Skion Palace Beach Hotel-Bungalows & Boutique Hotel in Nea Skioni

Our experience was very disappointing. The room was not ready, and the staff member we dealt with was rude from the start. First he couldn’t find our booking, then changed his story about the room being occupied and later claimed checkout was at 11am.

When I asked what he had discussed on the phone with management, he became disrespectful and even threatening. His remark — “Do you want me to get the people out of the room so you get in?”. He was insulting and completely unprofessional.

He avoided speaking to us directly, kept his distance, used dismissive gestures, and treated us with arrogance.

5 nights family vacation gone bad because we stayed at this dump. Unfortunately for us we paid ($1,000) with points through our credit card and we couldn’t get a refund. After looking to find the “reception desk” for 10 mins by asking around other residents, we checked in (only a kiosk withe a desk) Oh and there’s an extra hotel fee of 50 euros for taxes and fees I had already paid online. Be aware the rooms are not like the pictures. Basically a hotel or should I say motel from the 80s that have not been upgraded since.The supposed double beds you see are two single beds pushed together with a dirty topper that is way smaller than the beds together. We made them change the sheets on the beds because they were yellow and had stains and also throw away that topper. And the mattresses were so uncomfortable to sleep on. The tv not working. Gum stuck on the cabinets. Dirty and ripped curtains. The fringe had so much ice that it didn’t even cool our food. The balcony shade didn’t come down unless you grabbed them and pulled in combination with the string inside. Outdoor chairs broken. Light bulbs missing. The toilet seat was broken, salt residue everywhere in the wc, towel hangers broken, lots of rust and no soap or shampoo. The ac did work but if you leave it on for too long it drips water on the floor inside your room. Not a great beach. It’s so rocky you need shoes to get in. I didn’t even dare to try the pool thinking if the rooms and outdoor stair, doors etc were so dirty, the pool could not be any different. The lack of light on the stairs really make it hard to not fall. I confronted the lady/ owner about it, to change us to a better room, and she never did. Instead she send out someone to fix the tv, toilet seat and balcony shades. She didn’t even bother to. I’m guessing there’s no other room that is in better condition. Very very dissatisfied with everything.

Really awful, everything is old, I was shocked by what I found, miserable breakfast and so on, I don’t know how it can have 4 stars, it would deserve 1 star.

Every day the same breakfast, they didn't clean the room it once in the whole week. The food for dinner was not suitable for children. This should not be allowed for a hotel that someone gave 4 stars. There was internet only by the pool and the restaurant. Not in the rooms. The beach has big rocks, but the water is perfect. The young guys are kind and helpful, as well as the landlady. Needs more engagement.

The staff is very friendly and cheerful.
The rooms might be mediocre for those looking for hygiene, but they're still okay.
Unfortunately, the breakfast and dinner portions are very poor.
Hygiene is completely non-existent and the variety is very limited.
It's also interesting that people eat with such gusto.
As a family, we didn't enjoy the food portion.
While everything is olive groves, there are no olives at breakfast, or perhaps olives aren't even part of their breakfast culture.
There's a pool, and the location is convenient and close to the bays.
In short, the hotel is average, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food and breakfast are really poor.

It was a mediocre and unclean hotel that had nothing to do with the photos, we were not satisfied, the breakfast was inadequate and there was no such thing as hygiene.

I was greeted with "I remember you" and it was not in a positive way because I had some problems with my credit card and the hotel wanted to cancel my reservation. So I think they tricked me and didn't offer me the room I paid for. I paid for an unobstructed view of the sea and you can see in the pictures below what I received.
I am extremely disappointed with this treatment because the location was very important in my choice of this hotel.

To be fair, I will also list the positives: the room and balcony are generous. The bed is at the limit of comfort. The bedding was changed once every 2-3 days. The evening meal at the hotel bar/restaurant was good, the service was also good. The air conditioning was fine. Yes, there is access to the private sea with a deckchair + umbrella, but the beach is full of stones and it is very painful to walk with bare feet. Yes, there was a pool but we didn't use it.

Negatives: obviously the sea view. The shower tub was chipped, the water in the shower had no pressure. In one weekend, 3 evenings in a row, we didn't have hot water (the hotel was full and the water was heated by the sun). I didn't need it because I had it at home, but the soap offered by the hotel leaves something to be desired. There were only 2 outlets in the room, only 1 was working. The furniture is old, when I placed a blouse on a shelf in the dresser it broke.

In conclusion, this hotel did not deserve 4* and customers should not be lied to in this regard. Greece is a beautiful country, but it's a shame that they allow such a hotel to operate.

We arrived at this hotel after staying and canceling the rest of the time we had booked due to dissatisfaction at another hotel in the area. But it seems that the same tactic is followed throughout the region. The hotel (bungalow) is very old, neglected and without maintenance for many years. The photos on the site do not correspond to reality since e.g. the wooden tables on pebbles are completely neglected, without any maintenance for years and of course no one sits on them. The amenities are non-existent and are limited to a dispenser (shampoo & conditioner in the bathtub) and a soap that hardly produces foam. The pool bar is reminiscent of a camping and not a 4* hotel, as is the reception which is outside under an awning like in some camping. The hotel under no circumstances meets the 4* conditions announced on the site and on holiday accommodation search platforms. The Balkan service employee did not speak Greek!!!! Its price that announced to us is outrageously expensive because "everyone sells the same in the area" as the foreign employee at the reception told us! The cleanliness is average (only the absolutely necessary). The breakfast is satisfactory but by no means rich like a 4* facility. Anything more than €60-70 (bed & breakfast) is not worth this facility. The internet simply not existed. For these reasons, our stay was limited to one night (could be no night but was difficult to find another settlement) out of the planned 5 in total.

Non of us touched the buffet everything looked old and disgusting 🤢 🤮 we had to eat breakfast out.

The pool had very intense smell of bleach, and had a very strange blurry color.
My orange swimming suit changed color to yellow.

On our check out, we refused to pay for the awful breakfast, they became rude and insulting, and they didn’t gave any receipts 🧾
Stay away if you don’t want your vacation to be ruined like ours….
