Bungalows Katun Maja Karanfil

Such a wonderful place we stayed here only to camps in the valley buy cheese from Stan the farmer who owned the cows that graze the pastures, the walks and mountains are fabulous, slippy when wet. The views are amazing. Montenegro beautiful place!

Such a wonderful experience. From the moment we called to book untill we left. The location in the valley is perfect, right at the start of the hiking routes, with wonderful views if the mountains. The staff was super nice. Friednly, warm, welcoming, helpful to accomodate all our needs. I highly recommend this place.

You know that Montenegro has not only the sea, there are also great mountains

Such a beautiful place with an amazing view. We came in here for 3 day hike. The rooms are small but they have all that you need, bed, bathroom, fridge, coffee maker and a little terace outside. It was really worth visiting. Next to them is a well where you can fill your water bottles.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst exploring the hiking trails around the Accursed Mountains. We couldn’t believe what good value these bungalows were - comfortable, with access to everything you need (including a perfectly good shower/wet room). The bungalows are cosy and located close to all the trail heads - they have a restaurant on site but there is also another restaurant linked to the neighbouring accommodation. Good to stock up as there aren’t any mountain huttes like you might find in other ranges. Easy to find using maps but be warned that there is no cell service (current as of June 2022) and the on site WiFi was patchy at best. You get 4G in the valley above the bungalows but best to come prepared with maps bought beforehand (they don’t have any available on site to take away)

What an amazing spot. So lovely, peaceful and secluded. Beautiful backdrop of the Grebaje Valley. Apparently we were the first guests of the season. This had some upsides: We had the Valley to ourselves in the evening which was wonderful and Idyllic. But the dowsides: The restaurant was not yet open, so we had to drive back to Gusinje to find some food. The host did come and do breakfast for us in the morning, though, and we were able to have a good long chat with her. The cabin itself was small and sparten, but that isn't unusual for this area in our limited experience. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great for us, it was a bit wet and much cooler in the evening, unfortunately we were unable to to get the log burner to light. Th, the firelighters provided would not catch light, they only went black and shrank, we tried to use some paper we had, but that wasn't enough without proper kindling to get it going. So we couldn't dry our shoes and we were quite cold. We used all thr blankets and slept in clothes! Just like the old days of camping :-) This place may be better in the summer, but there would also be more people too.

Nice bungalow near the restaurant, clean, wonderful location, friendly staff, good breakfast. We were there for two nights and both of them we heard a dormouse coming on our roof obviously eating something. It was just like in a fairy-tale.

This place is located in a beautiful Grebaja valley and it is run by a very nice, friendly and polite hosts. It is a perfect place to stay if wish to visit Prokletije mountain.
