Desnogorsk
Description
Desnogorsk is a town in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the right bank of the Desna River 153 km southeast of Smolensk. Population: 29,677 (2010).
History
It was founded as a settlement around the Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant in 1974. It was granted town status in 1989.
