Pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and neat and the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I have seen.
Very friendly service all around. Excellent breakfast and enjoyed a tasty room service meal from the downstairs restaurant, too. Our room was one of the more stylish ones with parquet floor. Great bedding and we slept well. Warm recommendation!
Warm thanks Vaakuna Mikkeli
Excellent experience; clean, stylish rooms, very friendly staff. The people at Respa are top notch! Always friendly, happy and you can feel a good vibe from what they do.
The food on the hotel restaurant menu was tasteless and impersonal. The waiter was nice, brisk and knowledgeable.
Perfect stop in downtown Mikkeli. Beautiful walks available at this location. Close to train stop.
Two years ago my experience in this hotel was a positive surprise, surpassing most of the other Sokos hotels. This time our experience was the basic average Sokos hotel, so unfortunately not as great as last time, but still nice. The room was clean and nice, wifi and air conditioning working well. Wasn't totally happy with the breakfast, as there was several different items missing (empty dishes)...

Huoneistohotelli Marja (Apartment Hotel Marja) is situated in the old wooden house which was built in 1882 as a barracks for snipers. Nowadays this old barracks building is renovated and protected. The hotel was opened in 2012. The same owner has Hostel Marja (also known as Hostelli Marjan Matkakoti) in the neighboring house. Home of kind customer service is the motto of this apartment hotel. A wonderful, different and personal accommodation in a good way! The customer service was top notch and the cats were also taken into account. Breakfast was sufficient, I would have liked more vegan options. It was nice to walk around nearby, for example the Urpola nature center was within walking distance.
Lovely historic area, but quite expensive place to stay
