Gold Project Hotel

Pros: The bathroom is clean and new with a bathtub and heated towel rail. Incredibly polite, pleasant and attentive staff! Water cooler on the floor. Very good and strong heat, the rooms are warm. Value for money is very good: the hotel is cheap and quite acceptable for the money. Severe Russian comfort. The location is excellent: close to the free shuttle to the ski slopes (20-40 minutes), shops and several cafes.
Cons: The double bed is made up of two single beds. The mattresses and pillows are not particularly comfortable. There was no kettle in the room (although there was one in the next room), but at our request they brought it. Two cups and a glass that were in the room turned out to be dirty, but they were washed at our request. There is no downlight in the room, only two ceiling lamps. The bathroom smelled strongly of vinegar from freshly applied sealant to the sink and tub all four days of our stay. Breakfast is varied, but its quality leaves much to be desired: some dishes are brought cold, pancakes seem to be fried in engine oil. It is better not to dine in the cafe at the hotel: the food is mediocre, and the prices are Moscow. We ordered a transfer from Sochi airport, they sent a car for us without one glass, the window was covered with a film, which was terribly noisy the whole trip, it was very uncomfortable. There is no lift. The staircase between the floors is external: to go down to the cafe for breakfast in winter, you need to dress in outerwear, it is terribly uncomfortable and cold. The door to the stairs closed with difficulty, so our room, which was opposite this door, was blowing all the time. The walls are cardboard, the audibility is unacceptably good.
