We stayed 3 nights at Tiger Tops and can highly recommend the place! The rooms were truly beautiful and the food one of the best I had during my stay in Nepal. In addition, our special diaries were taken well into account and did not cause any limitations from the kitchen's side. The only thing why I did not give 5 starts, was because while there where mosquito nets in the room's windows, the door lacked one. This caused the mosquitos to enter the room in the evening. Every night we had to remove a large spider from the room (we think it had a nest in there somewhere). Of course the insects are part of the life in the jungle, but since the hotel was quite expensive compared to the others on the area, this could have been avoided by placing a net on the room's door. Another feedback would be the set dinner time in the evenings. The dinner was only at 20:00 and combined this with the early activities starting at 6:30, it would have been nide to have the dinner a bit earlier (for example 19:00). Despite these, I would highly recommend Tiger Tops to anyone and will be definitely returning there next time in Nepal!

My partner and I could not have asked for more from our stay at Tiger Tops First, the hotel: The staff was amazing/attentive/made sure anything we needed was taken care of right away. (Including accommodating dietary restrictions.) We were lucky enough that the owner, whose father founded the lodge in 1964, was also around several nights with great stories/history of the lodge, the surrounding area and the park. The elephants at the lodge: All seem happy/well treated, enough space etc. This is one of the few lodges in the area that does not allow elephant rides/provides this standard of care and it shows. The Safari's: Our guide Sam was one of the best we've had anywhere. It's clear he really loves his job and the animals, and went out of his way to ensure we had an amazing time. We learned a ton about animal behavior and tracking/finding animals in the jungle as well. It comes down somewhat to luck, but we also managed to see everything we hoped to, and more!

We had the most wonderful time, Tiger Tops will remain in my heart as one of the highlights of my trip to Nepal. The lodge is beautiful, sleeping in the tents was so fun and exciting but still comfortable and elegant. The staff are incredible - they are so welcoming, friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel happy and relaxed. I really enjoyed the elegant yet relaxed style of the lodge. The activities are amazing. Being able to spend time with elephants up close was magical, and going out into the jungle with the jeep safari was the most exciting and fun way to discover more about nature. Our guide Sam was amazing, he was so knowledgeable and professional, fun and kind. Our drivers Mangal and Min were great, and drove safely and helped us enjoy the experience. We would highly recommend Tiger Tops to anyone, and already are looking forward to returning to this magical place one day.

Excellent staff and food, well planned activities and a very low key setting. The facilities are very local in nature,on purpose, and this is not a five star hotel in terms of amenities, but is five star for atmosphere and experience. Be prepared to gear down and relax. The highlights are the eight elephants kept at the camp plus the fleet of 1950’s era Land Rovers for cruising through the jungle. We saw many rhinos, tiger tracks but no tiger, plus monkeys, peacocks and spotted deer.

This is a very special place. The rooms are good but basic. The food excellent ,could not fault any meal. The walk with the elephants for a sundowner was lovely saw rhinos We did a safari drive that was disappointing. Basically saw nothing special. Walking in the village was great. Fascinating I how they live. Unfortunately our guide who was with us for the full two full days was USLESS. A great pitty I would certainly recommend the Lodge

I went there after a mountaineer trip in the Himalayas, and it was just the perfect place to unwind and be taken care of ! The staff is amazing, very friendly and professional. The place is quiet, very clean, well maintained. And the food, made from local ingredients, is top level too ! Thank you so much for making me feel like a special guest :-)

The staff are amazing. Whether that’s the guides, or the restaurant staff, everyone is lovely. It’s a much quieter area than staying in Sauraha, which is one of the reasons we picked it. We also picked it as it has a much better reputation for how it keeps its elephants compared to most lodges and was one of the the first to ban tourists riding them which I liked.
The safari experience was epic, saw tonnes of rhino, as well as gaur and birdlife. We also heard tigers. The lodge gardens are full of birds.
The lodge rooms are clean but quite basic. I do think they need a bit of an investment upgrade - eg painting a H in tippex on the hot tap isn’t really what you expect given the cost. There was also a bit of noise on the second night, but minimal compared to what we’d had in the rest of Nepal. The stay is inclusive of all meals, all drinks (except filtered water) are extra, the food was pretty decent.
Great place

The local staff were just awesome. We loved our guide Sam. The food was so good and endless. I was a bit disappointed in our quarters. The lighting was extremely dim making it hard to see anything. We were right next to the Lodge dining room. We were awakened every day at five by the crew setting up for breakfast on the other side of the wall. It would have been nice to have a safe in the room as there are no locks on the entry as you can see in the photos.

I had a great stay at Tiger Tops Tharu Lodge! The rooms were cool and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day out. The food was really good—fresh and tasty at every meal. The guides were super nice and knowledgeable, making the whole experience feel personal and informative. And the safari was a lot of fun—we got to see some amazing wildlife and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful and exciting escape in nature!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Tiger Tops. The good points: The staff were excellent - very friendly and efficient. Special mention for Connie, the guest host, who was great company and on top of everything we needed. Special mention also for Daniel our fantastic safari guide who has 56 years of experience in Chitwan National Park and our jeep driver, Min, who drove brilliantly for 10 hours. The 'Not so good'. We knew that it was a camp, not an up market hotel, but the room was extremely basic with a broken toilet seat, very poor lighting and not overly clean. Some of the window units were not fitted and the ceiling fan was very noisy.
