great room size, well appointed with excellent outlook of the morning sunrise over the esplanade. highly recommended

Love this place. We stay here every time we're in Cairns. Pet friendly rooms and just across the road from the park.

Really good location, close to beach front restaurants and main Cairns shopping district. Good facilities and beautiful views.

I booked after reading alot of positive reviews. My initial impression was not great. Based on reviews I expected the place to be staffed however I needed to collect the key from a key box. This was reasonably straight forward. Staff was responsive by phone.

I believe I was in an unrenovated room (room 5) and there were some issues in the room such as the toilet pan not being fixed to the floor (OHS risk). There was a hole in the lino near the shower and there was a bit of a musty smell in the room. The paint on the roof and windows was badly cracked.

In spite of all this, my stay was rather pleasant. The guest house is small and private. Most times I had the pool to myself or at most with one other guest.

The hotel tends to attract more mature minded guests. It was never noisy and I felt safe and private.

The location on the esplanade is reasonable. A moderate walk to the shops. Maybe 15 to 20 minutes. The walk is pleasant in the evening but hot in the middle of the day.

The room was well equipped with a kettle, toaster, microwave glasses, plates cutlery etc. However as they were tucked away in the cupboards this was not immediately apparent. There is a small / medium supermarket around 200 metres walk.

The decor is very traditional queenslander and it was an experience to stay there for that reason. There was a good vibe in the room.

The bed and bedding were comfortable and the room had good air conditioning and fans.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and would likely stay again, however I recommend the owner address the maintenance issues promptly.

Beautiful and cozy property on the beautiful Cairns Esplanade. Management was super helpful and friendly. Fantastic air conditioning which is a must have in the Cairns heat. Only 2mins away from the hospital and local cafes. Apartment was fully self contained and perfect for my 5week stay.

Fantastic place really homely ! Manger Lynn is brilliant, very welcoming and always up a good chat. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and tell them not to bother with any other place cause it’s so lovely. If I’m ever I’m in Carins again I will be coming back and bringing my mates !
P.s if you’ve got a blocked ear hop on the opposite leg it works ! Thanks Lynn xxx

Great place to stay and so close to The Esplanade, restaurants and shops - especially when you're on a budget. Lyn was fantastic and helpful - thank you for everything!
