Hotels in Nagahama

My family and I loved our stay here. Nagahama is a beautiful place and our stay is made even better by Grand Mercure Lake Biwa. Starting from Mr Sato at the front desk to the staff around the property and in the onsen, we experienced the famous omotenashi of Japan. Thank you all and we hope to back again some day.

A great quasi-resort on shore of Lake Biwa. Perfect for groups. Especially bike friendly. Large parking. Buffet style eating. Mercure has done a nice job to refit and mondernize the building up to new specs. Still some Showa remnants in rooms such as quaint unit bath—- but it just makes us old timers smile.

The location was perfect, it was at the edge of Biwa Lake, but for the room itself was kinda old for the price that e pay, but it can be forgiven because of the location and the view. Stayed here for 4 nights, and it was busy every day as the hotel seemed to be used to host tour groups which means it takes quite a while to get up and down due to the congestion at the lifts during the peak hours and the hot springs can be a little crowded too. I had a corner room which is spacious and have panoramic views of the lake and Nagahama Castle. The hot spring has an big indoor bath area...

Great location. Just facing the biwa lake. Has a pool. Free hard and soft drinks for all guests between 3 to 6 and 9 to 12pm. In house onsen. Pool hours are between 930 to 630pm, can be increased to enjoy night pool activities.

Nice and relaxing environment. Very close to lake side. The buffer worth for the value although the room is a little bit old style.

Very business-type hotel. It is next to the highway. It is very convenient to drive. Parking is free. Breakfast is also free. There is a large supermarket next to it. There is a convenience store downstairs. There are mountain and lake views outside the window. I also watched the sunset in the room. It is very cost-effective.

Good transit hotel. Comfortable and very quiet room.

The room is small and clean. The hotel breakfast is very rich. There is also a hot spring bath. It provides laundry and drying services, and basically has all the necessary facilities.

Typical Toyoko Inn so there's underbed storage, inadequate curtains to keep out the light, and good climate control. The problem was I had a top floor room but there must not have been people below me for floors or something because the floor was so cold it felt refrigerated. I cranked the heater but since it's at the ceiling it heats the room top down so the floor stayed really cold, like refrigerated...

Very friendly staff, a decent breakfast, and well located. Highly recommend this stay for a visit to Biwa lake!

I can't comment on the rooms as we were not able to stay at the hotel as we had mistakenly booked a room at the wrong branch of Toyoko Inn and there were no rooms left. However, the lady at reception was very sympathetic and helpful. She cancelled the reservation we had made by mistake and booked a room for us at the nearby Hikone branch of Toyoko Inn. We were, of course, very grateful for this and...

Great location! It takes me only 3-4 minutes walk to Maibara station. And there is a sūpā just few minutes walk from the hotel too. The breakfast provided every morning is always onigiri with a few different kind of fillings, some simple salad, and the standard drinks. If your hotel room is facing the front, you get to see Shinkansen zooming pass from your window.

The only room available was a smoking room, but I wish they had provided an air purifier. In this day and age, smoking rooms are no longer necessary. Breakfast was limited to rice balls and salad, so I felt the service had declined.

The room was OK and clean, just like Toyoko. The hotel is close to the station and relatively quiet at night. There are many kinds of rice balls for breakfast. There is a good supermarket near the hotel with many things and they are cheap.

A bit of a weird walk from the staion if you have bags to drag but otherwise perfect hotel! Nice breakfast as well, good curry rice.

By the lake, the environment is beautiful and comfortable. There is a public bathroom on the 7th floor, where you can bathe facing the sunrise, which is great. The hotel has complete and high-end facilities, good hygiene, and very warm service. It is worth staying.

Biwako Although it was in front and there was nothing around, it was a little inconvenient, but I think it would be okay for those who don't care!! The staff were friendly and clean when I first walked in!! The room was single, but it wasn't uncomfortable for two people to stay in. The view of Biwako from the window was also nice!! There was a large bath on the 7th floor, but I was a little disappointed...

This is a traditional old-style hotel. The basic service attitude is good, but the facilities are a bit old. Iron keys are used, so you have to lower the keys when going out. Its advantages are that it is close to the sea, has a view, and is a wedding-only hotel. It feels warm and romantic. Dinner The pizza we had in the hotel was really delicious, a plus for this one.

I like looking at waterfronts, so I was happy to be able to see Lake Biwa from my hotel room. And having breakfast while looking at Lake Biwa was a great memory. The facilities were clean and the lovely decorations were impressive. Next time I'd like to come and stay with a friend!

we loved our japanese style room, very spacious and great view, and we enjoyed the massage chair very much. both dinners served in the room and in the restaurant were memorable. Miss Singh was very friendly and attentive. And thanks to the manager who made other dinner reservation for us.

We came here for two nights and had a very memorable stay. We were picked up at the rail station. The arrival at the hotel was also very friendly and welcoming. I stayed at the Ryonkan during my bike tour around Lake Biwa and booked the small single room. It was really small, but perfectly fine for the price. Unfortunately, I couldn't add dinner on, and there wasn't a single restaurant open anywhere nearby. The staff offered to drive me to the supermarket, but I didn't want to cause any trouble. Very nice view of the lake. Very helpful staff. The rooms have a private onsen hot tub on the balcony. The rooms have tatami and are set up to sleep on the floor. You can request a bed frame to elevate the futon, but it's better to request a bed when making the reservation (although you may enjoy sleeping on a futon, Japanese style).

Excellent views, terrace and private outdoor spa. The room is large, with a massage chair and telescope, so you can watch the waterfowl outside. The food is delicious and the service staff can speak English.

There are a few smoking rooms available for smokers. I found myself rushing to buy some cigarettes at the convenience store diagonally across the street (lol). However, non-smokers might find the smell of the rooms unbearable! The rooms are typical of an old-fashioned business hotel, and are priced accordingly.

Roos are tiny..ok for 2 person. Enjoyed a lot..location is quite and good.

I stayed here when I went sightseeing in Nagahama. It's about a 2-3 minute walk from JR Nagahama Station, and there is a free flat parking lot, so it's convenient to go by train or car (I went by car). I don't think it's that new, but the building as a whole was well-cleaned, and there was no shortage of facilities and equipment in the room. A stone throw away from Nagahama castle ruins/park great for Sakura

The rooms were a bit dated and could use a deep scrub but they were fine. If you arrive with a bicycle, remember to encase it in a rinko bag.

It’s not a brand new hotel but the price is cheap and is with a public bath, the room is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staffs are helpful despite they only speak Japanese. It’s just a few minutes of walk away from the Nagahama Station. There’re also plenty of restaurants, convenient stores, and a supermarket around the hotel.

Good hotel but the area is inconvenient. Probably good enough for the price. Good hotel.

Seeing that we had a child, we were upgraded to a non-smoking room for free, with a wide view of the lake, and the bedroom and bathroom were much larger. The hotel has complete facilities and warm service. It is only 5 minutes away from Nagahama Pier, Keiunkan and JR station, which is very convenient. Changbin is quiet and beautiful, where you can go shopping and eat leisurely.

My wife and I visited Hamakogetsu during our honeymoon. The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was perfect, and the onsen was refreshing. We look forward to returning soon.

We chose this hotel to have a complete Japanese experience. That worked. We had a traditional Japanese room with tatami. In the afternoon tea was served in the room, and during dinner the room was furnished with 'futons' to sleep on. Furthermore, the room was equipped with all Western amenities. A private 'ofuro' outside on the balcony was wonderful to recover from the efforts of the day. Delicious...

I cannot recommend this ryokan highly enough. From being picked up from Nagahama train station, to being shuttled back to the station the next day (at the insistence of the manager), the experience was above and beyond any expectations I had about our stay here. As a family of four travelling, we were very comfortable with our stay here, albeit for one night, which was a welcome relief from the hustle...

Great dining experience with excellent English and Japanese service. Onsen is very large and room too. Can refurbish a bit for room bathing and private onsen area.

Very good hotel. Love the room and the hot spring area. Staff are very friendly. Just a comment on the food arrangement: suggest the hotel to contact the guest prior to the check-in on the dinner or breakfast arrangement and offer the choices.

Nice nature and the アスレサーキット course is fun and well worth the money for both kids and adults who like climbing and balancing.

I choiced here for my high school's field trip. Here is the best place for barbecue & camping & recreation! Nature was very beautiful!

If you want to have an outdoor activity, camping, relax or maybe have a picnic surrounded by nature, this is the right place for you. There is a thermal bath house, which you can pay and spend some time there, also are some playgrounds, gymnasium and others sports activities, large parking place, wood houses for renting, beautifull lake and public restrooms.

I missed the last train at work so my company made a reservation for me, and although the facility is probably old, it was very well-cleaned and I was able to spend a pleasant time there. There was a very nice male staff member. I called to ask about an available parking space, and he came outside to help me. He even pressed the elevator button and waited for me, making me think it was a luxury hotel! I don't often find myself wanting to stay at other hotels, but this one definitely is! Hotels like this should continue to grow.

The bath, toilet, and sink are separate and the room is spacious, so it's very comfortable. Perhaps because I checked in late at night, the Wi-Fi was at its limit for simultaneous connections and I couldn't connect at all. However, I was able to connect in the morning, perhaps because someone had checked out. I hope they can improve this aspect.

Great accomodation in a peaceful village. Very comfortable stay, you have all you need in there, the location is perfect and Hide-san and the rest of the staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. It was such a great time to stay there in Nagahama.

The host makes amazing coffee. A very friendly person. I had a great stay. The location is perfect for cyclists who are cycling around Lake Biwa from Otsu.
