Had a meal here with my wife and the food was to say the least was totally amazing. If I could give this establishment six stars I would. Staff friendly prices were very competitive for the stunning quality of everything we had. I would strongly recommend everything and am unable to fault a thing.

We had a great stay at this hotel : service is excellent with really attentive people. The design of the room and the hotel is singular and beautiful. Everything looks cosy and welcoming. Tasteful breakfast with a large choice, nice drinks at the bar. The hotel is located in the city center witch is very practical for site seeing.

We stayed over the Eleanor hotel for one night in the Lou room. Very nicely decorated, top location very close to the center but without the noise, top equipment and comfort of the bed. We even had earplugs in our room! The breakfast had a lot of variety of dishes and drinks and was served at the tables. Great location in the center of Middelburg. Very kind staff, good bar, great breakfast. The only thing is that the toilet is in the room without a closeable door, something to keep in mind if you are staying with a friend or your new lover :-). And the shower turned cold/mid warm in the morning, which kinda sucked.

We stayed in Middleburg as the first overnight stop on a Europe trip, we hadn’t booked anything in advance and went to the Hotel Roosevelt - the girl on reception was absolutely lovely - showed us which rooms they had and we picked which we liked best. The hotel manager/ owner was also there and helped us and again absolutely lovely - they could not have been nicer. This is such a quaint boutique...

We enjoyed our stay at the Roosevelt hotel apartment. Received a very warm welcome at check in. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Beautiful location and very central. Interior design is very stylish. Bike friendly lovely guest house We were cycling and good storage facilities for bikes available. Lovely old guest house with stylish rooms and excellent breakfast.

Another reviewer commented that this was more like a boutique hotel than a B&B and we would agree. Comfortable, stylish, friendly service and plentiful continental breakfast served to your table - perfect for our whistle stop cycling tour of Zeeland. We were able to store our bikes in the cellar which was very handy.

Visiting Middelburg for a few days with my cousin we decided to book the Poorthuys which was a very good choice . The B&B is located near the old center of Middelburg and it was very easy to go different directions to explore this nice Province . The rooms and the beds were excellent , it is a very quiet area to have a great sleep and the breakfasts every morning were amazing , very well balanced...

We had a lovely stay in the hotel. The host welcomed us and also was very helpful in making our stay a pleasant one. The rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. Also the breakfast in the morning was a nice start of the day. Also it is nicely located in the city center in a beautiful area.

Good location and ambiance from the hotel

The staff were very kind to us. We had booked a double room, but moved to the family room at a small extra cost - for more comfort. The breakfast is excellent. We will stay here again.

Good hotel The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good and we had a nice view of the canal from our room. It wasn’t the biggest room (there was only space for one bedside table) but the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. There was good safe storage for our bikes.

The hotel is in a great location. The city center is just a stone's throw away. The room was incredibly small; it was more suitable for a single room; you could barely walk past each other. The hygiene wasn't great. There are dirty yellow stains on the duvet and curtain. The glassware at breakfast was dirty and worn out. There were no fruit juices because the machine was broken. No jugs of orange juice...

Location is perfect 3min walk from the train station and 5min from the centre. Breakfast and facilities in the room could be better but in general very satisfied in terms of cleanliness, quiet and located in a safe area. Heating in the room is fine but no AC in rooms which might be an issue in summer.

This was my first visit to the area.... I am so happy that I selected this hotel. I look forward to returning with my wife.

A good night's sleep I was in Middelburg for a funeral, so I only stayed one night. The room was perfect for my needs - no complaints!

Actually, my wife and I stayed here in August 2023. This is good hotel, opposite the train station. We had a spacious room with two comfortable chairs. Modern bathroom; however, the (sliding) door is partially transparent, so if one of us visits the bathroom at night, the other wakes up as well. Breakfast was OK. The hotel was expensive (we paid over €200 for one night, including breakfast).

Hotel was convenient for our stay on Walcheren, sightseeing. However it is a 1980s building and old and dark feeling; ok but nowhere near as appealing as other hotels can be. Worse really was the staff lack of interest. This came across in many subtle ways - no daily 'hello's' or ' how are you's' either walking past the reception desk or at breakfast; no menus marking up gf ingredients; no interest...

Last minute booking. Hotel room is pretty good but it lacked a bottle of water. The vending machine in the hall didn't want to take my card. Breakfast was kinda disappointing. Eggs and bacon: meh, chocolade koek: meh, coffee: gross

Nice and clean. Nice staff who are, as far as I know, all fluent in english. The hotel is very nice!

The place needs updating. Needs shampoo and better dryer. Very tiny bathroom. Coffee pot was broken. Customer service was minimal

Good value, clean with attentive staff We stayed in a nice room, clean, plenty of space with a good strong shower - no bath. However to room could do with better lighting especially over the wardrobe area where the safe was - could hardly see the numbers! Also the only mirror was in the bathroom
