The hotel is conveniently located just a few dozen meters opposite the South Exit of Shin-Takaoka Station. Right outside the hotel is the Shin-Takaoka bus stop, where you can catch a bus to Shirakawa-go without a reservation. Next to it is the JR station for Amaharashi Coast, and there's also a large AEON MALL nearby, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient.

Toyoko Inn is a good value hotel chain with good hygiene and complimentary tea, coffee, and ice downstairs. The service is good. Small rooms are a common problem in Japanese budget hotels, but the room layout is reasonable.

The location, value for money, and friendly staff are all great. However, the room is a bit small. It's so small that I can only sleep in it. I can't even have a beer in the room.

The hotel was up one level and can be access by escalator or the bridge across the parking lot. Room was clean but the hotel might need updating soon.

The large public bath and sauna were very good!! They also gave us mineral water without cleaning the room, which was very good!!

The bath is spacious and the sauna can fit more than eight people, and both the bathroom and changing room are clean and comfortable.

Good breakfast, parking will cost 1000 yen. Only manage to get smoking room which smell very bad

Very nice and surprisingly spacious room. The daily cleaning was done meticulously. Food was decent, fried items are delicious. Really nice hotel if you want to explore Himi/Amaharashi and/or the more rural part of Toyama

The security guard at the parking lot was very kind. I was happy to receive umbrella rentals, towels for the car, and delicious coffee. I was also satisfied with the large public bath.

The hotel is very close to Takaoka Station, just a five-minute walk away, which is quite convenient. On rainy days, you can borrow umbrellas from the hotel without checking in, which is very convenient. The hotel breakfast is quite good and offers good value for money.

We had a great stay at APA Hotel. It was clean with complete amenities. It has a neutral smell which is good for guests who are sensitive to scent. Everything was really nice. However, we find it quite far from the station or we just didn't figure out the best way to get there. Suggestion to travellers: look at the tram's time table to be able to go around faster and conveniently.

Perhaps the very best hotel I have stayed in during a month of cycling in Japan - Super room (and not as compact as many others) - with room, furnishings and bathroom new and immaculate. + lovely friendly staff at reception. Oh, and I paid an absurdly low price (the price should be set higher!). Highly recommended!

They responded quickly to our reservation issue, which was very helpful. The room was clean, and the breakfast included local ingredients, so we were able to enjoy a little at a time and it was delicious.

Very close by station and convenience. We went by car and there are 64 parking that you can park for apa hotel. Luckily we got parking even we check in around 9pm! I think apa hotel is improved than previous. Cleanliness! Good location!

Amenities like airconditioning, hot water, etc, are good. Good restaurant. Parking available. Beware the hotel razors! They are very bad quality and will hurt you.

Counter checkin service is fast and patient for serving. She introduced me to collect cleaning tools at self counter, and help me to call the lift. The hotel's location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Takaoka Station, making it very convenient for getting around. While the facilities are a bit dated, it's generally clean, and the room isn't cramped. The front desk staff were very welcoming.

Pretty standard for a business hotel in Japan

Throughout my stay in Japan, i think love this hotel the most. Not just because the price is very economic, the location is so easy access to everywhere, the cleanliness, and the facilities are all completed. The staffs all are all so helpful. Even the room size for solo traveler is pretty decent. If I ever going to Takaoka again, I will definitely come here again.

Hotel Takaoka New Otani is just an 8-minute walk from Takaoka Station. The hotel lives up to its high standards, with complete facilities, clean rooms equipped with massage chairs, a very generous buffet breakfast that reflects local specialties, and friendly and attentive front desk staff.

As expected from the Otani Hotel. The breakfast was also incredibly delicious. I requested that cleaning not be provided on my second night, but I was surprised that they didn't even provide bath towels or take away trash, but I received new bath towels and other items at the front desk. They also lend out umbrellas in case of rain, which is a good thing. If I had to say something, it would be better...

Overall, I was very satisfied! The free drink service and the complimentary rice porridge for a late-night snack were great, but it was a little disappointing that the hot water in the kettle wasn't refilled at times.

The room was spacious, but since it wasn't non-smoking, it (and the hallway) reeked of cigarette smoke. The location was great, just across the alley from the station exit.

I booked breakfast but it's not worth it. A convenience store bento or sandwich would be much more satisfying.

A standard, affordable hotel in Japan.

Small items such as combs, toothbrushes, bathrobes, etc. are next to the service desk on the first floor. They can be taken according to personal needs, which is very convenient. There are umbrellas at the entrance of the hotel that you can borrow if needed.

I stay here every time I need a place to stay in Takaoka. It is a nice hotel, brand new, it has a nice onsen, staff are very friendly to foreigners, and it is clean! Most importantly, the price is fair.

I had my hopes up about this place. 4.1 stars on average. Great location, just beside the train station. However if you’re a tourist, don’t bother asking the concierge on places they recommend or how to get to certain location. Without hesitation, they will tell you “I don’t know”. One of the concierge even asked me “you don’t know Toyama station??” In a very shocked manner. He spoke great English...

Its about 2 minutes away from the train station, so there is many food available. The hotel has only 10 over parking lots, staff was very kind enough to share all the nearby parking before hand which was extremely helpful. The tap water is delicious haha, its tasted even nicer than the bottle provided! The bath was big enough as well, even though there was many people but it felt comfortable. Love...

Modern, very clean and quiet room (not facing the railway line). Plenty of options for the evenings close by. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay again!
