Another letdown! I ended up in a room with dated, mahogany-style furniture. They even charged 2 RMB for bottled water; otherwise, you were stuck with their basic, cheap brand. Is this really a five-star hotel? Aren't the facilities showing their age? The desk was peeling and cracked. Seriously?! The moment I stepped in, there was this strong disinfectant smell – or something else, I couldn't quite place. But since it was raining, I grudgingly stayed the night anyway. Poor me, a business traveler expecting a five-star experience, only to land in what felt like an antique hotel. Next time, I'm definitely checking the renovation date. Anything renovated before 2020 is a definite no-go for me. Oh, and the bathroom scale? What a sight! It looked like a massive chunk of metal designed for weighing elephants. And don't most hotels usually provide two room cards? I only got one. The floor was cracked in multiple places. The carpet desperately needed cleaning and reeked. I won't even get into the other stuff. Go experience it yourself...

My trip around Northeast China culminated in the absolute worst hotel experience at this place in Shenyang – it was unbelievably bad. We arrived at noon, but our room wasn't ready, so we had to wait. After finally checking in later that evening, the power in our room went out within five minutes. We were then moved to a different room, only to discover that the bathroom's floor drain was completely blocked and wouldn't drain. Ctrip really needs to scrutinize the quality of the hotels they list.

This is my first hotel review, and it's for a supposedly five-star hotel. We checked in a little after 6 PM, with four adults and two children, into two rooms, each with two beds. After settling our elderly family members, we headed out to Zhongjie Street and didn't get back until after 10 PM. As we were about to settle in for the night, we discovered bugs. On closer inspection, we found several types, which likely entered through the window screens. However, there was one type that couldn't fly but only hopped, strongly resembling fleas. We immediately called the front desk, but they claimed they didn't know what kind of bugs these were. It was truly terrifying! What if they bit the children? We were subsequently moved to a 'deluxe' room, but it made little to no difference. To make matters worse, the bedding was noticeably damp, forcing us to request yet another sheet change. At check-out the next day, only one staff member offered a perfunctory apology. There was no further explanation or satisfactory resolution. The whole ordeal dragged on for over an hour. Considering such appalling hygiene, there was absolutely no proper explanation or compensation offered. Finally, I received a call offering a room upgrade for a future stay. I made it unequivocally clear that I would not be returning.
