The wet canyon of the Psakho River is one of the most beautiful places in Sochi.
It is part of the Sochi National Park.

The canyon was named Wet because of the small, cold, azure-colored river flowing through it.
These places are the northernmost subtropics on our planet, therefore, in addition to the unusual beauty of the rocks, here you can observe plants that are amazing for our country.

A variety of flowers, mosses and ferns grow right on the rocks, the view is mesmerizing!

There are many different excursions offered to the Psakho River Canyon, but few people know how to get there on their own. And this is not difficult at all.
From Adler, direct bus No. 131 takes no more than an hour to the stop “Batayskaya Street, 20” (Galitsyno village). Further through the village we go down to the river. We go out to the left bank near a certain object (a cafe, a number of decorative buildings), we need to wade across the river and then along the right bank along a ladder we go down to the canyon. We see a sign that the route is over. But for us it is just beginning. Again we move to the left bank and see a path, now leading over the stones, now diving into the greenery.
There’s really nothing to do there with small children; adults have to be covered regularly.
We didn't manage to get far, a thunderstorm began, and then rain. We only had time to swim in one lagoon. Having arrived at the cafe, we no longer recognized the place where we waded: the water level had risen by 20 centimeters. We crossed to the right bank without any problems. And then we made a mistake - we decided to sit in the gazebo and wait out the rain. After 15 minutes, in front of us was not a quiet river, but a stormy stream, carrying debris right up to small tree trunks...
We had to move along the right bank to the nearest bridge, the road from which went to Galitsyno.
What can we conclude? The place is very beautiful, accessible for independent visits. The only thing is to watch the weather and have a reserve of time to get out of the canyon in time, which can become a trap.
