Excellent food and service. Rooms were little loud, one could easily hear the night club until 3 am.

Good food and close to the railway 🚃 station 🚉. So, it's easy to Helsinki if your train is around 06:00 am.

I think this may be the best hotel in Joensuu? It locates just in front of train station, with nice breakfast, but it may have weak wifi in the room…., also limited time for Sauna is a bit pity

Nice hotel near market square and railway station.

Pleasant stay for one night in Joensuu. The staff was very friendly (as you'd expect in Northern Carelia overall) and the hotel was clean and overall very pleasant. The room was spatious and quiet and we enjoyed the breakfast, especially the local carelian pastries.

Excellent place to accommodate. Such warm Carelian hospitality from the staff. Clean room, great sauna facilities with jacuzzi and steam sauna.

Got room on what seems to be the old side, so a bit run down. Also had to use extra lift to navigate within the same floor with child cart.

Nice hotel at the centre. Easy parking, lot of restaurants and good shopping facilities.

We stayed here while in Joensuu for the Biathlon World Cup in nearby Kontiolahti. On some of the other reviews, there were comments about the lack of character. Yes, it does lack this, but be honest - this is not what you are visiting Joensuu! NEGATIVES - the are only two negatives. The first was that the bathroom was VERY small and in need of updating. Yes, I am from the States but I visit Europe...

Very nice hotel in a center of city. Friendly service. Nice restaurants and grocery in same building, not to mention alcohol store around the corner. Not the newest hotel but quite well kept. No complaints. Worked for my holiday needs perfectly.

The staff , Heidi and Saverin, were outstanding. My reservation has not come through, and they worked tirelessly to make sure that it was retrieved and that I had a room on time My entire experience was excellent

Very nice hotel The hotel and room were very nice. Breakfast was great. The only issue was paying for parking because the free lot was full.

Bed needs replacing. Friendly staff but the bed was narrow and sunken in the middle leading to a bad night's sleep. One of the older Scandics.

Location good. The hotel is neat but has seen its best days helplessly and would require a thorough renovation. Breakfast is ok, basic. The rooms are clean but not comfortable.

Expect the central heating is not turned on, everything is great.

Had wonderful Karelia Pastry for breakfast on our last day. :) Will be great if there are more varieties for breakfast. Overall we had wonderful 2 weeks stay here.

People and pet friendly, close walk to Joensuu tori (open market), restaurants, shopping mall, businesses, arts, river walk/park. Indoor, secure, warm car parking are, and quality breakfast buffet. Economical, excellent quality, and services.

The room is simple and comfortable, the environment is clean, it is located in the city center, the surrounding is quite lively, there is a supermarket which is very convenient, the scenery outside the window is also very good, and the check-out was delayed.

The hotel service is very good, there are several bicycles that can be used for free, there is free coffee and tea in the lobby after ten in the morning, and pets are allowed.

A good basic hotel, nothing to miss, but it didn't offer anything amazing either. Breakfast good, not extensive but included everything needed. Overall a 4/5 experience.

Friendly staff, beautiful place and good food, one of the best guesthouses I've stayed at in Finland :) the bike tour continued with a good mood.

Pihlajapuu Guesthouse is one of the best places to stay during my life. The old school is a charming building and the accommodation is beautiful. There is a gym in the courtyard where children can rave. The food is excellent and vegetarian food is available on request. The staff at the inn are really friendly. There are many hiking opportunities in the surrounding area, including the Raesärkki area...

We booked a week of Guesthouse to Guesthouse Cross Country Skiing with Mina. Impressed with how well organised the week was. We had a fantastic time here for 14 days. Minna, the hostess of Pihlajapuu, took us to beautiful landscapes. The cuisine is excellent, it is cooked with love and there is no risk of weight gain as there are various sports activities available every day. From canoe tours, to cycling, hiking in the most beautiful national parks, archery and badminton in our own gym to playing cycling, Minna made everything...

Such a special place wonderful and helpful staff great skiing and lovely views and the best food in Finland. Guest house to guest skiing tour stole my heart. Would recommend it to everyone who likes to ski.
