Seaside Inn Morro Bay in Morro Bay

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was disgusting and extremely dirty, it looked like the sheets had never been cleaned. However, that was the least of our concerns. The walls are unbelievably thin, basically non existent and our neighbours were HORRIBLE. They blasted heavy rock music all night - our room was shaking. They also engaged in other very loud activities multiple times throughout the night, and we could hear EVERYTHING. I am scarred. This standard of living is unacceptable and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. The only redeeming factor is the proximity to the marina and beach but I highly recommend staying anywhere else. Nothing is worth it.

If you're looking for the worst hotel in Califirnia I think this is it. Not clean, spackle on the walls, musty smells even in the bedding. 3 day weekend and no other option. The only upside is the location. A short walk to the bay with 3 or more great seafood spots. Just don't stay at the Seaside Inn.

You get what you pay for. It was very, very basic, but clean. Location was great, but the room smelled like stale cigarettes and the towels felt like sandpaper. Bed/pillows were comfy. For a quick, very brief overnight stay at the last minute, it served its purpose, but I wouldn't stay there again.

The worst motel I have ever stayed at. I regret the day I saw this listing. Unfortunately, I had not read enough reviews before booking and was unaware that the motel has a bed bug infestation. After the first night of staying here, my partner woke up with 18 bed bug bites on his arms, legs, hands and neck (I could not fall asleep that night and decided to be productive instead, I did not sleep in the bed which is why I had no bites). My partner is very allergic to bed bugs and his arms became so inflamed from the bites that we had to go to urgent care and get a prescription ointment to treat them (he had bed bugs 6 years ago, which is why he knows he is allergic). Besides the bed bugs, the rooms were unsanitary in general. When we first walked in, I noticed hair on the toilet seat and there was also hair covering the bathroom floor, which I cleaned up myself. Then, when we pulled the comforter off the bed, we could see the sheets were also covered in multiple types of hair. It looked like a mix of the hair I saw on the toilet and dog hair. We did ask the owner for new sheets that night, which he gave to us. After showing the owner the bed bug bites on my partner's arm the next day, he swore that there were no bed bugs and gave us a new room. That room was also not cleaned, as there was dog food all over the floor. One would think after receiving complaints about cleanliness, they would make sure the next room would be clean, but it wasn't. As the day went on, my partner's bites got larger and more inflamed. He did not want to stay at the motel any longer because he was already in pain from the he bites he had, and we were not going to risk more bites. Also, bed bugs are very invasive and will follow you home, which we also did not want to risk. We went to the owner, requesting a refund. We had only stayed one night, and I had booked us for four. We tried to explain the situation but right when my partner brought the bed bug bites up again, the owner immediately started screaming at us and told us to leave. He refused to give us our money back. He called us liars, said we brought the bed bugs, threatened to call the police and told us to leave his motel. I was happy to leave, I just wanted my money back and some sympathy for causing my partner so much discomfort. We filed a claim with the San Louis Obispo health department, hopefully they will investigate. Please DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. Bed bugs are a serious issue and they will follow you home. When my partner had them 6 years ago he had to spend $4,000 to have his home superheated to get rid of the bugs. After we left the hotel, we bagged all our clothes up, threw them in the dryer a few times, sanitized everything we could to not bring the bugs with us. It is extremely upsetting that the owner does not take his bed bug infestation seriously, and his hostile attitude towards us was very concerning.

Manger was very nice and helpful. He kept a good watchout for what was going on on the property. The room seemed to be clean or appeared to be clean, everything in the unit was old and the mini fridge leaked and didn't work properly.
While relaxing, we noticed a roach crawling across the mini fridge.

We booked a two night stay with a King sized bed through Orbitz. When we arrived, the owner tried to give us a Queen, saying we hadn't paid enough because Orbitz took a commission. We finally convinced him we had paid for the King. Apparently they only have queen sized sheets, as they were too small for the bed. The towels were very thin and rough, and he refused our request for extras. There was a cute little envelope asking for tips, however, returning to our room the next day, the bed had not been made. The floor by the bed had dirt and litter from a previous customer. The refrigerator, microwave, and light were plugged into the same surge protector, and the wall recepticle was worn out and had problems gripping the plug. You'd be hard pressed to find rougher tissue paper. We wanted to leave the bathroom window open, but there was no screen. On the plus side, it was quiet, the bathroom was clean, and the shower was great!
