We visited the camp in February 2016 for one night and a day tour. We met some of the most friendly people here. Even though it was off season for tourists, they've organized everything for only the two of us. We were basically alone in the camp. The owner is really friendly, helpful and flexible.
One of the best experiences I had so far. Highly recommend this camp.

Mehedi tailored me a three day trip that had all I wanted: a camel trek, doing the Burdah arch and bivouacking out in the desert.
Ibrahim, my camel guide, did a great job to teach me the fundamentals of how to get a camel to do what I wanted - with some success! He is a knowledgeable, personable and interesting chap who made the 4 hour trip from the village to the camp a very interesting time.
The camp is in a hidden, secluded opening in a narrow canyon and has been built to resemble a Bedouin settlement. You'll sleep in simple, but very comfortable little 'tent' compartments with plenty of warm cover for the cold nights. Food is taken in the communal dining tent - and is tasty, plentiful and in the Bedouin tradition. I slept like a log in total comfort.
Salah took me up to the Burdah Arch next morning - nice scrambling, breath-taking scenery and mind-blowing views at the top. After a leisurely lunch (and lots of the additive Bedouin tea!) up on the mountain he put me on a foot march through the desert and after meeting at Lawrence's house found a deserted and secluded place for the bivouac. The Bedouin stew he cooked on an open fire was tasty - and how he baked bread over an open fire and using the hot embers to get both sides crunchy was quite amazing. In Bedouin style the bread then gets broken up and mixed with the stew, so that you can roll it and eat it by hand - which took a bit of practice!
Sleeping out in the open under the stars was something I had wanted to do for a while - and it was just as phenomenal and liberating as I always thought it would be.
Salah's expert guiding and his easy manner made him a great companion.
All in all, what I really liked about Mehdi's operation was the genuine, no false frills approach to making you have a great time among what felt like new friends. I couldn't recommend him more to anybody who is after a great experience, expertly delivered.

We stayed at Bedouin Directions camp in the spring of 2017. We had a phenomenal experience. We took a 1 day camel ride and a 1 day jeep tour. Both experiences were awesome. Our guide on the Jeep tour (Mohammad) was superb. He was super friendly and informative, he played with the kids and was a lot of fun to be with and made us a delicious lunch too.
Our stay was everything we had hoped for. We would for sure visit the camp again and would, and have, recommended it to others. If you are going to Jordan and thinking of visiting Wadi Rum, these guys are the guys to call.

We (family of 4, 2 children 11 and 13 years old) had an amazing 2 day adventure with Bedouin directions. We flew into Eliat (OVDA) and having purchased the Jordan pass in advance, it allowed us 2 days entry into Petra (you need 2 days) and entry into all the other sites in Jordan (including Wadi Rum) plus easy passage across the border without a fee (3 nights necessary) from Jordan (you still have to pay the Israel exit fee). Mehedi organised our taxi transfers with Ahmed (who is lovely and does not smoke) from the border to Petra, then Petra to Wadi Rum and then Wadi Rum back to the border with Israel. We arrived in Wadi Rum village around 10am (2 hours from Petra) and after a welcome hot tea we met Eid and the camels. We then had an amazing camel ride across the desert to their camp (3 hours lunch then 2 more hours). Their camp is tucked away in the centre of high rocks, so very protected. We enjoyed a leisurely evening dinner chatting with Mehedi's brother about todays politics (interesting times at the moment). We then enjoyed a short night hike, viewing the amazing stars, before settling down for an early night. The beds are very comfortable and they had fantastic warm blankets so even though it was December we were lovely and warm. We woke up at 6am to watch the sun rise over the desert then breakfast and then at 8am Sala arrived with the Nissan pathfinder to take us to the base of the highest mountain in Wadi Rum. We enjoyed a leisurely 3 hour hike up and down and then Sala cooked a wonderful lunch over an open fire. We then visited the arch and the spring with the vehicle before returning to the village to meet Ahmed again for our return to the border. We had a fantastic active 2 days in Wadi Rum and we could not ask for a better team as Bedouin Directions. We learnt so much about the desert, the plants and the animals and also the life of the Bedouin. To experience the life of the desert you should definitely come with this family company. Thank you so much Bedouin Directions.
