KEX Thingeyri in Thingeyri

I think I have some mixed feelings about the place even though it actually was a decent place to stay for the night. The room was comfortable, the heating system as in any other location in Iceland was very quick to warm the place up. There was an old radio in the room😄 buuuuut i think i'd rather have a kettle, which we didn't have even in the common area. That's where it gets complicated because when we asked the reception, they lent us their one and only kettle and it served us well enough. In the morning it was already back in use for the breakfast buffet. But I think having a kettle in the room is an essential, it felt empty without it.
The common area on the first floor was a bit chilly but comfortable. The bathroom was shared with another room, but it was very clean. Maybe just a bit too cold for my taste.
The breakfast was included, and it wasn't bad, but I had read some reviews that said they had fish and several jams as well. Unfortunately we haven't seen any of that, but I guess it's a seasonal thing and we are kind of late for everything😅 so maybe next time.

I stayed there in July very nice staff and a good dinner buffet with some local food. The room was though like medium but clean :).

Unfortunately we could not reach the hotel due to bad wheather and road conditions.
But the managing of our reservation was super professionell and the contact was very friendly.
We hope we can come back soon!

I loved staying there and the staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean, and the view from the rooms were amazing.Breakfast was so delicious with fresh baked bread, fresh fruit, smoked salmon and fresh preserves. The staff is welcoming, warm and very helpful. I would definately go back and stay there on my visit back to Iceland.
