Chalston Beach Resort in Calangute

Stayed for 5 nights, in the new pool rooms. First impression was excellent! However…..be aware that your little bit of paradise with a pool outside your window can be changed quickly (and early morning) by guests, especially kids crying or screaming in the pool (they are allowed, everyone’s on holiday!)…. The system of handing your key to reception if you would care for room keeping was FABULOUS (no housekeeping knocking on your door disturbing you …but don’t worry you’ll be awake any way from kids crying/screaming in the pool 😂😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️…..) still loved the concept of house keeping not disturbing 👏. The only downside of handing in your key for house keeping is that it’s not returned to reception by house keeping (I’m guessing they keep hold & you have to wait at your room for them, in the hope of them receiving a tip?……we did tip - but not on return if the key …their cunning plan didn’t work 😂. The pool room was beautifully furnished. The whole hotel was soooo clean and new, from the areas we went in. As Brits we were in the minority. We would return - got used to the pool noise 😂…. There’s two pools and perhaps if the vibe of selling the new pool rooms at top end, perhaps allocating the new pool as adults only maybe an idea (although I appreciate not all adults have acceptable behaviour…..at least they misbehave/scream louder in the day?) Very nicê hotel - in general

Nice and big clean rooms, superb location with private beach. Reasonable breakfast options. We stayed there for 3 nights with kids, swimming pool located in middle of the cottages looks classy.

A great hotel, perhaps the best in Goa and certainly the best in Calangute. The location is superb, right on the beach, with loungers under palm trees, reminiscent of hotels in the Caribbean or Thailand. It's hard to find another hotel in Goa of this standard. The hotel grounds are abundant with greenery, so you practically don't feel the heat, and you can spot plenty of birds and squirrels. The rooms are clean, cleaned daily (upon request), well-appointed, with daily water, tea, toiletries, etc. The restaurant is right on the beach, so you can eat and enjoy the view. Breakfast could be more varied, as it's the same every day, and the selection is average. However, lunch and dinner are fantastic. Truly excellent Indian cuisine, everything perfectly prepared and seasoned, and served at very reasonable prices, not much higher than average street restaurants. The staff is a special treat in itself. They are excellent, helpful in every respect, and respond quickly to all requests. It's clear that the staff are thoroughly instructed and properly supervised. From talking with the staff, it was clear that most of them have been working here for many years. By the way, in the small hotel restaurant, I counted at least 16 waiters, responding immediately to every request. Importantly, there's no blaring music in the hotel, nor are there any silly entertainment programs. And one more thing – compared to other places in Goa, there aren't many visitors from countries where you pay in rubles.

Does the hotel have any flaws? Yes, but they don't detract from the overall excellent rating. Firstly, if you get a poolside room starting with number 9, ask to be upgraded to a room on the other side of the pool. Rooms starting with number 9 have direct sunlight all day, so there's no way I could sit in a chair by the entrance to the room. Secondly, some of the furnishings (especially the restaurant tables) need replacing. The worst part about the hotel is the proximity to the beachfront restaurant, where loud music can drown out the hotel restaurant's solid music in the evenings. But there's nothing you can do about your neighbor, and fortunately, according to Goa regulations, guests are required to turn off the music at 10 PM.

This was a most beautiful stay in Goa not the least because we stayed at Chalston. What a sprawling wonderful property. The service was excellent foods delicious and the pool comfortable. The thing that seals the deal is the dining area right on the beach with a stunning beach view. We experienced live evening music in the evening too. This has to be one of best places to stay in Goa. Will surely recommend and come back

Our stay was amazing, thank you Chalston Staff. You made our stay so memorable. From the food to the rooms everything clean and it is surely a home away from home. Thank you Suraj and Bikram from the sea side restaurant always so tentative to us, and we really enjoyed eating the tastey food there. Contrary to many other places to stay in Goa, this one is very to the standards of real hotel and good services, and all these at a good price. Clean, well equipped, on the main beach in Northern Goa, walking distance to entertainment and shopping, with swimming pool, restaurant, etc. Rooms with air conditioning (very important factor in this humid climate). Good choice of food for breakfast. Efficient staff.

We had an amazing 10-day stay at Chalston Hotel with breakfast included, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and the rooms were spotless, luxurious, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the private terrace – perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Room service was quick, and the food was delicious throughout our stay. One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It has two lovely pools, and the beach is literally a 30-second walk away. Baga Beach, with its lively bars and fun atmosphere, is just a 5-minute walk, and Anjuna’s famous party spots are only about 20 minutes by taxi. The entire vibe of the hotel and the area is friendly, relaxed, and perfect for both chilling and exploring. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is the third time we had a family reunion here. When the venue was decided I said oh no yet again but when I left the property I said Oh Yes , Yes again. A nice drive from Goa north airport, close to the main shopping area yet tucked inside away from the crowd and right on the beach , this family run property is well maintained and spacious with sprawling greenery and huge rooms. The family interacts with the guests all the time and the staff is smiling and efficient. A great place for a wedding venue too.

Wow , this was one of the most amazing holidays we have had. The staff at this place are so friendly & helpful & always make time to speak. We ate at the restaurant every evening as they had a fabulous menu. Our room was one of the garden cottage’s & it was beautiful. Cleanliness of our room & restaurant was exceptional. We will definitely be returning & a BIG thank you to all the staff .
