What a wonderful experience!
This is a truly traditional ryokan, located in the beautiful historic Bikan district. The private, in-room dinner was excellent and served and explained by a very kind lady. The atmosphere in the ryokan is very pleasant, almost serene, and the interior is beautiful with lots of polished wood. The room was more spacious than expected.
We had forgotten to reserve parking...
You will experience great customer service with very polite and friendly staff who is interested in you and always seek to help you. It was a lovely stay at my very first ryokan.
Very centrally located, a typical Japanese inn with friendly service and good food.
Expensive, but worth it!
The rooms are traditional Japanese style, which objectively isn't very convenient. It's all about the experience. The location is excellent, right on the main street, but the food wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
The building itself was old, but the facilities were clean. I think the customer service was good. However, perhaps because dinner was not included, even though we arrived around 18:00, the futons for three people were already laid out, so we couldn't relax in the room.
This hotel has a Chinese name "Hotel Crane Shape", which is translated by Ctrip as "Ryorik Ontesjita Hotel". This is an inn converted from an old building over 300 years old. It is right next to the small river. There are only toilets in the room that cannot take a bath, so there are public baths for men and women. The breakfast is a general Japanese breakfast. Because the place is small, you have...

Pretty good, nice and quiet, and good services, nice onsen too. and massage chai
The hotel environment is nice, and the rooms are quite spacious. The service attitude is good. The location is also excellent, with complete surrounding facilities, making dining, shopping, and getting around very convenient. I would choose it again next time.
Room space is quite small, the location is great. Close to the station and Aeon shopping mall
It's super close to JR, just around the corner! Plus, it has a public bath! It was great to relax there after a long day of sightseeing. I even got lucky and found a free massage chair, which was a real treat. The breakfast offered a good variety of options, generally tasty, haha. We booked a twin room, and the space was quite decent.
This was my second stay at the Okayama Garden Hotel, and I chose it again for its convenient location. It's within walking distance of Okayama Station, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. I also appreciate the long tea time and the excellent breakfast selection.
Very convenient, right next to Okayama Station. It's a standard Japanese hotel setup.

The room on the 17th floor has great natural light, and the view outside the window is beautiful and expansive. The room is very clean and tidy, and there's a free coffee machine available.
Very nice hotel and nice good location , I always select this hotel when I at japa
I was down graded. Because the room I booked is oversold.
Great location right next to the station, convenient to get around. Had a room with a fantastic view too.
The room is good view and they provide eyes hot pad for when you sleep to using. Even I stayed one night, they gave me a bottle of water. Pls mark it: they don't have water at room, but you can use ice~
This is a wonderful property located just in front of Okayama station, which makes it a very convenient hotel to stay at. The room and amenities are very good as well!

Conveniently link to Okayama Station, just a short walk that pass through level 2 area and link bridge to the hotel. The room is quite spacious with separate vanity and toilet area. The bed is comfortable and we rested quite well.
Excellent hotel with direct access to Okayama station. The service, cleanses, location…. everything is top class!
We enjoyed the service and comfort of the hotel. Buffet breakfast was great too. Parking is available at the basement. It’s just next to JR station and many shopping malls.
Kudos to the service crew! Special thanks to Ms Kumomoto of the front desk for making extra efforts to direct us to a nearby clinic, went with us to the supermarket to get the masks and arranging the taxi to bring us there.
Absolutely delighted with my stay at this hotel!
First off, I received a complimentary upgrade to a spacious 32 sqm room.
What's more, the included travel pass offered a choice of three different perks, which proved to be incredibly handy.
The hotel's location is also extremely convenient, with direct access to the JR station directly from the second floor.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Traveling with our 8-year-old daughter, we were provided with a triple room. Its location is exceptionally convenient, with a dedicated walkway connecting directly to Okayama Station. The room itself was very spacious. We would have loved to try the breakfast, but as we had an early train to Takamatsu the next morning, we couldn't book it. From the smooth check...

The room was spacious, clean, and had plenty of amenities. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.
The open-air observation bath has a great view, but there is no large bath and few washing areas, so it can be tough in the winter.
Although the furniture was a bit old, the room was exceptionally clean, including the bathroom facilities, and the linens were spotless, making for a very comfortable stay.
The amenities were impressive, including a razor, hairbrush, toothbrush, and shower cap, plus a POLA skincare set (toner, emulsion, facial pack, cleansing oil, and facial wash). The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were also...
The highlight is the hotel's onsen (hot spring). The view is stunning, but the men's and women's onsens alternate days, offering two different views. The hot water is good, and the sauna is excellent, but the fitness center is small and not suitable for serious workouts. The beds and rooms are a bit old but clean. The view from the room is especially amazing at sunset.
The hotel is located in the mountains. The lobby is nicely decorated. However, the rooms are rather old, though clean.
There is only the Japanese restaurant opened during my stay. Not a good location to get around unless with a car. The staffs cannot speak English but they try their best to understand what we need. The city view from the room is excellent.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, with the concierge booking us a nearby restaurant for dinner. The complimentary alcoholic drinks and canapés was much appreciated and the breakfast was superb. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel. The beautiful Ritsurin Gardens are 25 minutes walk from the hotel.
Room is clean and tidy. Their staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the city centre and close to many restaurants and shops.
This is the worst hotel we’ve stayed in Japan. Our room was so tiny and needed renovation not justified the high price we’ve paid. Breakfast was poor with limited selection. Definitely would not go back to this hotel again.
It's a bit on the expensive side, but absolutely worth every penny. I was completely satisfied with everything, from the room's condition to its excellent location.
The hotel is a bit dated, but it's very well-maintained. I particularly liked the sit-down vanity table; it made getting ready much more comfortable. While there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, a Japanese lady was diligently learning Chinese, which I found very commendable.
Very happy of the time, could rent bicycle for 300 yen!
Location super convenient

Staffs are super friendly and nice facilities. Lived their sister hotel too, also very good and food even taste better.
Not great, far from it. The rooms are terrible, old-fashioned, and the photos on the website don't match reality. Very disappointed, I won't be going back.
This is a place that can only be reached by car, but it is very serene and unique here
The villages outside have beautiful views
The room is quite cosy
Every night we were told that our kiseki dinner "has been upgraded" due to us changing to a smaller sea view room than the only mountain view room was available through trip.com. But every night at dinner, every guest were being served the same dishes. Makes us wonder what "upgraded" really means.
We stayed for 3 nights, breakfast variety gets boring after the second morning. This being a resort...
Rooms have good seaview. The open-air hot spring at the rooftop is superb. It is an ideal spot to unwind for a few days, with comfortable rooms and attentive service that make it easy to recharge.
Although this hotel has been open for many years, its facilities are still relatively new and complete, and the rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy.
The hotel warmly provides guests with snacks. We opted for breakfast and dinner, and the meals were surprisingly generous and varied.

Services are very good even though the location is quite remote. It worth to spend sometime there for relaxation.
The hotel offers a scheduled shuttle bus from Fukuyama Station, which is very convenient. Although I stayed at the Annex, the room was large and new, and it even had a terrace with a sea view. There was no shower in the room; you had to go to the public bath, which was well-equipped and very comfortable. The welcome drink was hot soup and dried fish, which was quite unique. The two meals included with...
It wasn't a large facility, but it was a very nice inn with a view of the ocean right in front of you. The food was delicious and served in a private room, so I was able to relax. The hot spring water was very warming, so I stayed warm for a while. The view from the open-air bath was amazing. The location is also good for exploring the town, so I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity...
The hotel boasts a beautiful sea view, but the noise from the air conditioning and motorcycles at night makes for poor sleep quality, and the food has significant room for improvement.
Very good. It's not new, but it's neat and clean. The hot spring is very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast are simple but plentiful. I would definitely come again if I have the chance.
Our family of four was looking for a special experience off the beaten path. This hotel was lovely. We reserved a private onsen so we could try that. We also enjoyed our multicourse dinner and authentic Japanese breakfast, package which we never would have known to order. The staff was lovely and the concierge spoke excellent English, which was very helpful for us. Tomonoura is a cute little town...

Extremely refined, excellent experience. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the resort ensures to provide the utmost hospitality and kindness.
The Ryokans and dinner service were both stellar. I would love to have the opportunity to stay here again.
Excellent hotel! Everything was perfect. We booked the suite room and received special sashimi for our dinner in the room. The staff is very nice and professional:) the balcony is very large in the suite room and you can really enjoy this small seaside Japanese town.
Gorgeous property!! Amazing kind souls.
Sadly one downside; the mark up on a $10 wine a Chablis from California a 350 ml half bottle is more than ten fold… to over $100. Thought it was a typo!! Don’t order wine in Resturant in evening is the sad message.
Amazing kind souls!! Would return… no question. Request your meal preferences well in advance, quiet, huge contrast to large cities.
Enjoy!!!
It is fantastic place with nice view. If coming by car, you'd need to park in different hotel, but they will pick you up and take to this location. The food is also amazing.
Room: One of the best ryokan experience I had in Japan. Room has private bath with balcony over looking the ocean. Beds and room were comfortable and relaxing. The room had plenty of toiletries, a nice coffee set, complimentary drinks, chocolate, pajamas and let you wear yutaka to wear around hotel. Wish they a small dresser to put my clothes in from suitcase.
Service: Excellent top of the line Japanese...
While looking for a place to break up our Western Japan road trip and unwind for 2 nights in a small, luxury property, we settled on Migiwatei Ochi Kochi, a high-end ryokan in the port town of Tomonoura. Pouring through articles and reviews (mostly in Japanese), we felt that it would offer large, comfortable rooms with great views, easy access to (leisurely) sightseeing and great food. As we had hoped...
