Majatalo Pihlajapuu in Nurmes

We loved our stay with Minna at her beautiful guesthouse (an old school!). My 2nd time on her guest house ski tour and I enjoyed every minute. go for the lovely xc skiing through finnish forests and fields, and enjoy the tasty local food.

Fantastic place for a gateaway. The hosts are wonderful, highly recommended

Finnish nature adventure. Vast forests ;clear lake baths. Good hospitality. The tour guides speaks multiple languages. Most beautiful sauna with barbecue hut adjacent. We need to come back in winter. Canoes available. My family stayed in the apartment. One bedroom, full kitchen and a living-room with one bed and a sofa plus AC. WC with wash basin. Separate shower and sauna in the apartment. Clean and practical. One hike to a nearby nature reserve. 10 or 5 k hiking ending with elk sausage’s over open fire.

Pihlajapuu was an amazing Place. The Foot was perfekt, the Owner was friendly and helpful, the house was beautyful and the location was intresting.
All in all 10 out of 10 woud definitely recommend.

We booked a week of Guesthouse to Guesthouse Cross Country Skiing with Mina.
Impressed with how well organised the week was. We stayed in 3 different Guest houses the last one being Minnas Majatalo Pihlajapuu / Aksyt Ammat Oy.

The facilities were great. Boot, Ski hire, excellent guiding, very friendly guest houses. Loads and loads of great mostly locally sourced and prepared / cooked food.

The smoked sauna experience was unique.

Friendly staff, beautiful place and good food, one of the best guesthouses I've stayed at in Finland :) the bike tour continued with a good mood.

Pihlajapuu Guesthouse is one of the best places to stay during my life. The old school is a charming building and the accommodation is beautiful. There is a gym in the courtyard where children can rave. The food is excellent and vegetarian food is available on request. The staff at the inn are really friendly. There are many hiking opportunities in the surrounding area, including the Raesärkki area and trails. We have visited Pihlajapuu with my family twice and I hope to get to it many more times. Very warm recommendation!

We had a fantastic time here for 14 days. Minna, the hostess of Pihlajapuu, took us to beautiful landscapes. The cuisine is excellent, it is cooked with love and there is no risk of weight gain as there are various sports activities available every day. From canoe tours, to cycling, hiking in the most beautiful national parks, archery and badminton in our own gym to playing cycling, Minna made everything possible. We got to know several saunas and then bathed in the lake / river. In short, Minna was able to inspire us for the country and its people. We'd love to come back to see her and Finland.

Such a special place wonderful and helpful staff great skiing and lovely views and the best food in Finland. Guest house to guest skiing tour stole my heart. Would recommend it to everyone who likes to ski.
