The hotel has an older 5-star renovation but is very clean. Staff helped with luggage upon arrival. There's an electric vehicle parking area in front of the hotel, which is super convenient for independent travelers during holidays.

This hotel has a very cultured vibe. I stayed for two nights and it really felt like a home away from home. The room had a bathtub, the bedding was comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly.

This is an old-school hotel, but the rooms are clean and tidy, with a strong Chinese feel. The water pressure for showers is excellent. It's very quiet at night, and the lake view from the window is beautiful. The breakfast spread is generous, and there were many foreigners. The foreign language skills of the staff at the breakfast counter could be improved, though.

An established hotel with a good location.

This is my fourth time visiting Guilin, and I'm so glad I chose Guilin Hotel this time. It's right by榕 Lake, the service is excellent, the rooms are clean, and the bedding is comfortable. The breakfast offers a great variety, and you can see many tour groups, both local and international, staying here. It's really good value for money. Whether I'm visiting or just passing through Guilin, I always choose the Shangri-La Hotel. The overall environment and facilities are very comfortable, the service is excellent, and the rooms are clean. They have my favorite rice noodles for breakfast. I'll definitely come back next time.

Great location. All main sights are just around the hotel. Standard for mariott class of service which is good. We were during off season, so it was quiet and nice.

It's difficult to give a review when a hotel is in the middle of renovation. But I would like to comment on the service. Even though Guilin is essentially a city focused on tourism the staff exceeded my expectations when it came to efficiency, friendliness, and attitude. Front desk, concierge, breakfast and café and pool staff, they were all offered excellent service!

The fantastic thing of this hotel is its location. It's a river view hotel. Rooms are spacious but not well maintained. Breakfast was not good, but foods at their restaurant are very good. Specially fish in broth item is marvelous. Walking around this hotel is actually sightseeing. Night market is nearby. Staffs need more professional training and English knowledge.

The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and the room was spacious and clean. They offered afternoon tea and had an outdoor garden. Plus, there's a private entrance from the hotel directly into Elephant Trunk Hill scenic area, so you can get there and snap a picture in just three minutes! Five stars, absolutely!

Right next to Elephant Trunk Hill, you can enter the park without a reservation, which is super convenient.
