Staraya Melnitsa

I'd rate this 4 - 4.5 if I could - the only negative were the beds in the cottages. ( and only 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom provided! 4 people over 2 days )

The location and theme are really nice - it's not "cheesy" as I was worried about in the photos. 5 minutes walk to the beach. The complex is compact and easy to get around. Air was fresh with just a hint of wood fire smoke ( which was nice )

The cottages are cute and cozy, we built a fire for a small extra fee. Room service and restaurants were good, and service in general was good, reception staff was friendly and helpful. Also, every cottage comes with it's own cat +++ ! ;)

Most importantly, the banyas were really good... we booked both the Russian Banya and Turkish/Finnish Banya. Everything was clean, the rooms/saunas/pools were nice and it was very relaxing.

Online booking could use improvement - you're directed to a 3rd party site to make a reservation, then you get an email with bank transfer information, then are required to confirm via email after a manual bank transfer. Everything worked - but I'd feel much better using an integrated online booking system with credit card.

Probably the hotel rooms have lost its luster over the past 5 years, but we OK with this. I would recommend that you try the cuisines of Georgian and Ukrainian restaurants here. It also seems to be popular with the locals.

Good food, quite expecive, very nice authentic interior and exterior

nice place, good breakfast, room was nice and clean, maybe need a bit more amenities for a very good standard, and a minus is empty frigobar, just a couple bottle of water (free) and 2 tea bags, the chalet is was very nice, comfortable and cozy, in total a good experience

It's cozy place with two pools, one of which is open the whole year. Accommodation is included big rooms and separated houses (cottages). If u want to eat, there are three restaurants with totally different kitchens. The hotel has they own big sea beach. There's a lot of trees around. I stayed here last autumn, and u could use pool free only in morning, if u want use it in evening u should pay some money. Also prices in two restaurants are enough high. I had dinner on two persons on about 3 000 roubles ( 42-45 $) without alcohol (we drank fruit tea). If this conclusion is was valuable for u, ranked it pls. ths. Breakfast was no rich, exectly there wasn't enough desserts.
