They have a stunning inside garden, nice atmosphere and super friendly staff. Breakfast is not that much but incredibly tasty. Location is perfect to stroll around the area towards the center. Definitely would go back.
Beds and showers area good, WiFi is OK, staff is friendly and helpful, you can borrow bikes (first two hours are free!), breakfast is amazing, kitchen is OK, nice TV area, has free towels
Based on cost benefit or the value for money, this is a 5 star place. You pay pennies and get everything. I took a private room with bath. It was perfect. Post checkout I could spend hours in their comfortable common area. Concierge and check-in is great. The hot breakfast is fantastic. Room was clean. Only things need to be improved are availability of coffee early morning and cleanliness of WC. Bit away from zocalo, but we can always walk as it's safe.
This place has everything a hostel needs to be inviting and comfortable. It has few different zones being a garden, TV couch area, and a quiet bar which are aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are clean and vibrant, comfortable beds and pillows are good. Azul Cielo appears to draw a kind of alternative crowd without the weirdness so its a nice change to drunk party hostels. The only thing I did notice was the payment request to leave a couple bags while I visited the beach for a few days. This is typically free to guarantee repeat stays however in this case I chose to take them with me and ended up staying closer to bus terminal upon my return to Oaxaca City.
Spent New Year's 2016 there. Have met several friends there. The owners are a couple of sweethearts and the hostel itself is just superb! They also have Friday's and Saturday's terrace nights which always turn out to be awesome nights! Dare to say, best hostel in town! :)
