This hotel has seen better days.

Furniture in the rooms are quite dated. Had two shower/bathrooms in my room. Still do not understand why. Breakfest was good and the location is great.

+ Swimming pools and public saunas were good + Food was great + The rooms were clean and big. + Good parking space - Staff were friendly but forgot to charge us 2 times. First time of a beer and second time of our hotel room! Very unprofessional. - The sauna in the room was a waste of money since you could barely fit one person inside. - The hotel looks very old and ugly from the outside.

Great location. Nice hotel, and very clean! Breakfast is good too. The sauna in the room was the smallest one I have ever been at, but it works quite ok.

Easy to arrive with a lot of free parking although parking spots are quite narrow for a big car. Service at reception was very happy and friendly. The room was totally outdated standard with also almost no electricity sockets in any practical places. It was quite spacious and made from too previous single rooms, although strangely there was two small toilet/showers left probably after renovations....

Lovely location close to some decent walks. Food was tasty. Rooms were above satisfactory. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Great location, heated attached garage!!! Good location in the heart of Kajaani. Room was nicer than expected - bathroom was gorgeous, room was small but fine. Wifi was too weak to stream Netflix, fine, but otherwise a winner. Best part - it was -35C but had zero concerns as my car was in an attached heated garage for 8 euros that kept it at around 2C. After a freezing cold trip, thank you!

Good hotel in city centre. Kind and helpful staff, great breakfast. Free parking for a night in front of hotel. Room with lots of space.

Sokos Hotel Valjus is located right in the middle of Kajaani. It has been partly renovated and I was lucky to be assigned a renovated room. The service at the reception was very friendly. The room was new and, clean offering no frills but instead was very basic. The bathroom design is silly; when taking a shower you are about to make the whole bathroom floor wet. Breakfast was quite basic with nothing...

Nice spacious room with sauna (upgrade) nice staff very helpful. Hot water in the room for coffee, tea or chocolate, this was replenished for free every day. The only disadvantage was that you had to go across the street for breakfast, which was in a different building. The breakfast was great by the way!

Absolutely love it for their lunch offers.

Friendly staff. Tidy room. Great view. Grocery shopping in walking distance. Hiking trail around the lake. Problems: My room doesn't have a fridge, nor kettle. Tiny portable fridge was provided, but it's just too noisy to keep it running overnight. Commercial trucks are allowed to park very close to the building. Extensive idling starting at 0600 below your window isn't quite the best sound to begin...

Nice and easy place. Good breakfast and easy check in. Even at night. I stayed in beautiful single room.

This hotel is ok for one night stay close to citycenter. No A/C so it gets hot in the summer. The bathrooms would need renovation asap. Rooms are old and very unconfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff not available 24/7. Still ok for the money we paid.

location is okay, pictures looked much better than reality, rooms were okay, a bit old fashioned, but not really clean - overall a bit disappointing Service have been quite friendly, food still to try out

A lovely stop in the city of Kajaani. Established in an old manor, this hotel is full of charms: spacious rooms, decorated in an ancient fashion. The room had a private sauna accessible directly from the bathroom. The breakfast was good, buffet style, though not extraordinary. Staff is so helpful. Reserved a taxi from airport for me ahead of time as I arrived after reception hours. Looked up bus schedules in the region to help me get to a music festival at Kuhmo. Beautiful, comfortable, authentic Finnish, good breakfast.

It's pretty simple equipped a small room in courtyard building, dimly lit bathroom and shower in the plastic mat. Plus a fruit plate. The main building is great and the breakfast was good. More than 90€ price for the room quality a bit hard.

The most astonishing spot experienced in Finland. The panorama from the wooden cabin through the glass window in winter is simply breathtaking. The hiking paths around the hill are amazing. The personnel is also very helpful. All in all, highly recommended. One tip: Remember to do some food shopping before arriving, the closest shopping center is ca. 20km away by car.

Ni e location, until the last second I was sure Google maps took us to a dead end and then the hotel popped out. Just remember that linen cost extra 12 euros per person

Tranquil location, outstanding scenery and great hosts! Highly recommended for nature lovers, many routes for snowshoeing and hiking.

Most welcoming and lovely staff! : ) Great for visiting with kids, separate playroom and couldn't be more central location. Levi slopes and services right on the doorstep.
