The hotel staff were very helpful and the area with the hot tubs was lovely. Our rooms were fine and all in all it was a great place to stay. It was nice to have breakfast included in the stay. We had a very nice stay here and would come again.
Nice hotel with good breakfast and central location (which is easy on such a small island 😄) The customer centricity of the staff has room for improvement but maybe it's a cultural thing and I expected something untypical (as we had to leave before breakfast on the second day to get the first ferry we asked if we could get some sandwiches or similar instead and got a rather simple "no" as answer.)
Great hotel, faultless. Rooms were clean, very comfortable. Breakfast was brilliant. I was only here 1 night but was a great overnight stay. And good value for money.
Great location, rooms are typical for Iceland, small but functional. Staff were friendly. Spa is a very loose term. One hot tub functional, the other with no water at all. Sauna out of order.
What a lovely hotel. The location can not be more perfect for a visit to the Westman Islands. The hotel staff speak multiple languages including English. The will go out of their way to accommodate your requests.
I spotted the 3* on the way in but after our stay I would suggest its more 4*. The staff were warm and helpful. The hot tub and sauna were a godsend to my aching back. The view across town to the volcano was outstanding.

Good location, self check-in, walking distance from everything in town. We reserved two nights, stayed one. Only need a day to visit most of the island. We rented bikes and hiked... was worth it - rent a bike!
We took the ferry from Iceland and wanted to stay another night because the island is breathtaking. Unfortunately all the hotels were booked and we were literally about to sleep on the grass 😂 because we didn’t have a place to stay at. We called this hotel and the owner literally woke up at midnight to fit us all (4 of us) into a room she had left. The beds were single beds but she accommodated us...
Very kindly accommodated me at the last minute when the ferry was canceled! Good breakfast included.
Location was great. The hotel is right by the harbour, just 5' walk from the ferry. Our room was a bit dated, which I normally wouldn't mind if it weren't for the price I paid.

Met the owner... Great guy. The place has local character but is then pleasantly upgraded while offering great value.

I came with friends on a one day trip, but we got stranded because of the weather. So I found this guesthouse on Booking and it was fine. Nice cleen room and private bathroom. I was wery happy with it. And good location. Wery central.
Good location, decorated with historical pictures of the island which was a nice touch as a tourist. Comfortable and shower had good water pressure
Clean, spacious rooms and comfortable mattress. Bedding and pillows were a bit small. There was no staff in the evening to check us in or ask questions. Our keys were just sitting there when we arrived and we took ourselves up to our rooms. The location is great, within walking distance of many places. The breakfast in the morning was really really nice. We would definitely stay there again.
Downtown. Breakfast included. No elevator. Larger bedroom. Medium bathroom. Used room keys that can be set out if the arrive late.
Beautiful decor and very clean but turned up to a room booked for 3 with only two beds made. Quickly rectified however. Additionally asked for a ground floor room due to decreased mobility, and ended up on the third floor with no lift. With no way of changing this as the hotel was fully booked.
Great spot right near the ferry and most of the action. The room was big and had everything we needed.

Everything was just perfect. Faboulous place and very kind people.
Best experience! Amazing place with nice and warm people. We went horseback riding in the stunning landscapes and ate great meals in the restaurant. Will warmly recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland.
We arrived by chance last minute as we fled our previous hotel (UMI). Skalakot was a true haven. We were so surprised by the amazing food, which was all local, and homemade (amazing bread selection at night, fresh eggs in the morning and pancakes on demand). So cosy, beautiful bedroom and bathroom with an amazing huge bath, with a beautiful view on both sides. Looks like a chalet, so authentic and...
Fantastic experience. Great food and service. Looked very well kept
We had our wedding here and rented out the hotel for the weekend. The rooms were clean and sophisticated, the food was some of the best I've ever had, but most importantly the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful with every little detail. Special thanks to Lorraine (spelling?) who went above and beyond to make sure everyone had an unforgettable experience.
Skalakot was our favorite stay on our two week trip around Iceland. The attention to detail is just amazing, the rooms are beautiful, the hospitality is wonderful. Everyone on staff was so attentive and obviously very good at what they do. And the food, the food was amazing, we had a few meals and everything was just phenomenal. The entire atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the horseback riding...

We stayed for two days. The environment was very quiet, the room was clean, and there was a kitchen where we could make our own breakfast. Everything else was good, except that the garbage bags were not cleaned out in time. When we came back on the first night, there was no place to throw away the garbage.
Amazing place to stay, this place was perfect! we paid extra for breakfast but it was well worth it It is perfect when you are traveling the south coast and apparently it would be amazing during ther northern lights season
Cute Cabin - wish breakfast was included for cabin guests.
Cottages are simple but confortable and conveniently located. Quiet area. Friendly and helpful staff.
Thank you for the great service and relocation to a cabin on Christmas day in the big winter storm. Dinner at the restaurant was one of the best dinners we've ever had.
This was a great place to stay for our last night in Iceland! We missed the 9 pm time to check in so they left the key for us to pickup with ease!

Nice, quite and really clean accommodation. We stayed one night and enjoyed. One thing about the area is a little away from restaurants be prepared :)
This was so lovely and cozy. We enjoyed staying here so much!
The guesthouse was great! It was such a nice and unique experience from other places I have stayed. There are a lot of horses on the property we were able to see. Good space on the second floor for guests to hang out. We had a room on the second floor with a bathroom included but others shared a bathroom. It looked like there were 2 or 3 shared bathrooms for 4 rooms.
Stayed in one of the cottages, very modern and spacious with awesome view of the horses around. Owner was very friendly too.
Really loved our stay here, rooms are small but very cozy and clean. Shared bathrooms are nice, and the common lounge area is beautiful. The owners/managers are extremely welcoming, also very fun to be able to walk through the stables and meet the horses.

Facilities in our accommodation were of great quality: we particularly appreciated the comfort of the bed as well as the shower room. The staff were very enthusiastic; while we were having dinner at UMI restaurant, the northern lights were visible in the sky and they let us know, keeping our dinner warm while we went outside to view the lights. The dinner was excellent and our breakfast options were...
We really enjoyed our stay at Umi Hotel and would highly recommend it. The private black sand beach was incredible. We had it all to ourselves in the morning and it was one of our favorite highlights from our one week trip. Definitely take the 10-15 minute walk from the hotel over to it! Our room at the hotel was very nice and clean. The shower was O-M-G perfect after a long day of hiking and sightseeing...
This could be the most expensive hotel in our Iceland trip. Anyway it's great as expect. The hotel is great, we like the decoration and the room. Breakfast is good too. Staff can wake us up if there is a northlight available, good service. Furthermore, you can enjoy taking a photo around the hotel, very good landscape view.
I had my wedding here Oct. 13th of this year. To be honest, I planned my entire wedding around this hotel. I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it for the first time, and then happened to fall in love with Kvernufoss down the road. They were so amazing to us. My family and I can get rowdy and loud, and it wasn’t a problem at all. The staff was so incredibly nice and friendly, and the rooms...
Just loved this place! Beautifully located and with really nice restaurant. Don’t miss taking the short walk down to the black lava sand beach. We walked down in the morning and caught the sunrise, all by ourselves - a truly unique experience!
Overall, our stay at Umi was just ok. Here are some pros and cons: Positives: 1. Good location, close to a lot of great stuff. 2. The modern design aesthetic is cool. 3. Everything was very clean. 4. Solid breakfast. 5. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the food here was better than any of the other hotel restaurants we went to during our trip. 6. One of the staff members we interacted with was...

Excellent. It is easy to check in. Everywhere is clean and new. So comfortable. We had a great stay. Thank you.
Lovely place for a couple and a nice view. Even better view if you get a cottage in the first of the two rows. Has got a kitchen, tv, table, clean toilet, shower and a big bed. Parking is also possible. Water in the heater makes noises while heating up the room. Shower is moderate warm. Kitchen has no basic ingedrients like oil. Other apartments with a kitchen offer this and cost less.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. Having a stocked kitchenette was great and saved us a lot of money by not having to eat out. The setting was also beautiful. Minus a star because the bathroom drainage wasn't very good so the floor was constantly wet, we weren't provided with hand towels, and we stayed for 3 nights but our trash was never emptied so it was stuffed by the time we checked out
Hotel is perfectly located in a quite area. Spectacular views of the mountains and nearby ocean. The large windows are perfect for seeing the sun rise and set everyday. The house included a TV, full kitchen set with pots and cutlery, heated floors in bathroom, and was very warm and cosy. It is also located near a very unique heated swimming pool in the mountains if you are adventurous. I would highly...

Guesthouse Ediborg This guesthouse was a wonderful place to stay not far from Vik. The beds were comfortable and the shared amenities were nice. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It didn't seem to be completely cleaned between people's visits...
The property reeks and hot water runs out quick . Outside view is breathtaking and attractions are very accessible.
Cute area snuggled in a valley. Northern lights danced behind the mountain. Check in was very easy. Room was simple and efficient. Unfortunately a strong sewer smell was the first thing you notice as you walk in. If you kept the bathroom door closed in the bedroom the smell lightened almost unnoticable.
Great place to stop, I mucked up my reservation with booking and they sorted it out for me to stay in one their lodges for the same price. Greatly appreciated 👍
Good, clean, simple rooms. Easily accessed via the phone on site. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't it. It's functional and comfortable.

Beautiful location, great breakfast… but.. Beautiful location and a cozy lodge-like atmosphere. Breakfast was amazing! However , it appears that the rooms are new- the tv in the room didn’t work (not hooked up to the router?), the shower water temperature fluctuated between very hot and very cold - only the handheld shower head worked. The location does not have on-site management, which was a surprise...
The structure is nice, simple furnishings, basic breakfast
I have to say that the building and its location are just beautiful! Our room had very low ceilings and getting to the bed I had to bend over and cracked my head a couple times! But I'm sure that's not the case in every room. The only other thing was that the breakfast was nice, but the eating space was very tight for the number of people.
This place is fine. It's not a good value- small rooms, no amenities, not much nearby, no toiletries aside from a shampoo/body wash bottle. The location is beautiful, surrounded by scenery. We were nervous about check-in but emailed the host in advance and received the info needed. Housekeeping walked in on us a day before check out, they need to do a better job of keeping track of guests coming and...
The setting in the mountains was beautiful. While the room was adorable, quite unique, the beam in the ceiling of the room was quite low. I hit my head on it a few times!
The building is unique and very comfortable, the location was a bit hard to find in the dark but easy to get to and the roads were in good shape. The service was substandard, especially the breakfast room and staff. Breakfast was from 8am to 10am but they closed down and did not replenish the breakfast after 9am so if you are late then you are out of luck. The hot tub was luke warm and the bathroom...

Great Stay Very clean, staff wonderful, great breakfast, very comfortable linen.
Absolutely exceeded our expectations! Away from the roads, surrounded by open fields and horses, you get stunning views right outside your room door. The food was phenomenal. We didn’t eat anywhere else because we enjoyed it so much. The staff was kind and so welcoming. I want to go back to Iceland just to stay here again.
This place was such a gem! Loved it! We loved getting drinks and going in the hot tub! The walls in the room are in so just beware, hopefully you don’t have neighbors like us who are up all night talking loudly, but either way it was still a great stay
My husband and I loved this place. We would definitely go back. Very cozy and cute. Good food, nice area off the beaten path. Hot tub was very nice. For us, it was perfect.
This place was such a vibe. The rooms are simple yet comfortable, the lounge/common area was warm and inviting, and the breakfast really was as good as the other reviews mentioned. We would definitely stay again!

We arrived late and were still able to pick up room keys with no bother. Nice to speak to someone and get advice about local area in the morning. Breakfast was great, home made bread was delicious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel vos. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms and beds were nice and comfortable, and the facilities were enjoyable.
This is a small hotel, but It is overflowing with coziness and the staff are extremly helpfull. The room was clean and comfy, the beds was comfortable and soft. The other guest were nice and helpfull. Overall really nice place, we would visit it again.
Very beautiful, cute, little hotel. So clean and cozy. Food is great. Rarely met such courteous people. Breakfast super delicious. Especially the homemade bread with sun-dried tomatoes. So delicious! You can also make your own waffles. In general, a very big recommendation!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is private, the dinner was mostly great, and the staff is amazing! We didn't get to try breakfast as we had to leave each morning before it was served. Our room had everything we needed. The added bonuses were the outdoor hot tub and seeing the sheep run through the property.
Remotely located from main atractions. The hotel is located inside an active farm with crop fields, tractors abd everything. Simple, clean, quiet. Restaurant on place serving nice dishes. Booking in advance is recommended.
