Very clean place, close to downtown, we had quiet warm room in the middle of the winter storm, restaurant and food was fantastic.Great service!!!

Nice family oriented hotel. Very quiet and located near the park I run and swim every morning . The pool is good size and well maintained.

There is a restaurant on the ground floor and a life chalga music till midnight. So is not easy to get asleep, before AM

We have stayed here 5 times and each time we love it , this is the 1st we got to the pool ,it was fantastic the bar outside was fully stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful

A perfect stopover on our travel. A good dinner, wonderful pool, excellent staff. We really regretted to leave before spending another day here. For sure we will return and I will recommend this place.

It’s not the best hotel I’ve been to, but overall it’s not bad either. The rooms are clean, well air conditioned, tidy. The staff is also very friendly

The only objection is that you cannot pay with cards, so if you haven't managed to change money into local currency - you have a problem! 😁

If you are backpacker is expensive but for hotel the price is normal. The hotel furniture are not old but some places needs a fix. Parking spot with security camera

Very good place to eat for Targovishte

Reception was spotless and welcoming but very slow. Checking in and out of the hotel went smoothly but slow. Only the ventilation in the bathroom was weird

Breakfast was a premade portion and although they didn't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian they corrected it without a problem

This time the central courtyard area of the restaurant was closed up due to the colder wet weather, and they even had a Christmas tree standing there decorated with lots of coloured lights, and more lights strung across the area

The hotel is very centrally situated right next to the main square and pedestrian only walkway with lots of shops and park areas nearby. The hotel has an excellent restaurant serving great food at good prices

In one week the sheets and towels were changed once (so far so good), but the room was cleaned only once and after a week, and it was explained to us that we had not left the key at the reception and the maid did not dare to enter ????? For the first time I hear such a thing :) but anyway

The room housed 8 smells (bugs) which I released the first night :) On the issue of food in the lobby next to the reception there are brochures for ordering food for home, you can take advantage of the fact that in mobile applications there is less choice

I can't say that the internet is very good, but it is satisfactory. It is relatively quiet in and around the hotel. Convenience for smokers is that it has a terrace, and you do not have to go out in front of the hotel

It is warm, the heating is central, the room has air conditioning and TV. The cable is not of good quality at all, the picture is quite bad, but it is not desperately bad. I did not like the hygiene in the hotel

We stopped to have quick lunch. However it was so nice so we decided to stay a bit. The personal is very professional. The garden is amazing, our kid enjoyed so much. In the restaurant everything is good

Old building and room's furniture, though clean rooms. Few kilometres away from Targovishte but with car you can make it for 5min. Beside some drawbacks, the place is quiet, peaceful, and with nice nature

You should cut another star, because you can't find a parking space at this hotel! One solution would be to park in Bucharest, at the North Station, at the mayor's office, and sleep in Sumen at the Mehdjarel hotel ...

It felt like I was home. The staff was really helpful and friendly and the room was exceptionally clean.

A good and cozy place to spend the night and for a longer stay. Pleasant and good hosts, with good maintenance of hygiene and comfort.

We have stayed here for 1 week in February 2017 and I cannot praise this Hotel enough. It is a small hotel , but the staff are great and the rooms are very clean. we are going back in April and staying here again

The hotel is clean even with the white colour dominating in the interior. The restaurant in the hotel offers delicious quality food and the server (Tosho) was very professional and entertaining

If you need to stay in Shumen area, this is an excellent option. Very clean, nice looking room, polite personal, free parking and good WiFi , everything working and great location, just 7 min walk from city center

The location of the hotel is good and the view from our room (6th floor) was nice. There were cupcakes and easter eggs as a compliment to the guests. The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful

Great location near the pedestrian zone in the city center. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was very delicious with a variety of food.

Renamed "Grand Hotel Shumen", it seems that it's had a recent refurbishment so I think the "Grand" title is applicable, this is an ex communist hotel and every town/city has one, this hotel is probably in the top 10 in Bulgaria

It is very cosy and comfortable however make sure you ask for a room facing the backyard/not facing the street/ when booking as otherwise it is very noisy.

the smell in the room was unpleasant, the coach was broken, the linens weren't enough, the wifi was awful, the staff doesn't speak English. The good thing to thank for is possible late arrival

Small, reasonable hotel in Shumen. The rooms are small, tidy and with modern look. However the baths are really small. There is no elevator and the parking on the street is full quite often

There was no breakfast included when I stayed there

Not bad hotel in the very center of the town. It does have small parking at the back, which usually is a problem in the center. The room was spacious and clean, although a bit dated. Staff was great.

The receptionist can speak english. The hotel is ok, the internet was stable and fast. There are much stairs to climb to the rooms and the breakfast was poor.

Although not mentioned breakfast is available for a small charge which was OK. Room was clean and comfortable with a good view of the Founders of the Bulgarian State Monument and the WiFi worked well.

+ : Amazing location in top city centre. The rooms and big enough, but maybe needs little improvement inside. - : No elevator, and you must carry your luggage on the stairs until you reach your floor

Excellent hotel at a reasonable price. I mean it was sparkling, spotless, incredible, super clean! I really liked the decoration, there was a desk for work and the room was cozy and comfortable

The bathroom is traditional Bulgarian - WC + washbasin + shower in one room. It is maybe strange - but traditional :-)! The restaurant offers good meals for average prices

There is a coffee machine available. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and will come back. So far this place is my favorite in Shumen

In June 2023 there were not any breakfasts offered - probably because of the lack of guests. But the shop including coffee machine is 100 meters from the hotel

Generally, the hotel is located near the sea (200 metres - according to my Amazfit). Rooms are cleaned every day, there are not problems with wifi or TV

Returned after eight years the place still looks as good as when we left it. The place has an oriental Boho admosphere and the Appartments are spacious and staff friendly and their English is good

I spend much time in this hotel in the last 5-7 years, really liked the rooms, the atmosphere and the kitchen.
