Nature Safari Resort in Bhurkia

Great experience of local Nepali culture, wildlife (tiger, elephant, rhinoceros and more), comfortable accommodation and exquisite organic food at the Nature Safari Resort, Bardiya National Park. The meals, accommodation and Safari tours were great value. Our hosts and safari guides were very attentive, knowledgable and provided a wonderful example of the warmth of Nepali culture.
We had a very comfortable room and the resort provides a range of options for people including tents.
We stayed for 14 days. Highly recommended.

From the moment I arrived until the day I departed I was immersed in the Nepali culture both within the resort and out. My hosts filled me with wholesome, homegrown organic Nepali dishes 3 times a day. I was nourished by the stories of the family and the history of the country up to the current moment. My bungalow is generous in size. The garden landscape is well cared for and pretty. Pricing of my room, meals and excursions around the village and into the Bardia game park was very affordable. I have been here at the resort for 14 days and shall leave with many fond memories of the family and local community. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

I booked the 3N/4D package at the lodge and could not recommend it more! Everything was an easy to coordinate, and via Whatsapp the manager helped me reserve a bus ticket from Pokhara, as well as my returning bus to Kathmandu. The lodge itself is very nice and quiet, and a great value for the price, with incredible food included, hot showers, WiFi, a cultural/dance show on Friday night, and the comfiest bed I have slept in after over 2 months in Nepal. The owner Madhu has been in the business 35 years and was born in the village, and he was very kind and helpful throughout my stay, contributing to a very authentic experience. Included in my package were several tours, such as a full day walking safari in Bardiya NP (with my own private guide) which was a noteworthy adventure, and a jeep safari the following day with a small group from the lodge. I saw a tiger, rhinos, elephants, monkeys, deer, and lots of birds. The nearby village and area surrounding Bardiya NP is very special and peaceful, and though it may be remote, it is definitely worth the trip, and I only wish I could have stayed longer!

An extraordinary place, with a welcome like you won't find anywhere else! So much attention was paid to fulfilling our every wish! This stay was enchanting. During the Happy Diwali festival, the village children come every evening to sing and dance in the courtyard. The cuisine is exquisite, using only locally grown, untreated ingredients. You'll even be welcome in the kitchen! Madhu, the owner, who truly takes excellent care of his guests, organizes tours of the national park, including overnight stays in tents in the jungle. Rest assured, a guide will be on hand to watch over the campfire. Early the next morning, there were tiger tracks on the path, just 50 meters away! An unforgettable stay, I wholeheartedly recommend it! Enjoy!

This was the highlight of our Nepal adventures! Madhu and his family welcomed us like one of their own, and showed us the beauty of Bardiya National Park. Every meal was incredible, all hand made with locally sourced ingredients. Even when we camped overnight in the park, homemade meals were supplied. Each one wad more delicious than the last!

We spent 5 days with at Nature Safari Resort and loved every minute of it! The rooms are lovely, and you can truly see the pride they take in the beautiful landscaping and rooms. We were taken care of every step of the way, from Trekking to hiking to jeep safaris. Madhu's team really know their stuff! I feel like Bardiya is poised to explode on the tourist scene, and I'm lucky to have met Madhu and explored the park before it hits the big time! We highly recommend Nature Safari Resort, and we can't wait to visit again!

Great place run by good and friendly people with good food, decent rooms along with hot shower for winter, AC and basic amenities.
And surprisingly affordable, got a bill of almost half what we expected.
They also facilitate safari tours so no need to look for that elsewhere.
Will visit again for sure.

This is a wonderful place to stay and for Safari tours in the Bardiya Natinalpark. The family, Madhu, Anita and Shirsana, is lovely and super helpful. Even if you come or leave in the middle of the night they are ready for you. I stayed there for 5 days and felt part of the family. I would have loved to stay longer. We did 3 days of safari with 1 night in a jungle camp. Everything was very wel organiced!

my girlfriend and I had a really nice time at Madhu’s homestay. we came to experience the real wildlife and see some animals in their natural habitat. Therefore Bardia national park was the best choice! Madhu’s Resort is really a quiet, calm and green place to recover after our long mountain trek. The rooms are very clean, the bed is very comfortable and we had the opportunity to take a nice hot shower. we also did some yoga in his garden and just watched the sun goes down. the food was outstanding, with ingredients that grows in his garden. Madhu’s wife Anita is a very excellent cook. she always switched the dishes and asked us every day if we have special wishes. we did also some jungle walks and jeep safaris. Madhu and the Guide Ram are very experienced to find animals. Ram have perfect senses to detect noises and animal movements we never would recognize. he knows also very much about the animals and their behavior. overall we can 100% recommend this experience with Madhu, his nice family and Ram. We also want to come back in the future!

I spent three nights in this resort and I enjoyed the genuine hospitality of the local family. Very spacious room with huge bathroom... Delicious cuisine with local dishes using products from the fields in the area. And then the excursions to the natural park were decidedly interesting with the observation of animals in their habitat... including the tiger. The trek on foot is highly recommended!!
