Church of Nativity of Christ in Ryazan
Description
Христорождественский собор — наиболее старая постройка Рязанского кремля. В здании находятся мощи святителя Василия Рязанского. Является одним из двух (зимним) кафедральных соборов Рязанской епархии.
История
Белокаменная кладкаБелокаменная кладка в алтарной части датируется XV веком (при последней реставрации она освобождена от слоя штукатурки). В дальнейшем здание неоднократно подвергалось радикальным перестройкам. Современный облик здания эклектичен, в том числе имеются элементы барокко и классицизма.
До XVIII века собор назывался Успенским, но в связи с постройкой нового Успенского собора старый переименовали в Христорождественский.

I saw this beauty in summer and winter. And in that and in other case, it's impressive! It is a pity that have not completed repairs and restoration. Ryazan is not only the capital of the airborne troops. Ryazan is first and foremost a beautiful RUSSIAN city!!! It is a pity that not all the people of Ryazan understand it:(
