Weihai International Seaview City Hotel in Weihai

Complaint! The service attitude of the male front desk staff on duty on the evening of December 10, 2025, at the Weihai International Seaview City Hotel was extremely poor. Even though it was the off-season and there weren't many people around at night, we walked all the way to the front desk, which was empty. We initially thought there was no one there, and only then did he leisurely get up from a chair in the lobby. His appearance was very slovenly; at first, I didn't even realize he was the front desk staff, I thought he was just a guest resting in the lobby.

His attitude was also very bad when checking us in later. He just handed us the room card without telling us which room it was. Later, when we needed to heat up the takeout food we'd packed at noon, and we were heating it up at the front desk on the first floor, he didn't assist us at all and just sat there playing on his phone. And then! The hotel lobby had a very strong and unpleasant smell of smoke. For a hotel that costs nearly two hundred yuan a night, even in the off-season, is this the impression they want to give guests?

Later, when we were packing, we forgot to grab chopsticks and asked him to help find a pair. He just symbolically looked around the front desk and said there were none, then dismissed us. This service experience was absolutely terrible. The hotel has a restaurant; is finding a pair of chopsticks really that difficult?

We then extended our stay for another day. The weather was quite cold these two days, and the air conditioner in our room suddenly stopped working. We called the front desk to ask what was going on. And yes, it was this same gentleman on duty that night. He said the AC remote control might be out of battery and told us to come downstairs to get a new one. I said we had been out all day and asked if he could bring it up to us. He said no, stating he was the only one at the front desk and couldn't leave. How long would it take to get a battery? He doesn't even need to climb stairs for the elevator. Is he really that unwilling to work? If so, go home and sleep; why sit at the front desk playing on your phone? Did bringing a battery interfere with his phone time?

After another call, with a slightly more assertive tone, it was brought up in less than two minutes. Couldn't this have been resolved quickly? (It wasn't actually resolved; the AC still didn't work.) Why did he have to be so difficult? Did he think we were easy to push around because we were being polite?

In short, there was no service to speak of. Are the front desk staff at such a large hotel put to work without any training? Is this how hotels treat guests just because it's the off-season? Do they judge guests based on their appearance? They really need to rectify and train their staff. We came to Weihai with full expectations for our trip, and encountering this kind of service really affects one's mood.

Finally, the hotel's location is really good; it's convenient to go anywhere. It's just the front desk service that is absolutely terrible!!!!!!
