Reviews
They say they have on-site parking but they do not. You have to park on the street. Some of the street parking is short term, so pay attention to the signs.
We called the number listed for this hotel to fund out where we should park and was told we could use the parking lot across the street, which was for a store. The store was already closed so we parked there. We left fairly early in the morning, before the store opened again.
Check your email the day of your check in for the front door code as well as the code to your room. There isn't anyone on site to let you into the building. The front door code took a minute to work and we didn't have any issues after that.
There is no lift, just any FYI for anyone with mobility issues.
The room was clean & cozy. The was hand soap in the bathroom but no shampoo or body wash. We brought our own but just a heads up to anyone staying here.
Only bad experience was the terrible vanilla scent in the hallway and a clogged drain in the sink in the bathroom.
Great view if the windows were cleaned.
Overall, our stay was good. Wifi worked very well and the kettle in the room was very handy to have. The shower worked well too and the water was warm. And the Inn itself was very quiet which was nice.
However, the biggest issue we had was that the heating in our room was not working whatsoever (during Icelandic winter)! My friends and I were quite chilly in the room and had to sleep with sweaters on. That being said, the comforters on the beds were decently warm and definitely helped; but without them, we would’ve been very very cold in the room… Additionally there were no staff members present in the Inn at any point during our stay so we weren’t able to ask staff for extra toilet paper/towels or ask them for assistance with getting the heater to work. In all honestly, it was a tad inconvenient to not have any staff on site.
Lastly, although we didn’t expect a kitchen or cooking space per say, it was also a little inconvenient to not have a microwave in the room. So be mindful of how you plan to eat/cook when booking rooms here. We ended up having to use a single burner camping stove outside to cook pasta and had no way or re-heating it…
Overall we were pretty satisfied with our room and our time on the island, however some things, like the heating issues and lack of staff on site, left us a bit displeased.
