Well it is close to trains and rental cars. It is loud due to train and bus station. No Ac no elevator. Toiletries smell like cheap men's cologne. Carpet dirty. Bathroom needs help. Allowed me to check in early - check in is at 5pm!.

Have already stopped twice at this restaurant. Everything is beyond expectations. Excellent friendly service and good food.

I don't know that the bar, calm and quiet just in front of the station. This is where I wait for the departure of my train. The service is discreet and efficient. A good address. And who knows one day perhaps the hotel ?

To have tested just the restore, everything was impeccable. Place clean, not too noisy, friendly. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Report quality/price very good. I will return without hesitation to my next pass on Caen.

A very adequate hotel for the price paid. Everything you need for an overnight stay. A good breakfast is an option in the cafe attached.

I really wanted to give this place five stars. The staff was more than accommodating, the food well made and delicious in the attached bar, and the place is clean and a perfect distance from the station. So why only a 2 star rating?
This is a key problem for me. The rooms have no air conditioning. Not even a fan is provided. If you don't like whatever temperature the room is at, there's no way to adjust it, except to turn up the temp because there is a radiator in the room. The best I could do is open the windows. Except I can't open them without opening the curtains. And there is no screen, so there is nothing preventing anything from entering the room. The windows are also full height, so there is no natural way of blocking a view of the two story room from anybody on the street.
Combine this lack of air flow or temperature control with the fact that the room is the size of a shoebox. That itself is not the problem, but a small room can feel awful stuffy if you just came back after a full hot day of seeing the sights, drenched with sweat and in a room without so much as a draft.
So yes, I am really torn about giving this rating, but I almost can't bear to stay in this room. If the airflow issue is not a problem for you and you have no issues making sure you check in by 22:00 (Or call to check with them) then by all means do not hesitate to take advantage of the hotel's location and its great value.
