Friendly staff, Service excellent, rooms clean, but need a little modernisations.
Great place for an overnight stop on the way to the Alps. Rooms are clean but a bit tired, the food is great and so is the welcome.
This hotel is screaming for a make-over.... very drepressing to see. Although the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was not clean. Breakfast oké but simple.

Good food, nice service, good recommendation for a nice local bottle of wine. Super comfortable bed. Very very quiet, despite the fact that hotel is next to v busy road (triple-glazing).
Yes it is a beautiful hotel & stayed for 2 nights. Sadly the lighting isn't very bright in our room at night, although maybe most people liked that. Also, on our first day, we had noticed spiders (not many), when my granddaughter was going to have a bath. We mentioned it to the Receptionist & immediately given us another room, a lot better. The flooring in both bedrooms had slight stains but had been...
It stays a very good hotel (we come here for severals years, for stays of one night on our way to Spain) with an outstanding restaurant . Only a shame that this time the airco in the room did not function. We had to sleep with open window...and next to the train and a very busy road this was not optimal...
The staff were wonderful and so helpful, but the room had so many problems. The extractor fan in the toilet would not work, the air conditioning/heating would not turn on, the WiFi kept on dropping out and finally the electrical socket was hanging out of the wall. Unfortunately nothing seemed to be able to be done to rectify situation. Hopefully the hotel can correct this situation shortly, along with...

Not bad, I spent 2 nights here. It was clean and had a good time in Lyon. Thank you.

Excellent hotel and spa. From the moment I arrived all the team I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. I really appreciated how calm and proactive they were— nothing ever felt like an inconvenience. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!
Amazing hotel with magnificent pools and spa. The staff was very friendly. One of the best hotels of Lyon.
good hotel, main pluses are the huge 50m outdoor pool and the gym/fitness facilities. Didn’t eat dinner at hotel so can’t comment on that. Breakfast was pretty average. Rooms were clean and nice but only ok. Corridors were run down and smelt bad. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
The welcome is always warm and professional. The rooms are very nice — not ultra-luxurious, but definitely comfortable and pleasant. What truly sets this hotel apart is the amazing spa with diverse facilities, and the huge outdoor pool, which is a real luxury in the center of Lyon, especially in summer when there are few alternatives in the city. One point to note: the requirement for men to wear...
I know this hotel well, staying regularly every year in their studios, which are impeccable, but I'd like to draw attention to two significant flaws: 1/ Weak Wi-Fi: Their Wi-Fi has been poor for years, and nothing has been done to improve it. 2/ The restaurant is closed on Sundays: an absurdity in a 4-star hotel!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Birthday Stay! My wife, my cat, and I stayed at Hôtel Lyon Métropole for my birthday and loved it. The hotel decorated our room beautifully, and it looked even better than the photos online. Staff were very friendly and helped us park when the garage was full. The sauna and pool area was super clean and relaxing. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in Lyon!

Quite a lackluster/unimpressive hotel. I booked a suite and upon check in the hotel told me the suite isn’t available - shows general carelessness in service. The balcony door in my room wasn’t able to be fully closed and locked and anyone could theoretically access that balcony. The temperature of the room could not be adjusted - there was just one universal temperature and if you didn’t like it you...
Very beautiful hotel, located in the congress area of Lyon, facing Rhône river..there is a cinema, minimalists and cafés near the hotel.. We stayed at this hotel five nights September 9 through 14th. The room was very quiet as it faced the park, the cathedral was visible from the room, the only downside was that the balcony door was permanently locked. The service at the front desk was excellent, restaurant Zucca was outstanding both for breakfast and dinner. The location was very good for accessing the old town, the buss stop is fifty...
My family only stayed here one night, on a Sunday. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were super comfy. The location wasn’t near the old town, but was walking distance to a few great restaurants. What really put our experience over the top, though, was the concierge, Daniel. Our daughter left her stuffy in the bedsheets in the room and we didn’t realize it until we were 6 hours away and...

Good hotel. Spacious and clean rooms with good shower and bathroom. Gym was ok, but bar seemed closed for much of trip and surrounding area lacked an equivalent once back from the city (which was only 15 mins by bus away so was not a big issue).

I didn't even have to show my passport, as soon as I walked into reception the staff recognized me from previous visits and checked me in straight away with a smile. It's a good feeling when that happens. A bountiful breakfast spread as always.
Well located hotel/restaurant and a very decent breakfast
hotel with a simple polite and smiling welcome, very comfortable, impeccable bedding and very quiet atmosphere, with secure indoor and guarded parking which is very practical with a car loaded with luggage (12€ per night) Only downside, 2 types of small lunches offered, one simple at 9€, the other with savory dishes at 17€, but only one common buffet to serve yourself, so it's confusing, it would be...

The old hotel suprised me a lot in a good way. Rooms are comfortable and definitely worthy of its price! I stayed in a one person room where everything was comfortable and clean.
The road to the hotel was quite demanding, with steep, narrow slopes and a street full of parked cars. After finally arriving at the hotel, the free parking was full, and street parking outside cost nearly 60 euros per night. It's an old building, and the rooms are quite ordinary, unlike the pictures in the hotel brochure. The amenities were basic: no air conditioning, just an old-fashioned table...
It was difficult to check in with luggage, but it was safe during my stay and I could walk around. The location was good.
The hotel is next to the subway, just up a hill from the subway entrance. It's a bit inconvenient to climb uphill with a big suitcase, but you can see a good view in front of the hotel. The hotel is very close to the White Apple Plaza, and you can see interesting graffiti on the way there. The single room I booked also has a small kitchen with cooking tools, but I didn't use it. There are several types...
The front desk is very polite, and the engineer on duty is also very good. Unfortunately, the elevator is broken. It is very convenient to walk to the art gallery and the city hall. Although the room facilities are simple, there is a refrigerator, dishwasher and hot water kettle. There are parking spaces in the yard, and you can park for free. A convenient place to stop when visiting the first district...
The rooms are huge at this hotel. The "basic" room is a studio with a loft. You can do a somersault in the bathroom. You can cartwheel in the studio. Space is definitely not an issue. However, when traveling with children, a few things need to be keenly aware. If you take public transportation (bus and metro), you will need to walk up a pretty steep hill. So for the physically challenged, this...

The Hotel is in a convenient location just across the river from Old Town. Many restaurants, historic sites, cafes bars. I especially want to recognize Pierre, at the front desk, for all his advice and directions. He is a true ambassador for Lyon and for the Saint Vincent.
Fascinating hotel where you see the different centuries of architecture that have been preserved and yet our room was very up to date with a comfortable bed, a modern bathroom and the charm of a beamed ceiling. The staff was helpful and the location is ideal for walking to Vieux Lyon and many other charming areas of Lyon. Nice breakfast available.
This hotel has fabulous ambience and does not have the feel of a bland and conventional hotel. Beautiful stone walls ands large airy rooms. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms are very clean and roomy. Easy to get around from here and see the sights. Lots of bars and bistros nearby.
Thanks to the location, really friendly staff and quaint architecture, this three star hotel exceeded our expectations. Fortunately we are able to carry our bags but the lack of an elevator could pose a problem for some travelers. We found the room a bit warm and were unable to lower the thermostat but overall good value for the price.
This lovely small hotel is just round the corner from the Saone and the Passarelle Saint-Vincent in a quiet side street. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the rooms contemporary and comfortable within a lovely old building with wooden beams and stone walls. Very cool on a hot day!

Located in Vieux Lyon, it is very convenient to go anywhere on foot. This is the hotel I stay in every time I go to Lyon on business. There is a front desk who speaks Chinese, which makes communication very convenient.
The hotel is in a very good location, located in the heart of the old town of Lyon. The streets of the old town are very retro and medieval. Nice and comfortable - lovely and friendly service from the receptionists. The sheets were not extremely soft but the towels were lovely: the yardstick to judge a hotel by, in my opinion. Really good central location too, surrounded by the old town and lots of pubs, bars, restaurants.
It was great stay, location clean but no refrigerator in the room. Even though the area is busy, the room was quiet. Simple room and good service as well.
Our room had a shower over the bath which you couldn’t get under rendering it useless as a shower. Also there was no ‘rubber’ strip under the shower screen so the floor got soaked. The garage was unavailable so had to park in road. It was ok and saved €50!
Good hotel in a great location with strong hipster vibes. The rooms are bright and functional and quiet. Very comfortable beds. Would stay here again!
The check in very easy and the hotel has great bag hood service. The rooms are fine in an old school house sorta style (if that’s your thing?). They also have free water sparkling and still which is nice
Rooms are a little too small, but the location and service are great. I especially liked the water dispenser offering chilled, filtered water and sparkling water. Arriving by bike, I appreciated the secure cycle storage.

This is a very solid 3 star hotel located in quiet residential area. Easy access by Metro and bus. I visited for a conference at in2p3 and this hotel was in walking distance from the venue. Would recommend to a friend and will definitely book again if occasion presents itself.
It was challenging to reach the hotel from the airport. I had to take four different modes of transportation. The hotel should give proper instructions for those travelling for the first time. However, returning to the airport was easy because I took a taxi from the hotel.
Really good hotel, comfortable, friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Kindly allowed us to leave our luggage for the day. Good public transport connections. The only small downside is that finding the entrance was tricky at first; some streets nearby are deadends. Not the hotel's fault of course.
Very comfortable hotel, clean and well-kept in every aspect. I return for the third year to this wonderful hotel.
The hotel is in a good position, it has a parking (to be paid separately). The rooms area clean and spacious but a renovation would be necessary, many parts are ruined and worn out. In my room the lights were not working properly, and there are no power outlets close to the bed. Breakfast is very good.

This is a perfectly situated small hotel right in the old part of Lyon, steps away from all the shops and restaurants, and a short bridge walk away from the city. Hotel Academie as the name suggests was indeed an academy in the 14th century. The hotel has been remodeled Beautifully to keep the spiral staircase and the landings with a few steps to each room. We had a great stay. Great location. Rooms were decent enough — only I would agree with over reviews that this isn’t a four star hotel. We had limited interactions with the staff. We didn’t take breakfast. So for us, it was an easy trip with no surprises.
Wonderful service and the most comfortable of rooms. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional and helpful.
Honestly the hotel is qualitative but the room was small, there are no or very few common areas, it is tight and cramped, the breakfast is really not extraordinary, but otherwise very nice indoor pool and unbeatable location. The value for money is therefore average.
This hotel is very well located in the city center. There's an excellent grocery store directly across the street which was helpful for buying water, wine, and some snacks to keep in our room. Wonderful hotel in the heart of Lyon! No slippers and a robe in the room. Strange light regulation.
This was a great hotel to stay in for our quick trip to Lyon. It is a great location that is walkable to lots of sitesa and shopping. It is in an area with a lot of one way streets and pedestrian only roads so it was very difficult for the Uber to get to the hotel. If possible easy drop of point was only 2 blocks away. A good choice for business trip in Lyon. If you are not at the University of Lyon, there is no need to come here. Traffic is not good, environment is average, breakfast is OK in time for the European Cup. Other than that, I probably won't come again Ibis is Europe for seven days
The hotel is quite nice and well managed. The staff is attentive and professional. It is a short walk from public transportation and also the amazing public park Tête D’Or. I stayed 3 nights. My room was bright and clean, and being at the back of the hotel it was very peaceful. Well located just a short bus or cab ride from Lyon Part Dieu (?) station. The old city area was about 30 minutes walk away, but lots of good places to eat and drink in the local area. Fully recommend.
Best place ever to chill in Lyon city!!!
