Nice onsen resort on the mountain. Guests would find the environment relaxing and awesome.
The hotel was very retro, and the entrance wasn't even an automatic lock, so I thought the view would be nice, but it was completely visible.
The inn's hot spring had few amenities and the changing room was extremely cold.
There was no air conditioning, only a fan.
It must be hot in the summer.
The room heater was so hot that I had to turn it on and off.
At first, I thought dinner was pretty sumptuous...
The Nozawa View Hotel was a great hotel to stay in Nozawa if you like Japanese style rooms. We stayed in room 309 which was described as a Superior Room. It was certainly spacious with a modern shower and separate washroom and separate toilet. The room had a heater which also acted as a drier with a very convenient hanging rack situated above the heater. The room also had coffee and tea making...
First thing to say is the service is excellent and makes up for the slightly rundown and older elements of the hotel. Our room was authentic, spacious and functional for a ski holiday. Family of 3. Breakfast was decent. The area to ski is small but had some fun. To learn its an ideal area. Tip: reserve restaurants to save the hassle of wandering. Big shout to Will at reception. Very welcoming...

Loved the hotel and onsen
Loved the food and staff
Perfect location
Authentic Japanese hotel
Everything about this hotel was perfect, except for its location being a bit far from the ski lifts. I mainly chose this hotel because it's one of the few in Nozawa Onsen with private bathrooms. The dinners were incredibly generous every night. The room temperature was just right, heated by AC but never cold. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Best hotel ever, highly recommend to all friends, especially for the families with kids, child friendly!
I feel like we got the best surprise as I was unsure what we were expecting.
The room space is cozy but just enough for a family.
The service is exceptional, the staff are friendly and helpful.
The buffet breakfast is really good and dinner was exceptional with many courses and changing everyday.
We had a great experience here. It's a long walk to the slopes, but we knew that before we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful, our Japanese style room was spacious and comfortable.
This hotel delivers everything you want from a family holiday. Although it is situated away from the centre of the village, we found this to be an advantage for our family, preferring a quiet location. Only 5 mins walk to the Chuo main terminal, where you can catch the free local shuttle bus to the ski fields. Getting to the hotel from Iiyama station was also easy via Nagaden Bus No.9 from bus stop...

Very impressed, everything was prepared in the room, and there were also things provided, very good value.
Driving is difficult, so I recommend other forms of transportation. We booked a suite, which was very spacious and perfect for a large group.
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and had a fantastic time. Great location, right in the center of town and 3 minutes from the bus station. Very clean, confortable beds, and the onsen is perfect too. The lady who run the place is super nice and full of great tips and idea for things to do. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again.
Great location, just off the main road. About 10 mins walk to travelator. We stored rental skis and boots at rental shop at top of travelator. We had a western room with 6 beds and kitchen. Can fill in a form to have groceries delivered. Kitchen worked well. Staff very helpful. Drop one star in the room due to echoing noise. Free washing machine and dryer. 2x Private onsen. Drying room and ski room
Great place to stay. Right at the center of the village. 10 minutes from gondola and 5 minutes from bus station. There's an indoor onsen 24 hours. The rooms are cozy, warm, comfortable, and clean. There is a small kitchen, a fridge, and a nespresso machine. Each room has also a TV with Apple TV! Highly recommended!
Great accommodation. Friendly staff. Kitchen in the room. The TV also had and Apple TV box that allowed me to surf the net and watch a lot of things. The hotel is 3m from the bus stop and 7mins from the slopes. Really good

This was our second stay at Kawamotoya, but the first in winter. We stayed in a 4 bedroom apartment with friends which is the largest apartment I have ever seen in Japan. Stylishly furnished with an huge lounge room and fully equiped kitchen. The rooms are very spacious with a nice Japanese feel with tatami mats and comfortable mattresses, each with their own en-suite. The staff are helpful and friendly...
Stayed in the 4 bedroom Family Suite at Kamamotoya for a few days in Green Season. The accommodation was top notch… staff were super helpful, the flat was newly renovated, exceptionally comfortable and beautifully clean, with afternoon sun and great views out over the valley. We made good use of the gym and private baths downstairs. Another highlight was Hardings Cafe in the hotel lobby downstairs...
The hotel is small with few rooms in a pleasant location in town. The rooms are well appointed with a super modern kitchen. The kitchen sink is out of this world and the cooking range won’t look out of place in a space shuttle. One of the managers, John Claude, deserves a special mention for excellent service. Thank you, John and other staff in the hotel. The hotel has its own onsen which is a nice...

Out first time as Canadians in Japan with a family of 4 (two teens). Nozawa was recommended to us by a friend who lived there for awhile. Did NOT disappoint. Exactly what we were after. Staying in a traditional ryokan was one of the best decisions we made on our holiday. We were treated like members of the family by Ko and the staff the entire time. I have traveled somewhat extensively and have never...
The ryokan owners are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and very clean. Love the cats and lovely breakfast each morning. We had a kaiseki dinner on the first night which was at a very reasonable price and every dish was so nicely presented and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the homemade umeshu. Oishi!!!
We loved this place from the minute we arrived. The staff were so friendly and it felt more like being in someone’s home than a hotel. We had a traditional room with our own bathroom. I did struggle with sleeping in the mat but I was fine once I added a couple of extra mats. The breakfast was a great mix of local cuisine and some western options. The dinner we did here was amazing. The location is...
This is a wonderful traditional well maintained Ryokan in a perfect location. You are steps away from Yu Road, which gets you to the hills in minutes. Great amenities for drying ski equipment. The breakfast is a mix of Japanese and Western with enough changes to keep it interesting. The Ryokan is well run, with a wonderful host Ko and the 10 cats that provide entertainment and companionship without...
Authentic, welcoming.Have been a regular over several years..?
Fantastic place and wonderful caring owners who love what they do. We always come back to Kiriya, 5 years in a row now. Thankyou to Akira and KO san see you next time

Ski lodge situated at the top of Nozawa Onsen village.
The lodge comprises a dry room, lobby, dining room and TV area on the first floor. All guest rooms are on the second floor.
Rooms come with breakfast and the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the gondola, into the village and pick up and drop off for check in and check out.
The rooms are spacious with luggage and hanging space. The breakfast is...
We had a great time at Altitude Nozawa. One of the chair lifts is just next door so it’s very easy to come and go to the mountain. I believe you’d have to still go to the gondola station if you were looking at buying the tickets everyday tho. Our room was spacious and had a private bathroom. No fridge or kettle. Boiling water is available in the breakfast room all day. The drying room is phenomenal...
Location is great between the courtesy bus and local shuttle buses it makes easy to get around. I personally found everyone extremely helpful as I was injured in this trip and they have really gone out of their way to assist me! Spacious common area to play a family game or have a drink together. Thank you to the team @Altitude Nozawa
Wonderful place in a perfect location very close to town. The scenery was fantastic.Rooms well heated, great lay out and lounge area - I felt so relaxed there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Night shuttle bus service and hot brekkie also a huge plus! Absolutely recommend. Thank you Altitude!
Hotel staff are mainly Australians, and the guests are also mainly Australians. We felt we were in Australia rather than in Japan! 😀 Hotel served basic western breakfast only. No Japanese food was served. Hotel Staff provided good service. However, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The desk in the room was very dusty (see photo). The toilet was also dirty, with stain in the toilet...
We had a great stay at Altitude. We had five people sharing two rooms each with three beds which is a bit squishy but apart from sleeping we didn’t spend much time in the room. There is a large communal breakfast and lounge area which doubles as a bar at night. Staff were very nice and helpful and in the absence of the free shuttle bus the town provides (this only started on 23/12 - bus stop is right...

Central apartments staff so friendly Jess was lovley could not do enough for you. Very clean great location to ski feild restaurants. Starter pack for breakfast was a nice touch eggs bread cearl .Ski hire down stairs so easy to organise your hire.
Very friendly, great breakfast. Fantastic gear room, very close to onsens and the Swiss bakery
Friendly staff. Good facilities and close walk to lifts.
Villa Nozawa was a really great place to stay for the few days we were there. Prices are cheap when considering there are ski lift packages, and rooms are a very comfortable size. There is a communal kitchen that you can use from 12 to 8pm and a communal fridge where you can keep your food. They provide breakfast which varies every day and can be Western or Japanese, and also have tea, coffee, hot...
We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Villa Nozawa and had the most amazing time.

The staff recommended and booked us into great restaurants and always provided us with great eating options. All staff were warm and...

Our premium 2-bedroom apartment was everything we'd hoped for and more. Spacious, well appointed, clean and inviting. The wood chip fire was amazing. The welcome provisions were such a lovely touch and really set the tone of the whole Tanuki experience (cafe, coffee shop and restaurant). Location was easy to access the moving footpath to the slopes. Staff were so helpful regarding any of our requests...
The accommodation was truly outstanding. The attention to detail in the design of the apartments and in house facilities were exceptional however the reception staff lacked basic training and knowledge which was disappointing.
We had a comfortable spacious room with a view of buildings in the foreground and the mountains with trees changing to autumn colours. It was great having a sitting area with a small table. There are quite a few stairs and no elevator. Everything is impeccably clean. There are free laundry machines to use.
This hotel was excellent in all aspects: value for money, location, service, and cleanliness.
Nozawa Onsen has many outdoor baths, so all you need is a place to stay with a clean and comfortable shower.
I would recommend this hotel not only to Japanese people but also to foreign tourists.
Right in the heart of a truly delightful hot spring town.
Despite the narrow streets, I absolutely loved the charming townscape.

Room was very nice and staff were very friendly! However the onsen spa was very dirty and had not been cleaned for a very long time, mould all over the walls, grimey floor, objects floating in the spa. Otherwise good experience
I traveled by car to Matsunoyama and Matsudai to tour the rice terraces. There were no business hotels nearby, so I stayed at Ikemoto in Nozawa Onsen.
9,800 yen for a room only is a bit pricey. The Japanese-style room is about 10 tatami mats in size, and the sink and toilet are shared, so I don't think young people would stay there. It was a Showa-era retro inn with an image similar to a guesthouse...
The location is fantastic, directly opposite the tourist information centre, and surrounding by cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops. It's also right in the centre of the stamp collecting zone, if you are interested in doing the stamp collecting!
The staff are absolutely lovely. So smiley and friendly. Additionally, the breakfast was delicious, and you can get free coffee.
The rooms themselves are large...
Ikemoto is conveniently located next to the bus stop from Iiyama train station. We reserved the traditional tatami with private bathroom and breakfast. Breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and clean. The staff is friendly. The location of Ikemoto is close to everything. It can’t beat the price. I would highly recommend if you’re tight on a budget.
Very good location. Just a few steps from the bus stop. The lodging is reasonable for its price too. The food is also good if u do not want to eat dinner outside.

Our stay at Oyado Nozawaya was definitely a highlight of our first ever Japan trip. We were welcomed and accommodated to such high standard and care from this lovely family. The family made us feel so welcome in the town and their home.

We booked this place based on a recommendation. Tommy, the host and his family were more than welcoming and helpful. Rooms were massive, all amenities there, including a small onzen in the basement. We booked halfboard and were in for a suprise at the amazing and very generous sized dishes from Tommy. It was a truly authentic experience, our kids loved it, too. We will recommend and hopefully come...
I never write reviews of anything, but I feel compelled to share how lovely this little family run inn was. It is highly recommended for Chinese friends who want to go to Nagano Hot Spring Village to stay in this B&B. It is very nice and clean. The host is friendly and the meals are very rich. Staying at this B&B in a foreign country adds a lot of warmth to the journey

This time, we stayed in a room on the third floor. It was very spacious for two people and had a private toilet (with a bidet). We could also make tea in the room. Overall, we were very satisfied.
The hot spring's temperature was adjustable, which was quite comfortable, but because it was too airy, the showering area was very cold.
We felt right at home. Thank you, Ms. Okada!
Nice location within Nozawa town. Has its own private onsen.
My review for this place is not as negative as some of the comments on Google or trip and here is the reason why: i stayed in 3 different places in Nozawa osen this trip, this has by far the best value for money, cheapest with private toilet and real onsen. The location is good, and it is very convenient to the ski resort and the shuttle bus station. There is a Chinese reception, and you can enjoy a discounted ski ticket for guests. There is a fierce Dalmatian at the door ~ The facilities are a bit old

We stayed with a large group for 4 nights and took up a lot of this small hotel. The hotel is quite dated and I agree with other reviewers the furniture and walls are a little bruised and stained and could do with freshening up overall - but it was clean, and cleaned each day, there were fresh towels and the beds were very comfortable and warm. The bathroom is typical and a small capsule type arrangement...
This hotel is perfectly located for the bus from Iiyama, access to Hikage, local onsens and all the restaurants. The lovely people who run the hotel are very helpful and friendly. Whilst it is an older building ithe rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious. Good wifi, great breakfast and very quiet.
Our hosts were very considerate and obliging. They were able to assist us with ski tickets. The premises were warm. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfeasts were generous, tasty and hearty. The carpet was a bit spotty but the rooms were very clean. There was a bath and always lots of hot water.
A cosy and friendly place to stay! Gasthof Schi Heil is right in the centre of town and a close walk to convenience stores, restaurants, cafes and the base of the mountain. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating and assisted us with making reservations and booking tours. Would highly recommend!
The house is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of hot water. In addition, there is a stream around the hotel, so you can fall asleep listening to the sound of the water, which is very comfortable.
Not as bad as reviews
The door closes at 22:00 (Rakuten Travel says it's 24:00),
To be honest, it's pretty close to going to a hot spring after skiing,
The door closing time is displayed at 22:00, and the explanation from the staff is sufficient, so there are not many people who do not return by 22:00...
Other than that, I was able to leave my luggage first thing in the morning and even change clothes...

Western Style Home. Very kind Service. Amazing Breakfast. Extraordenary Dinner. The owner herself pick you up at the parking lot with a very special car.
The accommodation was very comfortable, staff were so helpful, food delicious and right at the centre of all the main runs.

Great service, tasty breakfast, you can start skiing directly from hotel. I am happy with everything

The guesthouse is conveniently located very close to the ski resort. The interior is clean and cozy, and the ski equipment rental prices are very affordable. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended accommodation in Nozawa.
The best thing about this place is its location, very close to the Nagasaka gondola lift and main ticket office. I also like the fact that I could rent my ski equipment right from the hotel, and stow the rentals onsite at a designated area. Every morning after eating breakfast at the lodge, I put on the gears and just needed to walk 5 minutes to get to the lift and hit the slope. The hotel is a family...
Great location, 5 mins walk to the gondola. There are ski and snowboard rental services available as well. Good breakfast and dinner plan. Super yummy and good size 🤭 My family and I are really impressed by the hotel owner and staff, very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our 10 days stay here and will definitely come back. Julie Zhu
Wonderful little place, very close to slopes with wonderful service.
We loved our stay at Wafu Pension MIYAZAWA! The staff were super friendly and helpful, great breakfast and dinner options, ski/board gear hire, easy 3 min walk to main gondola, cozy rooms and everything you need for a snow holiday in a traditional guest house setting!
Really comfortable stay in a basic, clean and friendly location. Added bonus was the basically new ski gear I rented for a good price!
