Stunning hotel with fantastic spa, delicious food and excellent service. The spa is a genuine oasis of calm with plenty of space, great pool and some lovely saunas and steam rooms. Breakfast justifiably pricey - probably one of the best there is. Room spacious, stylish and comfortable. They upgraded us for our anniversary.

The hotel looks pretty nice itself but the service is absolutely awful!
Here are the few issues we had during our stay:
1. The waiter forgot to bring our order.
2. The handle in the room is broken and the remote control in the toilet doesn’t work.
3. Room service staff forgot to deliver meal for our baby in time.
4. Hotel staff isn’t calling back.
5. There is no baby menu.
6. Inroom iPad isn’t working so that you can't adjust indoor temperature.
6. Houskeeping didn’t come while we asked for it.
7. There was no hot water one morning. They promised to send an engineer but he didn’t come.

Rude front Desk!
30 mins ago today we happened to pass by Botanic Sanctuary Hotel because we had a table reservation for lunch at the Bar Bulot next door. Unfortunately we arrived 10 mins earlier than the opening time at 12:00. We then decided to see the Botanic Sanctuary out of curiosity since it was raining outside. Immediately the guy at the entrance door gave us a condescending tone asking us what is our business in the hotel and said that it was an “exclusive luxurious hotel” I said that I am an architect and that I would like to have a look around the lobby. The guy said that as long as “we don’t bother the guest” or whatever that means. I did not understand because other guests are the least of my concern. Maybe because I was discriminated because he did not stop other people from coming in the way he did to us.
I have never heard such a thing my whole life in any hotel. I have travelled to other countries and bee to countless hotels, even 5 star ones and never encountered such a line. Absolutely spoiled my day.
Please train your staff next time to be courteous to guest and non guests alike.

A few notes, but still a fantastic place
We picked this place as we expected it to be a great mix of centuries old style mixed with modern comfort. And it fulfilled our expectations. It really is a beautiful paradise.
Standard rooms are not that big, so we opted for a junior suite. If you go for it, do it properly. This comes at a price but it must have cost a fortune to renovate these 800 year old buildings to the current level of modern comfort. Also they have a large staff, professional and friendly. So I think the price tag matches the quality.
A few notes:
- Our first room faced the chapel which is used as an event space by the hotel, in this case a loud disco party. It was initially supposed to end at 00:30 but went on to 02:00. Even with earplugs in, I could still hear the beat. The hotel apologised and compensated by upgrading us to a quiet and beautiful suite for the second night. Well solved, but in my opinion a hotel of this class should not have any noise after midnight.
- As mentioned by others, temperature control is an issue. There are two tiny buttons without display that are supposed to do something but those did not seem to have any effect. Or you can call the front desk. This did not cause me any discomfort. The temperature in the first room was fine. The second room was a bit chilly but it had a gas fire which was a very cosy way to solve that. But as the rooms are practically new, it appears strange that there is no proper way to regulate the room's temperature.
As everything else was absolute top class, I will still rate is with five stars.

A real and true gem in the center of Antwerp, close to all you need and yet in an oasis of botanic calmness.
It's five stars superior and you will feel this the moment you arrive. From the bellboys taking your bags to the guest relations staff guiding you to your room, the service is exquisite. Not to mention the wonderful rooms with their beautiful color palette and interior design. Need some pampering? Head to the spa with the panoramic pool with views onto the botanical gardens and the medieval historic Antwerp buildings, a steam room, two sauna's and more. Luxury at it's finest.
Tip: don't skip the breakfast, it's top notch. Also visit the apothecary and get some of the luxury products for your home usage.
