It was a beautiful stay, really magical arctic wonderland.
The staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional.

Personally loved the location but it might not be for everyone — the road from hotel to the Saariselka center is some 2.5 kilometres. For me, it was an opportunity to enjoy some lovely winter scenery, but the return uphill can be a bit challenging if you're not in good shape.
If this is an issue however, there is a (pricey) taxi option as well as ski bus that's 6e for the whole day, so definitely shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Long story short, Star Arctic is absolutely the place to be if you're looking to immerse yourself in out of this world arctic experience.

If you are looking for an Arctic Circle Experience (Northern Lights, Dog Sledding, Snow Machines, Reindeer Sleighs, Snow Showing, Ice Fishing)
This is the place.
My wife and I travel often, and this trip to Saariselka was more amazing than we ever imagined.
The staff were the greatest. Friendly, Accommodating, Respectful...
We absolutely LOVED this place and will be back.

We had a fantastic experience at Star Arctic Hotel. The staff were extremely professional, attentive, and helpful with everything.

Although we had to wait about 20 minutes for check-in, they immediately invited us to the bar and offered complimentary cocktails. Due to a minor room-type confusion, they also kindly provided us with dinner, which we truly appreciated.

Even though we had a very early check-out, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us — such a thoughtful touch.

Yes, the prices may seem high (and they are), but the overall experience absolutely justifies it. We highly recommend staying here — especially in the brand-new Aurora Suites.

My wife and I were truly pleased with our stay, and we hope you will be too!

The view is fantastic.

We stayed in the room with a private sauna and bathtub. It was lovely and very comfortable. The private sauna was great after our day time and evening winter activities to warm up. The included breakfast is nice but nothing special. The hotel does provide you with very warm thermal snow suits, gloves, boots, and mittens which is great for staying warm during your stay.

We came right after Christmas so the prices were extremely expensive (about twice the normal cost) which was unfortunate. The staff was very helpful and the snowmobile tour and husky experiences were wonderful. My favorite part of the hotel was the hotel manager’s alaskan malamute. She’s so friendly and hangs out in the reception area.

Unfriendly staff unwilling to offer any flexibility.
The room was small and unremarkable.
The breakfast was passable.
The lunch and dinner was mediocre.
At the events though we had traditional chicken nuggets and fish fingers along with fries.

My travel partner slipped on ice and broke their arm. The hotel was very helpful in navigating emergency care, medical resources, and providing us with the support (to go meals) throughout the stay. They made special arrangements so that my travel partner was able to see the aurora after the injury. They also helped with travel insurance claim afterwards.

Other than the injury, I’ve had an absolutely amazing experience with Star Arctic hotel. The staff are super welcoming and helpful, even when I’m asking silly and basic questions. Food is really nice, delicious and with a good variety throughout our stay. Rooms are clean and comfy, I loved the sauna especially. Scenery is breathtaking. Even just staying there is a blessing. Activities are fun and staff is welcoming and considerate. 10/10 would recommend.

Perched on a peaceful hilltop overlooking town of Saariselkä, this hotel offers a picture-perfect Arctic retreat. We stayed for two nights in a View Suite, and the name doesn’t disappoint—floor-to-ceiling windows frame a stunning panorama of the snow-kissed valley below. The room was everything we hoped for: sleek, spotless, and cozy, with all the essentials thoughtfully provided.

During our stay, some melting snow caused minor waterlogging near our room. We requested a room change, and the staff handled it graciously, even helping us move our things. That level of service really stood out.

Speaking of service—everyone we interacted with was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was generous, offering a good spread to suit most tastes, and the in-house restaurant shares the same incredible view. We dined there one evening and tried the Fried Arctic Char and the Reindeer Top Roast. While the reindeer initially came more well-done than we’d requested, the staff replaced it without hesitation—and the second attempt was absolutely spot on.

All in all, it was a nice stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in Lapland’s magical landscapes.

It is a place close to the ski resort and a romantic place for couples. The view from the top of the mountain is beautiful. The accommodation is clean and warm.
