I have been to Koh Lipe multiple times, because I love that little pearl in the Andaman Sea! And I have always booked my stay at Family Song because is the best value for money on the island, without giving up in location, cleanliness and service from the staff. Bungalows are located few steps from the main beach, they are spacious and clean, with fridge and hairdryer. I feel home everytime I go back to Lipe and to Family Song! If you are looking for a lovely place to stay in Lipe you have to go and check it out!

Big room, big bed, properly working ac and WiFi. The room is modern and it has everything you need.
BUT
They charge an additional 3% on your card payment which they tell you about only AFTER you book their place via Booking (so the actual price is higher than what you agreed with Booking).
The surrounding courtyard has poor to non-existent garden maintenance.
You access the hotel via a small smelly side alley (it is smelly but of course that is not the hotel's fault).
Other accomodation options next door offer more (e.g. direct beach access / breakfast, talkative and kind staff) with basically the same price. Sad but true, we stayed at different places on the island and we can tell.
We hope to find an improved situation next time we visit.

Paper thin bamboo bungalow walls,to near the really all night beach bars,so no sleep, and if you're children wakes up early and cries or want to play, the wanna be Italian mafia boss, comes and complaining big time, even if you are in bungalows that doesn't belong to him,and he many big dogs jumping up on people, and come up on the teraces looking for food,and goes through your rubbish bin, so not recommend for small children families. You are a lier and not telling the truth,and must take care next time you come near me and my baby 😘 I really hate liers,I paid 10 000 Bath you big liar, and the bungalownot yours,i paid to the family, and non of them complained to me...

Cheap standard bungalows in 2nd / 3rd beach row — no private beach. Cosy bed with mosquito net, fridge, electric kettle and hair dryer provided free of charge — beach towels and snorkels for rent. So far, so fine — however you need to tolerate mosquitos, cockroaches and other amphibians in your private (bath-)room. Breakfast and coffee were tasty.

Nice little bungalows with everything you need. The owner was nice and friendly and the rooms were nice enough for what you pay for ! Don't stay here if you're a princess who can't deal with bugs, you're in a Thai made bungalow!! Expect the odd gecko/cockroach/mosquito to slip through the cracks. The only reason we moved from here was because the place we were scuba diving at was at the opposite end of the island, otherwise we would have stayed longer :)
