Go elsewhere. It was the only place in Khiva listed on Hostelworld. The male manager quoted 140,000uz for a dorm, or 220,000uz for a private, I clarified he was quoting UZS currency and he said yes.
I paid with 200,000 cash for the dorm he told me he'd give me my change later. The hot water didn't work so I requested a refund. He refused and laughed at me, and told me to wait 30min for the hot water system. Claiming the registration had gone through so he couldn't refund. I did shower after a long commute.
Then he claimed he was only going to give me chamge $25,000 back not the 60,000 he owed. And that he'd quoted $14usd and would never lie cause he is Muslim.
I went to the tourist police (my first ever experience dealing with police while travelling). They were professional and understanding. They recommended another accommodation and helped negotiate Alibek to give me $150,000 back. I gave Alibek 50,000 to use the shower).

The floor boards creaked loudly. Go elsewhere. I'm surprised hostelworld still has this listed on this app and no other Khiva locals have jumped on opening a business of a competitive hostel.
