Hotel Phőnix in Tiszaujvaros

Horrible place, never pick it even for one night stand. No hot water, air conditioner not working (if was 19, furniture and plumbing out of 80s. Better to sleep in a bus/car, than here. I couldn't manage to sleep here even after a 20-hour drive.

It was a horrible experience. For like 35 eur for a room (3-4 pers) all you get is misery. They didn't mention only the executive rooms are "3 stars". And about cleaning in the rooms... Let's not continue talking...

Must say that the building is a real relic from "communism years" from in- and outside and must be renovated. Now I would even say that this is dormitory, not a hotel and with barely 2 stars.
The carpets in the hall on the floor were old and stained by bleach, old furniture from the 90s windows with paint spots, old curtains and dying plants. My room little bit better, at least with freezer, new window and warm, but damaged cabinet without hangers and worn again, no cover blankets on the bed, so I cover it by my towel, as there wasn`t other option to seat, as only chair for double room was used as a table for laptoz. Huge old TV from 90s on the table, so I put a laptop on the chair. I do not know the last time when room was cleaned, but a pile of dust was on the bedside lamps, on a towel dryer, radiator and under the bed were visible balls of twisted spiderweb and dust.
The bath had a persistent odor of bleach, but without air extractor.
After waking up I was hoping for a delicious breakfast, however it consisted of a poor quality continental buffet bread, jam, hot dogs and there were no even eggs and I come in the opening time!

But there was one thing which I`m very liked - panoramic view from my window.

Wow. I’ve been to many hotels in my lifetime and I was left bitter by the impression Hotel Phoenix left. The breakfast was below par, hot yoghurt and unsatisfying coffee. The beds were suitable for a small person. Poor WiFi. No Aircon during this hot European summer. Positives included good vibes, friendly staff and great location. My friends and I had a great time in Tiszaujvaros despite the disappointment of my stay.

The rooms are small and outdated, carpets need replacing and the mattresses look filthy. Think dirty dorm room. But the staff is friendly and it's close to all the shops and restaurants.

Awful rooms. Smelly beds. The walls are falling. Can't open the Windows because the sill is painted. Huge mildew spots on the carpet. The bathtub is a murder scene, I'm sure some one was killed there. Please help
