Peter the great knew how to live, and lived on a Grand scale: even the water closeto built for greater comfort) But seriously, very cozy place with a small waterfront with beautiful views of the Gulf of Finland.
Awesome atmosphere! Monplaisir was constantly visited by Peter, and here were held the congresses of the yard, formal receptions, the meeting of the Emperor with foreign ambassadors. Be sure to go here!
The Palace, part of Peterhof. Was not inside, and the facade is not impressive. A one-storey building, does not justify the word "Palace." But near it is a picturesque Japanese garden with views of the Gulf of Finland. As part of Peterhof, its worth a visit.
A very interesting place. This Palace was the residential. I.e. it worked, and slept in 1 Peter. The big Palace was used for state Affairs: meetings with ambassadors, court, hold balls, etc. In the Monplaisir shows the life of the Emperor. Oh and by the way: this is the first building in the Russian Empire, which was equipped with a water closet! After meeting with this "necessary" room is the question of where there were located two meters tall man?

Historic and architectonic jewel of Peterhof, personally I find it more attractive that the grand Palace, especially if you have already visited Pushkin and the Hermitage. The bathrooms and inner sources are unique.
