and kind. Parking was easy with valley parking available. We did however got complaints when kids were being kids in the room. I didn’t think the kids were making excessive noise though
Kyoto, Mukadeyacho, 387, Nakagyo Ward (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The room was a bit small, but the service was exceptional. They offered complimentary tea and coffee, free Japanese ochazuke (rice with green tea) as a late-night snack, and we even caught a Kabuki performance
As a hypersensitive person, this was the feature I appreciated the most. • Great Amenities & Meals: The evening meal service was fantastic. We really enjoyed the free snacks, wine, and the late-night Ochazuke
We stayed during a busy holiday weekend and the hotel was quite busy. Despite that, it was easy to use the hotel amenities (public bath, free coffee and tea and snack service) without feeling rushed or overcrowded
5/10)
Our stay in Kyoto was wonderful, and I’d highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It has a private, calm, and clean atmosphere. Most of the staff were very professional and provided excellent service
This specific interaction made me feel a bit discriminated against. Final Verdict
Otherwise, it would have been a perfect experience. If this service issue is addressed, this hotel is truly a gem in Kyoto
What I Liked the Most
• Exceptional Soundproofing: During our two-night stay, we never heard any noise from the neighboring rooms—not even the sound of running water, which I often encounter elsewhere
Kyoto, 179 Higashi Kazariya-Cho, Gojo-Dori, Shimogyo-Ku (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
When i leaved the hotel i remembered that i forget my jacket in the nice closet of the room so i explained it to the staff and i had no problem with this, they gave me the key again and i can bring my jacket again
So, the staff was very friendly
This hotel was excellent, we certainly didn't expect anything this nice when we were booking for the price that we paid for the hotel. The lobby was gorgeous and the service was excellent
It's about a 20 min or so walk to the main station, but the hotel is convenient to a subway entrance if you wanted to take that instead. We were easily able to access everything in Kyoto
Good location and staff were welcoming. Facilities of the hotel are nice and communication from staff was great. Only thing was when we checked in the room was dirty and the bathroom smelled
Well, the place has big and luxury elevators
I payed a room with private toilet and big bed with radio side table, the room was very large and had a desk, a tv And a closet too
The washing machines was very modern and they had built-in dryer. The only bad point was the carpet next to the side table had a stain but when i leave the hotel the staff gave me a form where i wrote this little issue
We mistakenly thought the drop-off point for the shuttle at Otsu Station was the pick-up point, and the driver kindly took our luggage and explained that the pick-up was across the street, without being rigid about making us go there
I loved everything about this hotel. The cleanliness was outstanding — easily one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff provided great service and were always helpful and friendly
I used a pre-purchased room voucher, and it was such an amazing deal! The hotel is right near Otsu Station and is absolutely beautiful. The room was huge, with a direct view of Lake Biwa
Service: Warm and friendly ❤️
Definitely lives up to its reputation as a long-standing hotel. The scenery by Lake Biwa is stunning. Standing on the balcony, the view is picturesque
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the train station, which made getting around very convenient. The food was delicious, especially the breakfast, with good quality and variety
My daughter went to buy something from a vending machine and met a staff member who bowed 90 degrees to her; she came back telling me how polite they were
Kyoto, Kamihakusancho, 249, rayon Nakagyo, 604-0943 Kioto, Prefektura Kioto, Yaponiya (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
I found the facilities to be very well kept and was a nice balance of modern and traditional design elements. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar and a number of entertainment options throughout the week
The spa was very nice and the PJs in room with towel bag is a nice touch. It’s not in the thick of everything but close enough. As big station nearby and some great coffee spots just a few steps away
A lifesaver during the off-season! This is my favorite hotel chain; I absolutely love the decor. The service is also excellent. It's a top-notch Japanese hotel chain that I highly recommend.
The front desk service was excellent, especially Wang! I had a double booking issue, and he handled it perfectly for me. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto!
There’s a hot spring inside the hotel , vry comfortable also near to metro and is a quiet neighborhood at night but also nearby everywhere u wanna access in Kyoto love it !
The facilities are a bit old, and there's a large public bath on the first floor separated by gender, but it's not a hot spring. The hotel also offers Kabuki performances

Their warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtful gestures made us feel incredibly welcomed. A very special shout-out to Cecilia, who noticed my daughter’s love for Winnie the Pooh after our visit to Disneyland Resort
She prepared a beautiful card, a sweet message, and even a handmade Pooh origami and placed it in our room. It absolutely made our daughter’s day — such a thoughtful touch we will never forget
We also want to commend Yuki from the restaurant team for his warm and wonderful breakfast service each morning. His kindness and attention to detail set the perfect tone to start our day
And of course, we loved the festive Christmas atmosphere, especially the beautiful Christmas tree and the amazing gingerbread house with the incredible aroma that filled the lobby
A huge thank you to Cecilia and Vinnie from the Guest Experience team, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable
From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless and heartfelt — the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a trip feel truly special
Kyoto, 558 Higashishiokoji-cho Shimogyo-ku (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Twin-beds rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The hotel is so close to Kyoto station(within walking distance). They also offer a variety of breakfast.
Facilities: Excellent
Hygiene: Very clean
Environment: Convenient for getting around
Service: Thoughtful and attentive
This hotel’s location is prefect. It’s just right opposite to the JR Kyoto station. The side of room is considered specious than other Japanese hotels. This hotel also offers free ramen from 21:30-23:00
Rooms is very clean and spacious than what I expect. Very special sauna and onsen experience too. The ramen provided every night is also best !
The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station, making transportation incredibly convenient, and the breakfast spread was also excellent. While the room wasn't large, it was well-laid out and fully equipped
Clean convenient simple efficient. Great choice for solo traveller. Hot spring public bath inside hotel is great for rejuvenating time
Kyoto, 620 Teianmaeno-cho (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Everything in Japan gets more expensive around New Year's, and this hotel was no exception. It has a really cool, stylish design, which I loved! However, it's right next to a cemetery
Turning left also quickly gets you to Takashimaya and a FamilyMart convenience store. The breakfast was generally decent. You can order one main dish from the menu, and they have freshly made onigiri
The hotel's location is fantastic! It's just a 5-minute walk from the subway station and right in a lively residential area
The breakfast selection is extensive, offering both Western and Chinese options that are fresh, delicious, and satisfying. The room was clean and tidy, and the service was warm and attentive
Overall, it was a comfortable and stress-free experience with great value for money. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel. I would definitely choose to stay here again
However, the toilet in our room wasn't cleaned thoroughly, and the duvet itself had some stains, though they're usually not noticeable when covered by the sheet

Very good service by staff, will try to answer any questions you have, however there is a language barrier which can be solved by google translate. The rooms are small but still usable for the price.
Great hotel, rooms are small but have everything you need and love the way the bathroom is separated by a small hallway. Great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
The rooms are a bit small but once you get organised you can move around easily, and there is everything you will need in a hotel room. I highly recommend this hotel!
I had an amazing stay at S Peria Hotel. The rooms were clean, modern, and very comfortable, giving me everything I needed for a relaxing stay
This is a good hotel for travel. The Breakfast in the hotel is so good, there is a lot of Japanese food.
Also, I loved the idea of having access to the "onsen" (thermal waters) right at the hotel

Room is small. Average breakfast. Available spa and sauna to guests. Washer drying available at x5 100¥ coins. Overall comfortable stay
The hotel do however have all the toiletries available next to reception counter. Also coffee in the mornings from 6. A sauna and a hot pool, but you have to be in your *************
Clean and has their own bath house at the top floor that opens till 1am. Next door is 711 and also a large supermarket with in few minutes walk that opens til 12am. Location wise is just a bit far from the metro
Venue: Walking distance to huge local supermarket, pharmacy and a nearby neighbourhood mall, BIV. Near the world heritage Nijio Castle. Feels safe in coming back late as the hotel is just next to the main road
Free public bath spa in the hotel. Plus: PJs and extra toiletries like makeup remover, cotton pads provided. Lunch: Good lunch buffet with homemade tofu. Laundry: Coin machine at 400 yen a cycle
Our room was cozy, spotless, and had great sound insulation, which made it easy to relax after long, eventful days exploring Kyoto. We would gladly stay here again!
Kyoto, 1-chome-45 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
I chose the plan that included a breakfast buffet, and was very satisfied with the wide selection and delicious side dishes. The rooms and large public bath also had card key access, so security was tight
The hotel is very close to the Kamo River, and it's conveniently located on a main road, making it easy to get to the bustling commercial area. The facilities are relatively new and pleasant to look at
The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to help with a warm smile. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to transportation and nearby attractions
It was a double room for one person, but it was large and clean, and the bathroom was not a separate bath, but a bathtub with a washbasin and a separate toilet for Japanese people
However, the dinner for the hotel's 'one night, two meals' plan was too small; we had to order extra dishes to feel full! Overall, we were quite satisfied!
The hotel's location is excellent, just a hundred meters from five subway exits. It's super convenient to get to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka, and Kamo River is right outside the door for a stroll
Kyoto, 22-7 Nishinokyo Shokujicho, Nakagyo-ku (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The location is super convenient, close to both JR and subway Nijo stations. If you're heading to Amanohashidate, you can easily take the JR from Nijo round trip, and it's a direct 10-minute ride to Kyoto Station
The hotel facilities are also quite sufficient, with a large public bath and a gym located on the 1st floor. There are two large supermarkets nearby, along with various convenience stores and chain restaurants
This was my third stay here, and I'm already quite familiar with the place, feeling completely at home. Every day, I'd head out for some coffee or matcha, then come back for another drink
KOMEDA is right across the street, and there are tons of restaurants in the Sannjo-kai area, plus many cafes. The room size was sufficient, clean, and well-equipped
Stayed for three nights during the autumn leaves season. Although the price was several times higher due to the holidays, overall it was pretty good
In the evenings, the lobby was quiet enough for me to work on emails. The location is super convenient with plenty of supermarkets nearby
It was so relaxing, and the lake view was just magnificent. Since I'll be in Kyoto for the next few days, I'm definitely coming back for another night to enjoy the onsen and the stunning view of Lake Biwa again
I booked the VIP room and it was huge! It really felt like a traditional ryokan, which was superb! Having the onsen right in the room was also fantastic, honestly. I absolutely loved my stay here
The hotel has a classic Japanese ryokan atmosphere, and the area near Lake Biwa is very peaceful. Staff were polite and helpful, and the shuttle service was convenient. Breakfast was simple but acceptable
We stayed one night at Biwako Grand Hotel Kyoomi and had a generally relaxing experience. The traditional tatami room was comfortable and suitable for staying with a young child
One suggestion is that it would be appreciated if room arrangements could better match the photos shown on the booking page, as this would help set clearer expectations
Overall, a calm stay for travelers seeking a traditional experience
