Dunhuang Moshanghua Theme Inn (Dunhuang Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring Branch) in Dunhuang

Dunhuang Shanzhuang is truly close to Mingsha Mountain; you can even see it from your room window. Since it was the off-season, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a family room, which was perfect for two adults and one child. Although we went to breakfast every day at 7:30 AM, the staff were incredibly welcoming. The room amenities were excellent, including a foot bath, perfect for relaxing after a tiring day. The air conditioning was strong, so it was never cold, and plenty of bottled water was provided daily. Upon check-in, they even gave us small camel figurines and yogurt.

They provided two sets of toiletries daily, which was enough for the three of us. Unlike some hotels that only provide two towels even when they know there are three guests, forcing you to call for extra service, the service here was spot-on. Every staff member you encountered greeted you warmly and enthusiastically, making you feel very welcome. Although the hotel has been open for a long time, and some of the facilities are decades old, it doesn't detract from your stay at all. Breakfast included Lanzhou beef noodles and lamb soup; starting the day with freshly pulled beef noodles was fantastic and kept us warm when heading out. They also gave us a special latte with latte art, intended for enjoying the sunset. Although we didn't have time to watch the sunset, the latte art was a nice touch. Staying during the off-season was a really great experience, quite different from those budget hotels in the city. It's definitely worth staying here.

This hotel has a lot of local character and is very close to Mingsha Mountain, within walking distance. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by a large camel, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. They immediately offer red date tea upon check-in, which warms you right up. The complimentary camel toy from the hotel is adorable, and the room's heating is excellent – definitely remember to turn on the humidifier. I enjoyed a coffee at the Star-Gazing Pavilion while waiting for the sunset; Mingsha Mountain looks completely different then. Breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular, but it's hard to expect too much during the off-season. Everything was just right.

We drove ourselves, and the service was impeccable. As soon as we arrived, someone came to help with our luggage. The hotel even thoughtfully covered our car with a frost-proof blanket because of the large temperature difference between day and night. Since it was the off-season, we received a complimentary upgrade to a better room and breakfast. The breakfast at Zhaixing Pavilion was, without a doubt, excellent. Even though it's an older hotel, the service rivals that of ultra-luxury five-star hotels.

The hotel provides complimentary humidifiers, camel souvenirs, and yogurt. The breakfast is extensive. Although it's right next to Crescent Lake, it's very close to Mogao Grottoes and performance venues, just a fifteen-minute drive away.

Its a very beautiful hotel . Staffs are friendly and smiling . They have huge breakfast selection but i would say its okay in taste wise. Walkable distance to Mingsha Mountain . If you are using a Didi or Taxi to come in this hotel either from airport or from Mogao Exhibition Center , its called Dunhuang Mountain Villa . I noticed that taxi drivers or the App doesnt pull or know The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel.

Facilities: All-inclusive, no complaints whatsoever. Couldn't think of anything missing.
Cleanliness: Plenty clean, up to par for a hotel of this caliber.
Ambiance: Highly recommended! Perfectly captures the essence of Dunhuang, with its desert frontier vibe and a strong ancient Chinese aesthetic.
Service: Every staff member was incredibly polite and attentive.

Finally, the breakfast restaurant is called 'Zhai Xing Ge' (Stargazer Pavilion), and you can also grab coffee there at other times. You can even gaze out at Mingsha Mountain (Singing Sand Mountain) from there. How amazing is that?

Quite an amazing experience! I was genuinely impressed the moment I walked into the hotel; the decor is incredibly charming and aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant also has its own unique character, and there are so many activities available within the hotel. It's truly fantastic! The staff are all very enthusiastic. If I ever get the chance to visit Dunhuang again, I'll definitely stay here.

Five-star service! It was freezing cold, and they even covered my car's windshield while it was parked outside, so there was no frost the next morning. Everyone was very welcoming upon arrival and departure. Plus, it's very close to the Mingsha Mountain scenic area.

The hotel is excellently located, with good amenities. We traveled during the quieter season and loved the relative peace and quiet. Service at the hotel was exceptional, rooms were clean and staff were very attentive. I'd highly recommend the hotel to any travelers.

Facilities: The only downside is that I could hear everything my neighbors said.
Hygiene: Very clean, someone cleaned it every day.
Environment: The environment here speaks for itself, perfect for watching the sunrise 🌅.
Service: The service here is really great, probably because it's the off-season. Room service arrived as soon as I called, and they even delivered takeout to my room. The restaurant staff were incredibly enthusiastic. I would definitely stay here again.
