Camping Glavotok in KRK

We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately I broke my foot just a few days after booking. I fully understand the cancellation policy, but given the very special circumstances I had hoped for some flexibility or goodwill. Being referred only to the rules left us quite disappointed. Even a partial refund or the option to transfer our deposit to next year would have been a very kind solution

We have stayed at Camping Glavotok several times because it is beautifully and idyllically located on the island of Krk with a view of Rijeka. Children also have a lot of fun here.

However, a word of caution: a VIP pitch with a better view and direct beach access does not necessarily mean it’s actually a great spot. Our VIP pitch was located behind a tall hedge — we couldn’t see the sea while sitting and the children not even while standing, for a good view we needed to stand on tiptoes (see photos). The hedge was trimmed a little at the top, but the result remained that we could practically not see the sea at all.

In addition, the so-called VIP pitch was located right next to the boat access road, which meant we frequently heard loud car engine and wheel noises and the squeaking of boats early in the morning and in the evening.

We asked to change the pitch several times, but they could not accomodate us. To be fair, after we complained, we received a discount of €45 for the entire week — but that doesn't come close to making up for the additional cost of the VIP pitch, especially considering that the €45 amounted to less than 5% of the total price for the week.

I strongly recommend clarifying in advance whether the pitch truly offers proximity to the sea and an unobstructed sea view.

The central sanitary facilities have at least been renovated, but there are some design flaws. Washing dishes is nearly impossible for taller people without severely bending over, as the sinks are placed too low. In the individual bath cabins, the light is mounted only in the center of the ceiling, making it almost impossible to see your face properly in the mirror. Also, the capacity of the sanitary facilities is insufficient — during peak times, you have to queue for both the toilets and the showers.

But compared to the issue with the VIP pitch, these are just minor details.

All in all, we still really like the camp, but as longtime visitors, are disappointed by the service we experienced.

I've been to this camping for a couple of days and it was more than enough. It is located in a nice side of Krk island with really nice beaches. However, the are a few points that forced us to leave earlier than expected. First of all, the toilette and showers are really outdated and underdimensioned for such a camping (long queue before dinner time) and they have really poor hygienic conditions, expecially in the pandemic time.
In addition, the shower closes at 10pm which does not make any sense!
For 54 euros a night (2 person + 1 tent) I would expect much more!!
